I wonder if we’re going to get hospitalised Dylan in the next few eps. Aside from a few small/brief things (Covid/concussion/getting stitched up etc), I don’t think he’s ever been brought in acutely unwell or injured like most of the other cast have…so this might be the time they go there? Maybe mirroring Ngozi’s situation? I can’t quite figure out how this will end, but Will Beck would smash patient Dylan scenes with everyone in resus trying to work on him!

Always find it funny how little subtlety there is in Casualty when it comes to the writers pairing characters together romantically. But in this case I forgive them because Jan/Siobhan is wonderful.

I enjoyed some of the character moments in the Christmas special but the rest…just didn’t hit/felt really cheesy even by casualty’s standards
Rewatched the episode where Marty and David walk out after Robyn’s death today and I really wish they’d had David in particular leave on a happier note (or at least had someone comfort him!). The only things David really had left were his job and colleagues. Then one of his best friends dies in front of him. He leaves with his life absolutely shattered and that’s just so…💔 I miss him your honour.
(Also Charlie’s acting is so bad lol he’s unaffected like 10 mins after she dies it’s so jarring)
I don’t really love the choice tptb have made over the last few years to have Dylan be very over the top when he catches feelings for someone. I love hopeless romantic Dylan. I love dorky Dylan. I love that his demeanour changes when he’s got a crush and he becomes a bit gawky. But…he wasn’t like this with Ciara, was he? Feels like they’ve amped it up with each love interest since and it’s almost jarring now. There’s no subtlety to it. Which is frustrating because William Beck is such a fantastic actor, and he does subtlety so effortlessly!
Also Sophia and Dylan have zero chemistry and she’s awful, so that might be my issue. I do not buy her as a history buff at all either.
Casualty have a knack for making really realistically unlikeable characters (Paul, Faith, Sophia et al.) by complete accident and expecting the audience to root for them.
Sophia is awful
