I think Berserk's overall message of struggle being pointless unless you have friends and compassion in your heart is a good thing to find if you're a grown man feeling depressed and defeated in these times. Sadly I think a lot of men cling to Guts' glorified image of solitude and self destruction+anger, and the message they take from Berserk is that Guts' anger is Good, and that they should be like that because its Cool. "I'm just like Guts fr" is barely a joke at this point. I think all men should be like the Japanese bodybuilder who started lifting to look like Guts.
it's this new (and by that I mean it's just old fashioned toxic, isolating masculinity dressed up to look new) kinda-alpha male idea of picking and choosing what aspects of something they want to emulate and absorb. a lot of hurt, depressed, lonely men are poisoned by these ideas and just stew in their suffering and blame others while being taught that that's the only way to thrive
in Berserk's case, they're ignoring the underlying message of love and compassion being the only way we survive and focusing on the surface level images of a masculine male suffering and fighting, missing the point entirely that he's not fighting alone and when he DOES he comes out worse. it's the point flying above a guy's head and he's going "WOW so cool...a man suffering alone and looking cool he's so me"
