Alright so I have 3 main verses for Nicky

A Reagan First: Nicky is the first woman in the Reagan family to become a police officer. This verse follows the events in the series for the most part except for Nicky moving to San Francisco and becoming a lawyer. Instead she followed her family's footsteps and became a cop.

Excelling in Her Duties: Nicky became the first woman in the Regan family to become NYPD and she's the first Reagan to become an ESU member. Basically this is my verse for her being a SWAT team member of the ESU and leads to more SWAT based threads.

Living the Teen Days: In this verse it's set in the present day but Nicky is a teen. All Nicky centric parts of the series are pushed back in the timeline to fit with this.

"Mom! I came by after shift!" Nicky called as she opened the door and shut it behind her. Of course she still visited her mom at least once a week to catch up and everything. Honestly it was one thing that she looked forward to during the week. She quickly found her mother and gave her a smile. "So, how was your day?" She inquired with a slight smile that still radiated her happiness.

Nicky stepped out of the terminal at LAX before heading to the baggage claim to grab her bag and boxes of gear before stepping out to look for the officer that would pick her up. She had decided to apply for an exchange program for officers to learn new tactics that other departments did. Seeing as she had joined the ESU it was decided that she would be paired with the LAPD SWAT team. Eventually she spotted the officer and approached.

"Hey, I'm Officer Nicky Reagan, NYPD." She introduced herself to the older officer, though that wasn't saying much since she was only 28 years old, a lot of cops would be older than her.

As an officer, well a Sergeant, it was highly important to Luca to embrace various programs the LAPD ran with other agencies like the FBI, other police agencies across the world like when he had travelled to Thailand and Germany and several other places in his career. It was important to advance, to learn and grow and to educate other officers with different techniques so as usual, he was assigned to being Nicky Regan's mentor while she was in LA. He had booked a room at a hotel and he would offer her to stay with him in his spare bedroom, the other room that had been filled with his and Street's junk, but they had made it comfortable and cosy.

Looking up from his phone, he smiled. She was young, pretty and seemed excited even after the flight from New York to LA. He also had to be on his best behaviour because her grandpa was the Commissioner of NYPD. Like the Luca family, they were a cop family and the blood they carried ran blue instead of red.

"Hey!" He smiled, offering his hand. "Dominique Luca, but everyone just calls me Luca. Here, gimme your bags and hop in." He motioned to his truck that he was leaning against. "How was your flight? And you're gonna find that LA is a different place compared to New York." He took her bags and threw her belongings in before hopping in himself.

This exchange program was something that really excited the newest Reagan to the police force. It would allow her to learn and share tactics and tips. The two departments and moreso states worked together to allow her to be certified in the state but she had been warned that things would be more different than she expected.

She smiled again at the Sergeant, she had been told that he was with SWAT for some time now and would be the best fit for her to be assigned to. Also for the fact that they came under similar circumstances.

"It's nice to meet you Luca." She spoke, handing him a bag after he asked and getting into the truck. "The flight was long, but business class wasn't that bad." She spoke politely. "And yeah I can already see that it's so much more different, though I can't wait to get started, I'm sure that I have so much to learn from a more SWAT focused team.

He flashed a warm smile in her direction, knowing she would be nervous even though it was all above board and work related. "Six or seven hours doesn't sound too bad in business class." He chuckled to himself. "Last year I went out to Germany again and the flight was over twelve hours and stuck in economy, so count your blessings, kid." He didn't mean it as a sarcastic or rude nickname, but it was what he called everyone who was considerably younger than him. "So the department booked a hotel room for you or if you wanna come and use my spare bedroom, which has a lock you're welcome to it." He felt it was important that Nicky felt safe if she decided to stay with two male strangers, even if they were cops. "So I guess you must be pretty excited to get going with the training tomorrow?"

"Nah it wasn't bad at all, and my mother insisted that I get an upgrade the NYPD was initially going for economy." She chuckled. She wasn't offended at the nickname nor did she really care about being called kid.

"If you don't mind I'll take the room at your place, probably makes things like getting to work pretty easy." She admitted, thinking about what would probably be best. "And yeah I am excited. Surprisingly the ESU doesn't make you SWAT in New York." She told him as they drove. "I do have my ESU gear, that's what was in the cases. Unless your CO wants me to use LAPD gear."

