@rebelxrobin is such a sweetheart and I love writing with them
🥺🥺🥺
Hey, y'all. Just checking in. I'm still here, life is just super busy.
Alright! My queue has officially ran out! I'm still here, I've just been very busy and will need to rely in the queue more than ever.
I'm going to poke around in my drafts and try to knock out few replies!
Thank you for your continued patience!
@rebelliousfamily (plotted starter)
Robin had just started to get settled. Her evening tea was brewing, she had changed into her sweats and the fuzzy socks that she liked so much. It helped her decompress after a long day.
One of the kids in her studio today tried to eat one of the pegs of the guitar. He was old enough to know better, but he was mischievous.
She had just sank onto the couch next to Nancy, but soon let out a groan as she realized it was trash night. She sat her mug on the coffee table and slapped her knees as she stood. "Be right back."
She padded into the kitchen and pressed the pedal of the garbage can down with her foot so she could shimmy the bag out of the cannister. She gave it a shake and tied the blue strings together, slinging it over her shoulder like Santa Clause.
As she opened the door to leave, she paused, brows knitted together as she gazed down at the bundle on their doorstep. "Hey, Nance?" She called out. "Come here a sec."
Laurie babbled up at Nancy, closing and opening his little fists. Robin was in awe of just how bright his eyes were. Bright blue. It caused her to smile given she had blue eyes herself. "I think that's a yes." Robin grinned.
"Let's get the big guy ready for bed." She took him from Nancy carefully, feeling much more comfortable in this routine. "Maybe we'll get a changing table, hm? So I don't have to keep putting your on the floor." She tickled his belly and he kicked his little feet with a squeal of a giggle.
"Is that my shirt?"
Scarlett froze in her spot, looking like a deer in the headlights. The shirt she was wearing was way too big for Scarlett, going down to her knees. "Uh, maybe." Scarlett replied, blushing. She didn't know why she was so bashful, Robin was her girlfriend.
Robin watched her, a glint in her eyes. "You should keep it." She chuckled, reaching out to squeeze her shoulders. "It's a really, really good look."
It was nice, feeling Tammy’s arms wrapped around her. “I’ve always wanted to hear you say that…” Robin admitted, pulling back slightly to get a good look at her, leaning into Tammy’s touch.
“May I kiss you?” Tammy softly whispered as she cupped Robin’s cheeks. Tammy has always wanted to ask Robin but was too shy and she never knew if Robin liked her back
"Yes!" Robin said a but too excitedly. "Of course you can..." Her cheeks reddened as she wet her bottom lip. She swallowed thickly, holding Tammy's gaze. "I'd like that."

@scarednotscary continued (midnight call)
It took Robin a solid minute to realize Chrissy was speaking to her. “Hang on, hang on.” Her voice is pleasant, but she’s tired. She sat up a bit in bed and rubbed at her eyes. “Chrissy?” A yawn escaped her. “You crushed our algebra study session. You’re going to be just fine. I promise.”
☾⋆ ‒‒‒‒‒ This happens more than she cares to admit, laying awake for hours and letting the existential dread take hold until it nearly cripples her. The difference now is that she has friends she can call and rely on, even if she is stressing about school stuff. “But… I don’t know. I keep picturing myself in class, Mr. Carter looking at me over the rim of his glasses like he knows my head is empty or something. What if my head is empty, Robin? What if?”
"Chrissy, your head could never be empty." Robin chuckled gently, but she isn't teasing her. "You're smart." It was normal, feeling nerves before a big test, it happened to her as well. Not to this degree, however. "Mr. Carter isn't scary. You're going to waltz in here, smile at him, and ace that test." She cleared her throat gently, reaching for her glass of water from her bedside table.
rebelxrobin:
“Wait– you aren’t teasing?”
“now why would i tease about that?”
"Right. I-I'm sorry." Robin smiled. "You wouldn't do that."
"Rob, it's gonna be fine! My family are going to love you!" Scarlett smiled at her girlfriend. (Robin meeting Scarlett's family! Cause Scarlett meeting Robin's parents was cute)
"It's not your family I'm worried about." She already looked so immensely exasperated. "I've never flown before! And I understand that there science in aerodynamics and that it's perfectly reasonable to fly, but my mind keeps lingering on the fact that a heavy hunk of metal shouldn't be able to fly with all of us on it."
That was a lot of information to take in, and Robin could only hope she'd keep it all straight. "You've got a big family." She chuckled nervously. Robin didn't really know her cousins or anything like that all too well. She knew she had an Aunt in New York, but she was a bit estranged and her mother didn't talk about her all that much. "Sounds like you're all close. That's nice." She smiled.
@rebelliousfamily (sweatshirt)
"Thank you." There is slight relief on her face when Nancy didn't pull out anything frilly or lacey. The sweatshirt would do just fine. It appeared it'd be a bit baggy on Nancy, so it should fit her just right. She turned a bit awkwardly so that she was facing the wall and slid her button up off and pulling her undershirt off before reaching blindly behind her for the sweatshirt.
"Yeah, much better." She said once it was pulled over her head. She turned back around, smoothing the fabric out.
"I'd never do that." Robin chuckled. "I'm pretty sure your dad could explode people with his mind if he wanted to." She teased, only slightly serious. But, she understood. She loved her own mom, but she had always been closer to her dad. "I think Mr. Wheeler secretly likes me."
