I MISS THEM YOUR HONOUR
they should bring back zoe hanna or lofty or david or literally anyone dylan has ever been close to for this dervla storyline he cannot get through this by himself
also where the FLIP is ELLE GARDNER
also peek Artem Chernik from holby Fletch’s gambler patient ugh fletch loved him and then the fall out from that god i miss holby i spent the whole episode trying to figure out who he was then it clicked
Rewatched the episode where Marty and David walk out after Robyn’s death today and I really wish they’d had David in particular leave on a happier note (or at least had someone comfort him!). The only things David really had left were his job and colleagues. Then one of his best friends dies in front of him. He leaves with his life absolutely shattered and that’s just so…💔 I miss him your honour.
(Also Charlie’s acting is so bad lol he’s unaffected like 10 mins after she dies it’s so jarring)
Black Manta: Sure Devil Ray tried to kill us and also literally every person in Atlantis, but whom among us hasn't done that? Dr Mist: Almost all of us, Manta. Everyone but you has not done that.
I’ve been indulging in self-care by watching old David-centric episodes and urgh, anything with little Ollie is just horribly tainted now. I hate what they did with him so much. YEAH I still have something to say about this in 2023 bro.
Not only is it painfully tired, reductive and downright inaccurate to blame school shootings on bullying, Ollie was clearly an insightful and empathetic kid. Growing up around his dad’s illness instilled a precocious emotional maturity in him and that glimpse of parentification was always the most interesting thing about him to me.
Ollie doesn’t tell David about a school play he’s in because he doesn’t want his dad to attend and be embarrassed by all the parents gossiping about his bipolar; he recognises that David buying extravagant gifts is the beginning of a manic episode and decides he’s going to “take care” of his dad. And you expect me to buy that they suddenly become completely unable to relate to each other in the space of a few months?
I rarely get annoyed at ludicrous or sensationalist soap twists because it’s like, whatever, I know what I signed up for. But asking us to believe that a child who grew up having to keenly understand and accommodate complicated mental health issues would wind up unable to express his own without murdering people is just insulting. What a horrible, cynical note to end the Hides’ stories on.
Doing some rewatching and I JUST realised David has a literal tattoo of «Oliver» over his heart and that just kills me