Nicky had always thought her mother was always being over protective of her and even though at sixteen she knew there were dangers but she figured she would be able to see the signs. Unfortunately she didn't and as she was on her way home from school she was snatched right off the street.

The kidnappers kept their faces hidden from her, even as they made her call for the ransom. Apparently they had kidnapped her because she was the granddaughter of Commissioner Reagan and knew she would be of high value.

SVU wound up on the case due to the nature of it, Olivia leading her team in doing so. She knew this was of highly important, not that she didn’t see all of their cases that way, this one had higher stakes where politics were involved and that always weighed heavily.

It took right at 36 hours for the unit to track down whom had taken the teenage girl, immediately sending a recovery team to retrieve her from the location she was being held.

Olivia entered the building once the kidnappers had been apprehended. Going straight to Nicky. “Nicky, hi sweetie. I’m Olivia, I’m going to get you out of here ok?” In the middle of the frenzy of the room, Olivia was the calm that worked to settle Nicky what she could manage.

The night in captivity was rough for Nicky but she knew that someone would come save her. She had hoped for her uncle but knew that they also had special units for this kind of thing. Either way the hope of her being saved was what she held onto and after 36 hours she was finally rescued and relieved when she saw the police enter the building she was being held in.

Nicky saw the female cop come in and make her way to her. "T-Thank you so much." She cried, tears streaming down her face. "It was so terrifying." She stammered. Nicky was actively shaking as Olivia approached her. "Y-You weren't who I was expecting to come in but I'm grateful." She chuckled a pained chuckle, trying to bring a little light into her situation.

Olivia’s demeanor stayed calm and held together. “That’s ok, we’re going to get you back to your family.” She had enough experience with such situations, that she knew how gently these situations needed to be handled, and the comfort that these victims needed. “You’re safe now.” She tried to reassure her.

She didn’t want to make any sudden moves and startle Nicky. “I’m going to untie you, ok? Then we’re going to get out of here. There’s some EMTs outside that want to check on you, make sure you’re ok.” Pausing to let all the information settle for her. “I’ll call your family on our way to the hospital, I won’t leave your side.” Olivia had a deep understanding that after such trauma, it helped to have someone stick by the victim, even if they didn’t know one another.

Olivia slowly moved behind her, and as gently as she could began untying Nicky’s arms. “Alright, just move slow, ok? Your arms are gonna be sore.” She assumed she’d been tied up since she was first taken.

Nicky definitely did feel reassured. She knew that everything was going to be alright now that the NYPD had saved her and caught her kidnappers.

"T-Thank you, I don't want to be alone ." She spoke. It was true, even though she knew that the kidnappers were caught she didn't want to be alone thinking that someone would get her again. After being untied she did as she was asked, moving slow as her joints and muscles ached from being in the same position for so long. After she was released she hugged Olivia,

Open Starter

Nicky picked at her braces as she walked towards the subway station on her way home from school. "Ugh this just completely blows, mom wouldn't let me go to that concert in Central Park tonight because it's a school night." She huffed to nobody but herself. As she walked she paid attention to her surroundings, growing up in a family of cops would do that to you but she obviously wasn't paying enough attention because as she passed an alleyway she felt something cover her eyes and mouth before she could even let out a scream. Soon she found herself pushed into the back of a van with some other people who looked to be in the same predicament as her, stuck in this van, hands bound behind their backs and mouths gagged.

Nicky was trying to enjoy her last day on shift before she had a weekend off, unless something came up which it seemed to always happen. Tonight she was on a solo patroland she was just finishing up a foot patrol whenever she heard a noise coming from an alley.

"Hey NYPD, who's back here?" She called out, shining her flashlight around the area, searching for who or whatever was creating the disturbance.

It had been four years since Nitya had set foot inside of the SWAT HQ. For her it didn't bring back bad memories, just another investigation in the books that ended with Hondo and Street being cleared, but for all the officers involved, at least that she had interviewed had remained hostile to her and rightfully so. Now though she hoped that they had forgiven her if they didn't just downright hate her guts.

This time though it wasn't for an investigation that brought her, no in LAPD's eyes they needed to foster a better relationship and so now FID officers were doing a patrol requirement and today she was doing a joint patrol day with a SWAT officer. She had to say wearing the uniform as opposed to business casual felt off for her, maybe she actually could gain some better insight as well as make amends. Stepping into the Eagles Nest she saw the SWAT members all lined up as Commander Hicks was giving his brief and giving out who was riding with who.

