As an animation student, im super like, invested in watching this become a thing. Will this be a one time animation clip or like, a webs show with voice acting? - a curious artist
It was to be a 3 episode anime however, due to a lot of the crew going on to do their own projects or finding themselves overwhelmed with their current lives, the project has unfortunately been delayed if not outright canceled.

Last summer actually! We did take a bit of a hiatus cause lots of real life things happened a lot on the team. We have started working on it again recently, however. Most of us are either professional animators or studying to be. This anime has no budget since it is homestuck so unfortunately, we cannot put it as a top priority. But we are trying! At this point, it is mostly trying to keep people motivated since adulting is hard.
(Same person as the previous question) I have a friend that might be able to help, but she wants to know what system you guys are using. Like, what program are you animating in or where she would need to get the sketches to ink them. I may have interpreted her question incorrectly, but yeah. Technical stuff I think.

The anime looks really good, guys! Really really nice job! As for questions: how is the animation coming along? Do you still need animators? (I wish I could join, but unfortunately I'm only good with traditional media)
A lot of us have been really busy the past few months. It is coming along very slowly. It’s maybe 1/4th 100% done since half our animators are busy with their own projects, or dealing with irl business. It’s mostly the cleanup that is taking forever since maybe 80% of the animation’s pencil test is done. Even in animation, artists hate inking/coloring.
That being said, with people dropping out or forgetting this exists, we are looking for new people to help with inking, coloring and background art. As well as inbetweeners.
Hey guys! I love what you're doing, but I see you haven't updated in a while. How's the project going?
This is something I have meaning to address for some time now. Most of the artists on this project are over twenty years old. This means, of course, we have responsibilities like college, work, bills…all that stuff. A lot of times we do not have time to work on this animation even though it is something that is near and dear to our hearts.
It is mostly being worked on during school breaks or days off if we are not working on our own personal projects. So while this project is moving at a snails pace, it is moving. We have approximately ¼th of it pencil tested and maybe 1/8th is 100% done.
This project while not abandoned, is very much so a side project. Please be understanding of this and be patient with us.

Alright then. It’s been a while since we last had an update. This is still a thing. However many of the animators are currently busy with school/work/life. I personally (Raine), have been very sick. In fact, sick enough that I need surgery.
The pre-op is July 1st, and the surgery itself is July 9th. I’ve been trying to keep up with animating everything as well as directing everyone along with the help of Salahare, but it’s been very tough on me both mentally and physically.
Not to mention, everyone has their own pet projects they are working on and this is one of those side projects that we do want to see though, just getting everyone on the same page through so much chaos is difficult. But we will be back to our regular schedule with the animation sometime in August. We hope to see you then!

Johns Character Sheet for RMWT anime
First off, oh my gosh I just watched the storyboard. Flawless Ideas there. But now for my questions, what rating would you consider this project to be, PG-13, R, etc.? Also, are the animations in the show going to be as pixelated as some of the scenes in the story board? I'm SUPER excited for the release of this anime!

And as we stated, this is going to be 3 episodes. The first 2 will be PG, while the 3rd is probably going to be a higher rating. We have discussed what the third project will be with SGT and BR and we’ve narrowed it down to 3 possibilities. For now, we’re just focusing on episode 1 primarily so we can get a hang of working on such a big project with our team. We are still recruiting animators and other artists as well since it will help speed up the process.
However, because this project is being done by people who have other commitments as well, progress is slow at times. We have the first 40 or so seconds pencil tested out. As for the pixelation, it was merely a thing that happened since both Jove and I used different programs to make the boards and that was sadly a side effect of it- we do plan for the final to look much cleaner and professional. The final animation will not have pixelation since it is a project we are putting our heart and soul into.

Is that a confirmation that Karkat is Hemogoblin?
Nope, not a confirmation. Reminder that the RMWT Anime is an unofficial fan-made project, meaning their concept art and animations don’t necessarily reflect what we’re doing with RMWT. Hahaha.

We are a fan group. Since we are not privy to the secret goings-on of the RMWT writing process we make some assumptions of our own and are not necessarily restricted by canon. Sure, it would be awesome to animate Sebastian’s magical girl transformation into Hemogoblin but for the sanity of everyone on the team we’ve decided it’s easier to base Hemo’s proportions off of Karkat.
Besides, Sgt and BR only hang out in our chat to share BL comics and remind us of real canon facts we need, like how Clubs Deuce is in fact not made of pizza, or that yes, John does swim freestyle butthatisnottheonlystrokeheknowsorprefersjfc

So, how is John perceived at his school? In the swim meet chapter, Karkat tells John he seems "unapproachable" and that troll seems to be nursing a healthy crush on him- but in an ask from November, you said he was seen as socially awkward and a goofball. So- is our lovely dorkface John an unknowing heartthrob? (I wouldn't be surprised tbh, built as fuck, and sweet is a deadly combination.)

Pshikel, I fucking love you, okay? That you took the time to draw all of this makes me feel fuzzy inside. Which says nothing of the fact that I absolutely adore your style, wholeheartedly and completely. I know the same goes for Kel, but you knew that already. I love how this comic is both funny and sad, as it really makes me feel sorry for John’s state of mind. At the same time, though, I laughed my balls off at not-Magneto. A+, ma’am.
