seranen:
rays of the sun that bathes the world at midday could genuinely blind him — Chou, the waiter of the underground, hidden floor. one not used to having direct contact with the sun much (a nocturnal being in essence). so, do excuse squinted dark blue eyes that gaze the scenario outside of restaurant windows, so bright and so dreamy looking! a, he’d surely never fit in there (even if facade is as warm as the gigantic star above).
however, his job isn’t meant for daydreaming only — his boss’ gaze from behind counter warns him that much, man already on the run when the tension reaches his spine (if only Kaguya wasn’t sick on that day).
“ good day, good sir ~ ! ” his greeting is filled with energy and cheerfulness, “ I’m today’s waiter, Chouchou or Chou for short! ” characteristic smile shown on pale features, “ ya have been lookin’ an awful lot to the menu ~ ! is there anythin’ ya’d like to know ~ ? ”his posture, once completely rigid and formal, will relax, bending upper body slightly towards client. “ if ya want any recommendations — the udon was lookin’ real good at the kitchen. ” charismatic and casually, he’ll suggest (even if he disagreed with it) it.
There was a moment of panic that shot through him as soon as he noticed the waiter approaching him. He wasn’t ready to order! He’s been looking at the menu sure, but definitely hadn’t been reading it the entire time his eyes have been on it. “Um Hi I’m-” He stopped himself, he nearly just introduced himself to the waiter. Seriously Asher has knocked him off his social interaction game by not showing up.
He took half a second to compose himself, and tuned back in to what the other man was saying to him. “Uh yeah, sorry I’m not really sure what to order...” Ryland explained, rubbing the back of his head, slightly embarrassed that he couldn’t just tell this waiter his order. And now he has to waste his time by talking to him, telling him stuff he probably tells tons of people daily.
“Oh! I don’t have any other ideas so anything you recommend is appreciated,” Ryland finally relaxed, giving Chou a light smile. He was glad he didn’t get stuck with someone who hated customers that took more than two seconds to order, because it would’ve been a not so good time, “I guess I’ll have the Udon then! Have you had it from here before?”