"And keeping with that tradition you all will be going out on patrol and interacting with the community. Along with that we have Sergeant Wilson from FID joining us for her own Patrol Requirement. Now Luca, I'm pairing her up with you." Hicks spoke, finishing his speech and motioning to Nitya. After everyone else had left she looked over to him. "Hey, it's been a while, I guess that's good." She chuckled, not really knowing how to make small talk.

Patrol days were either loved or hated but never in the middle and as the SWAT officers lined up, they instantly noticed Sergeant Wilson and shared confused but suspicious glances. But then Hicks explained the plan for the day and the other officers gave Luca an apologetic look as they all left the eagles nest.

Luca wasn't one for grudges and he respected that bad cops needed ratted out of the department, so he wasn't taking it too personally against Wilson. "Hey, it's definitely been a while. You ready to go or do you need a refresh on all your equipment?" He asked her and he was being serious. Not knowing your equipment could cost lives mot to mention their own.

"No I should be good to go. We may not have as much of a use for our equipment but I at least try to keep my muscle memory up." She spoke, offering him a slight smile. She was also fully aware of what not being familiar with one's equipment could mean.

"I've fully ensured I know where my Tazer is and my sidearm. I have my handcuffs and keys, and of course my radio." She was also mentally checking off each item of the list as she spoke it. "So question, do you want to drive or want me to drive?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow. To her it didn't necessarily matter.

He nodded, quite grateful that she did recall all the basics that were taught in the academy because all it took was one mistake in getting the tazer and side arm mixed up. "We've just gotta pick up the war bags and then we're outta here, but you can drive." He said to her as they headed to the kit room where they signed out different rifles, two lethal and two non lethal, two large bags of everything else they would need and two shot guns.

Luca loaded everything into the back before grabbing body cams and handing her one. "Bet you didn't think you would be stuck doing this all day." He said to her, not in an unkind way but it was rare anyone who made it into a suit were back in patrol uniform, even if it was only for a day. "C'mon, we better get rolling." He said as he headed to the passenger side of the shop, a jeep style cruiser.

"Right, I completely forgot about those, it's been a while since my patrol days, seven years I'd have to say." She admitted as they gathered the rest of their gear. Nitya never thought she'd be carrying all this great again, it honestly bright back a little bit of nostalgia.

She took the bodycam, testing it as she joked it up to her shirt. "Never in a million years did I think I'd be back on patrol. For the first half of my career I was a patrol officer in West Hollywood, then I joined FID. Today's a change of pace and I can't complain too much yet." She chuckled as she climbed into the shop, testing out all the equipment in it. "Ready for a fun shift?" She inquired, only half jokingly.

Luca looked over at Wilson and chuckled softly. "Yeah, it brings back a weird kind of nostalgia, right? It's like us being back on the job for the first day and the rookies wish it was their last day." He stifled a yawn as he logged into the computer and rubbed his hands over his face.

It had been a rough a few months and finally the sleepless nights and long days were catching up with him, not to mention the drama that came along with it.

"Yeah, we're gonna have a fun shift but you dare sa the Q word and I'm kicking you out." He joked a little but the Q word was off limits to everyone.

"Yeah that's the feeling, like being back as a Rookie, but at least we get the short sleeves, unlike rookies." She laughed as they pulled out of the motorpool and started their patrol."I was gonna tell you the same thing. The Q word is downright bad luck." She liked that they were already getting along.

"So Luca tell me about yourself? I'd like to know a bit about my partner seeing as we'll have all day together." She hoped that it wasn't too much to ask for someone who would only be working with him for a single day. She was willing to share information about her life if he did as well.

He had laughed because he remembered those rookie days and he remembered when he had become a training officer before going to SWAT and there were good and bad memories in both.

He hadn't realised his eyes had been closing until Wilson spoke to him, trying to recover quickly. "Uh, sure. I mean I joined the academy as soon as I could, so I've been around a long time. But I guess there's nothing real exciting. I go surfing whenever I can but it's been a while and I've got my own food truck that sells the best Guatemalan Street food out there, looking at branching out with another truck the next couple of months." He answered. "What about you or are you not allowed to talk about it since you're IA?"

Nitya smiled and nodded as he talked, showing as a sign she was listening. "So Californian of you to like surfing." She chuckled, not being rude just genuinely joking. She wasn't expecting the food truck though, that intrigued her. "So you manage to juggle being on SWAT and owning a good truck, color me impressed." She smiled, looking over at him briefly as they stopped at a light.

