Melting Nazi

The number one thing that gave me nightmares as a child was this Nazi from Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark. I was kinda religious when I was a child, so the opening of the Ark, was very real for me. (Sorry if I just ruined the end of the film for you :-/ oops) It haunts me to this day. I made a good luck talisman to try to cleans myself of this memory. I hope it works....

Inspired by Juan Sánchez Cotán

One of my all time fave artists is Juan Sánchez Cotán, a strange, Spanish, still life painter from the 16th Century.  Where the heck does this fruit exist?! His paintings are so mysterious and silent. They seem so simple.

The other morning I tried to photograph my typical cigarette breakfast. But still life isn’t as easy as Cotán makes it.

The mono-print is a really old one from a couple of years back, its pretty beat up now. (see greasy tack stains :-/ ) I think this is a slightly more successful pastiché. Capturing the trippy falling fruit.

Sunny Reflections

The sun is finally beginning to show in Stockholm. There are so many beautiful shadows and reflections, twigs and sticks. I tried to paint some of them in watercolour. I think they turned out ok. The colours are cute at least, and they look nice next to my big crystal. (The crystal protects me, in the sense that if anyone was to break into my room late at night, I can use it to bash them over the head…)
