Really though, as if you needed any more proof that these so-called ‘sceptics’ are really just nans, just see the comments to my last reblog. Hundreds of woman have come forward and all they can do is fall over themselves to congratulate the white man who stayed silent when he was getting a career boost and is only ‘speaking up’ now for good PR. He’s not ‘brave’ ffs, he’s opportunistic. He’s not a victim, he’s a complicit coward. There’s no more integrity in him than there is blood in a stone. i think we also need to be mindful of that fact that lots of male celebs (and others) speaking out are branding themselves as safe and insurable to the industry. not that i don’t believe the good intentions of any celeb that speaks out, im sure all of their hearts are in the right place, but any move like this, right now, is a calculated one. especially celebs who have been $$ linked to HW movies. I mean, the guy who plays silent bob is not some amazing guy, but at least he gave away all of his $$ profits from every HW vehicle he was involved in and donated it to various VAW orgs. 

it might have been nice if male celebs “drew a line” a little while ago. I know, i know, HW is a magical boogeyman who can really fuck up peoples lives, but i dont think anyone would argue against the fact that more could have been done behind the scenes in some capacity. 

i can’t help it, im just super suspicious of all these male celebs who are suddenly “drawing a line” after all this shit has blown up and HW can no longer affect them financially. 

like which is it? people had no idea at all and are shocked and didn’t know while they were working w HW or literally everyone knew this huge open secret?

U can laugh at me or whatever but i never got the impression he was thrilled with the current wsr so idk what went on there. he was not campaigning either. i watch the race every year. ppl start up to a year ahead and at least by july but he didnt. everyone else did this year. that aside i dont blame the actors anyway. weinstein was more powerful, an equal needed to take him out or the media. ddl i think once said as actors you pick the script but everything else is fucked lol

No one is saying that the onus was entirely on the actors. The abuse was kept in check by a large network of (male) producers, directors, executives, etc, that regularly think of women as property and aim to keep their pockets lined. I’m not saying that BC specifically observed/participated in the abuse, but he certainly looked the other way when it came time to get his funding/connections for his projects. Like all men, he is self-serving and picked/chose when it suited him. He may not have been ‘thrilled’ about TCW, but it certainly didn’t stop him from working with HW twice, cashing in on his connections, and calling him a friend on more than one occasion. BC is certainly naive, but not THAT naive - if he knows about gossip on the Daily Fail, he certainly knew about the abuse rumours - and chose to work with HW anyway.

Yes. The whole situation is revolting beyond words, and not merely because of the horrific abuse and harassment that these actresses experienced at the slug’s hands, but even more so that the Hollywood community actively enabled and nurtured this environment of abuse and silence. Anyone who says that they ‘didn’t know’ is an outright liar. I don’t blame the women for not speaking out earlier, but the men for looking the other way, and normalising HW’s behaviour. There is no way in hell that BC didn’t know, he just wanted the Oscar that badly. And in spite of his generic statement, he is certainly complicit in it, and as far as I’m concerned, he can fuck off with his faux-feminist and socially aware facade and rot too.

As for consequences? Nothing. Nothing will happen. BC will carry on as normal, cheerfully promoting his mediocre, rapist-funded film, and toting out his broodmare and brood when convenient like the good chauvinist he is. As if he would do anything to jeopardise his career...

Just curious, what do you think is the reason that some skeptics are so convinced that Disney will "magically" save BC and get rid of SH and then BC'll live happily ever after since he works for them now? Personally, I don't think Disney cares too much about the actors they hire so long as they don't have a long rap sheet.

Same, I’ve never understood the logic for why Disney/Marvel/ or any other company would care about the personal lives of their actors, as long as they aren’t going round committing mass decapitation or something. Other much more famous actors have gotten away with much more, and B is only a drop in the bucket.

the denial is very strong indeed. i get it, i used to be disappointed with him and sad for him bc he seemed to suffer a lot. but enough is enough, and facts are facts. i still don't believe the first pg was real, or the relationship, i'm still undecided about the 2nd, but he has chosen to continue this for three years now and he is publicly spending time with her. if ppl don't believe that she is in the pics it doesn't change the fact that she probably was there and he is still doing this!

Yup. Like, they can definitively identify her from blurry shots when she’s supposedly out on a date with a random bloke, but when it comes to multiple angles of her at that Wilderness festival thing where she was beside him and wearing the same dress she’s worn before, it’s ‘FAAAKE!!!” just because it goes against the story they’ve been telling themselves.