"No there's nothing saying I can't share, plus today I'm not FID, I'm just a patrol officer." She started before continuing. "Well I'm a mother, I'm probably just as typical of a Californian because I enjoy skateboarding." She admitted with a sheepish smile. "And I love to cook Omani food in my spare time." She told him, revealing a slight but about herself.

He laughed at her comment and flashed her a smile. "Hey, if you're gonna live in one of the most beautiful places on earth you've gotta love the beach." He wasn't overly enthusiastic about other spots in california but he had his spots for surfing. "Yeah, I guess you could call it managing but I've got a few real interesting women who live in my neighbourhood running it. It's their food, their menu and I just happen to get free food." It was a joke as he turned back to her.

"You've got a kid? That's great, boy or girl?" He asked curiously. "And I bet your husband isn't too happy about you being out here in the street again." He mused. People who weren't cops didn't get it, didn't get how they could so selflessly put their lives on the line for a couple stranger. "So between the skateboarding and being a mom you actually get to cook too? Omani food? Never heard of it so you're gonna have to tell me what culture that's from."

He sighed in frustration when he felt his stomach aching again as he looked out the window to see which street they were on, his hand moving to his gut as he winced but was trying not to make it obvious. "Hey, can you pull up to the pharmacy that's like a couple blocks away? Gotta grab something real quick."

"I guess you're right on that account. Gotta enjoy what this state has to offer, when you're not kicking in doors that is." She chuckled. "I have to say I didn't take you for someone who liked Guatemalan food, then again I've never had any myself so maybe it's some of the best food out there. Maybe I'll have to visit your food truck and try it out." She told him, now curious about it. "So what got you into the food truck business then?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

At his question she fished out a picture from her shirt pocket before handing it over to him. "I have a girl, she's fourteen now, that's hard to believe." She chuckled. "She's a spitting image of her father, if I didn't give birth, I'd half expect her to not be mine." She laughed, thinking about her daughter. Thinking to her husband she hadn't even told him that she was working patrol again, he of course wasn't a fan of when she was a patrolman early on in their marriage but she had told him that when she could she'd try and get out of patrol. "He doesn't actually know." She admitted sheepishly before turning to his next question. "Omani food? It's from Oman, my parents were from there and immigrated here before I was born."

Being a trained investigator she took notice of his movement, though she wasn't going to say anything, it wasn't her place to. "Yeah that's fine, I gotta grab a water and maybe some patrol snacks." She told him, turning down another few streets before parking the shop outside a pharmacy.

He wasn't trying to be rude as he dashed out of the shop and into the store, returning as he drank from a bottle of something to settle his stomach and a bag with more bottles and some painkillers as he got in, putting the bag at his feet. "Uh thanks." He said to her as he popped six of the painkillers instead of the standard two he should be taking, wiping his forehead with the back of his arm. "And we can stop by the truck for lunch if you wanna try something out, my treat." He said to her, picking up the conversation as if nothing had happened. "And Omani food sounds awesome I'm gonna need to get a few pointers on what to try."

"Yeah no problem....You good though?" She asked after he got back to the shop. She had hardly put it into park when he dashed out. She didn't need him overdosing on painkillers or anything and wanted to make sure that he was actually doing good and didn't need the hospital for whatever was going on.

"Yeah that sounds good, though if you do that you realize I'm going to have to owe you one and actually make you some food." She chuckled as she took a drink from her water bottle before putting the car in gear and starting their patrol again.

He nodded at her question. "Yeah, I'm good just.....don't tell the squad about it, okay? They would just worry and nag at me and I don't need that right now." He said to her softly, taking a sip of water from a bottle. "And what's so bad about that? I could use a real authentic taste of Omani food? Unless it's gonna cause issues with your husband." He knew how sometimes spouses minds worked when it came to cops, how relationships did change when you were working with a partner all the time.

"Listen your business is your business it's not for me to tell, plus you really think I have the relationship to gossip about others if I wanted to?" She asked with a chuckle. Of course she had no intent to tell anyone, she knew what it was like to hide something from your teammates. "I never said there was anything bad just that I'm gonna have to repay the favor." Nitya had to think about what her husband would think. He of course wasn't the over protective type but it could still be a shot in the dark. "It won't be a problem, and if he does make a deal about it I'll ensure he knows that you're just a work friend who hasn't had good Omani food."

