Many are heartbroken about the tragedy in Charlottesville, I am too do not misunderstand...many are blaming one side or the other...many are saying both sides lost because of what it became from what started as a peaceful protest - again, mistake me not, I do not condone the KKK, I do not condone ANY extremists in any country on any topic, period. Extremism tells us there is never any room for compromise. The only way to bring people together is not by adapting to each and every thing that even one person finds offensive but by compromise...which can only happen if we truly open our minds and our hearts. I dare say that in a way, while our whole country lost a little more because of this tragedy - wedged apart a little farther and a little farther - both groups in Charlottesville won in that they got attention they were seeking. These people do not represent the vast majority of Americans! Neither group is representative of the majority of those they claim to represent! They are extremists and the only thing they want, no matter what group they represent, no matter what they look like, sound like, or act like when the cameras are rolling, is attention and lots of it. If they couldn't get their 15 minutes of fame, they wouldn't be there. I understand there is a need to be educated on current events, I do...but at what point do we start realizing that the sensationalization of these extremists is fueling the fire and find a way to squash those flames? I think things have gotten beyond out of hand, on all sides! There are supporters of our current president that use his name to spout hate of the far left, there are haters of our president that use their hatred of him to pass blame like they're passing mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving...guess what?? Neither of these extremes is being a very good American! I'm not in either of these groups. I'm stuck in the middle, throwing up my hands, praying that people will start putting perspective on their words and their hateful remarks and their hateful hearts. I'm not trying to go all hippie tree hugger on all y'all but love is what makes the world go 'round y'all. SPREAD SOME LOVE. No politics. No agenda. JUST LOVE.