Luca looked over at Wilson and chuckled softly. "Yeah, it brings back a weird kind of nostalgia, right? It's like us being back on the job for the first day and the rookies wish it was their last day." He stifled a yawn as he logged into the computer and rubbed his hands over his face.

It had been a rough a few months and finally the sleepless nights and long days were catching up with him, not to mention the drama that came along with it.

"Yeah, we're gonna have a fun shift but you dare sa the Q word and I'm kicking you out." He joked a little but the Q word was off limits to everyone.

"Yeah that's the feeling, like being back as a Rookie, but at least we get the short sleeves, unlike rookies." She laughed as they pulled out of the motorpool and started their patrol."I was gonna tell you the same thing. The Q word is downright bad luck." She liked that they were already getting along.

"So Luca tell me about yourself? I'd like to know a bit about my partner seeing as we'll have all day together." She hoped that it wasn't too much to ask for someone who would only be working with him for a single day. She was willing to share information about her life if he did as well.

It had been four years since Nitya had set foot inside of the SWAT HQ. For her it didn't bring back bad memories, just another investigation in the books that ended with Hondo and Street being cleared, but for all the officers involved, at least that she had interviewed had remained hostile to her and rightfully so. Now though she hoped that they had forgiven her if they didn't just downright hate her guts.

This time though it wasn't for an investigation that brought her, no in LAPD's eyes they needed to foster a better relationship and so now FID officers were doing a patrol requirement and today she was doing a joint patrol day with a SWAT officer. She had to say wearing the uniform as opposed to business casual felt off for her, maybe she actually could gain some better insight as well as make amends. Stepping into the Eagles Nest she saw the SWAT members all lined up as Commander Hicks was giving his brief and giving out who was riding with who.

"And keeping with that tradition you all will be going out on patrol and interacting with the community. Along with that we have Sergeant Wilson from FID joining us for her own Patrol Requirement. Now Luca, I'm pairing her up with you." Hicks spoke, finishing his speech and motioning to Nitya. After everyone else had left she looked over to him. "Hey, it's been a while, I guess that's good." She chuckled, not really knowing how to make small talk.

Patrol days were either loved or hated but never in the middle and as the SWAT officers lined up, they instantly noticed Sergeant Wilson and shared confused but suspicious glances. But then Hicks explained the plan for the day and the other officers gave Luca an apologetic look as they all left the eagles nest.

Luca wasn't one for grudges and he respected that bad cops needed ratted out of the department, so he wasn't taking it too personally against Wilson. "Hey, it's definitely been a while. You ready to go or do you need a refresh on all your equipment?" He asked her and he was being serious. Not knowing your equipment could cost lives mot to mention their own.

"No I should be good to go. We may not have as much of a use for our equipment but I at least try to keep my muscle memory up." She spoke, offering him a slight smile. She was also fully aware of what not being familiar with one's equipment could mean.

"I've fully ensured I know where my Tazer is and my sidearm. I have my handcuffs and keys, and of course my radio." She was also mentally checking off each item of the list as she spoke it. "So question, do you want to drive or want me to drive?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow. To her it didn't necessarily matter.

He nodded, quite grateful that she did recall all the basics that were taught in the academy because all it took was one mistake in getting the tazer and side arm mixed up. "We've just gotta pick up the war bags and then we're outta here, but you can drive." He said to her as they headed to the kit room where they signed out different rifles, two lethal and two non lethal, two large bags of everything else they would need and two shot guns.

Luca loaded everything into the back before grabbing body cams and handing her one. "Bet you didn't think you would be stuck doing this all day." He said to her, not in an unkind way but it was rare anyone who made it into a suit were back in patrol uniform, even if it was only for a day. "C'mon, we better get rolling." He said as he headed to the passenger side of the shop, a jeep style cruiser.

"Right, I completely forgot about those, it's been a while since my patrol days, seven years I'd have to say." She admitted as they gathered the rest of their gear. Nitya never thought she'd be carrying all this great again, it honestly bright back a little bit of nostalgia.

She took the bodycam, testing it as she joked it up to her shirt. "Never in a million years did I think I'd be back on patrol. For the first half of my career I was a patrol officer in West Hollywood, then I joined FID. Today's a change of pace and I can't complain too much yet." She chuckled as she climbed into the shop, testing out all the equipment in it. "Ready for a fun shift?" She inquired, only half jokingly.