@rebelxrobin
Scarlett let out a groan as she sat up, rubbing her head. She had been at home then there was that weird flash. Her head hurt which made her think that she hit her head when she landed, wherever she was. Scarlett got up, brushing off her clothes and looking around. This definitely wasn’t Elie, she knew her hometown like it was the back of her hand. Scarlett started walking, spotting a town. Hawkins, Indiana. Okay, so she was in America somehow.
Speaking of, it looked really different and she was getting weird looks as she walked into the town. Scarlett raised an eyebrow, looking at her clothes. She was wearing her usual Legend of Zelda t-shirt, leather jacket, ripped jeans and purple boots. As she looked around, she frowned. Everything looked like it was still in the 80s. Scarlett frowned, wondering what the hell was going on.
Scarlett continued down the street, continuing to ignore the strange looks she got from people. Scarlett had been in a couple of weird situations, that really couldn’t be explained. She had a feeling that this was one of them.
"Why don't you try me?" Robin replied. She had gone through her fair share of crazy. She was certain that there wasn't anything this girl could say that would throw her off. And, she was naturally curious, a trait she was certain that would never go away.
rebelxrobin:
Robin nodded, giving Chrissy her full, undivided attention. “I understand.” She said offering a small smile. “Maybe not to the extent of what you’ve been through, but I get how it feels to put on a mask. Pretending to be someone you’re not for the sake of others.” She took in a deep breath. “You don’t have to be brave for me. I won’t turn my back on you.”
Chrissy wiped away at the tears and nodded. “I know you guys won’t. I think this is one of the few times I am not worried… but I am also still very scared.” Chrissy was wringing out her hands in front of her and keeping them in her lap as she took a few deep breaths. “Now the monsters aren’t in the dark anymore. . and now they are out there and getting into your head.” She shook her head a little bit. “It all just doesn’t make any sense…”
Robin took a deep breath, feeling the tension in her own body. "I'm scared, too." She figured they all were- but, everything had gone so quickly that she hadn't even had time to properly process what had happened. She ran a hand through her hair before hunching over the side of the bed, elbows resting on her knees. "It's hard to make sense of it all- I'd like to think I'm an open minded person. Aliens, ghosts, whatever. But, when otherworldly shit is staring you in the face, it's hard to wrap my mind around it."
rebelxrobin:
Robin let out an amused laugh. “Yeah, it would be strange.” It was weird to think about, even if it was a joke. “I like being here. With you.” Life was strange. Terrifying even. But, she supposed that everything she had been through led to this moment. A sliver of happiness. “I get it.” She uttered. Her and Nancy had been through different things, but she understood the hoops she had to jump through to prove that she could be just as good as a man. “Nance, some day you’re going to prove to the entire world that you’re an amazing reporter and those guys at The Hawkins Post will eat their words.”
“I feel like even Steve would think it it rather strange to think about too. I mean you guys are such great friends and I love it too. And that he was actually very happy for us too.” She nodded at that. “I mean I may have had a few thoughts that I kinda screwed up. But my mom was there to talk me up too. And now I have you in my corner too.” She touched at Robin’s cheek very gently. “I know I can do that. I am ever more certain than ever I can do it more. You just had to pick someone that is just as stubborn as you for a partner.”
"A bit of stubbornness is a good thing." Robin chuckled, leaning into Nancy's touch. She reached for Nancy's free hand, and brought it up to her lips, gently kissing over her knuckles. It put her mind at ease knowing that Steve was okay with this- he truly was the greatest friend she could ever hope to ask for. "We'll all be working for you." She said softly, a ghost of a smile pulling at her mouth.
rebelxrobin:
Robin leaned into Nancy and closed her eyes. She didn’t like opening up, but she didn’t know who else to go to. Steve, maybe, but she didn’t want to emabarass him or make him uncomfortable with her ramblings.
She let out a shaky breath as she wrapped her arms around Nancy. “I don’t want to keep you up.” She mumbled.
Nancy hugged her and rubbed her back gently as she looked towards Robin. She just wanted to be able to keep her close. She wanted to be able to just comfort her.
“It’s okay. I stay awake most nights anyway.” She told her softly.
Robin took in a deep breath, keeping her eyes closed for now. She focused on Nancy's arms around her. It was gently, warm. Honestly, it was quite comforting to be held this long and if she could just clear the rest of her thoughts, maybe she could ground herself.
"Are you having nightmares, too?" They didn't really talk about it, what they had been through.
rebelxrobin:
Robin wasn’t expecting that answer and she tilted her head, perplexed. “Where are we driving to?” She liked the thought of a small getaway with the other. “It’d be nice to get out of town for a bit.”
Nancy smiled at her and took Robin’s hand to take her out to the car. “We’re driving out somewhere that it can be just the two of us.” She told her. “Because I like it when it’s just me and you.”
"You're not taking me somewhere secluded to finally kill me, right?" Robin teased, it was morbid, but her lack of a filter had her say it anyway. Still she got into the passenger seat, happily.
@a-adventurer continued
Robin's brows raised slightly. It wasn't like her to sleep in so late, but... this had been the most relaxed she had been in quite some time. "Later than I expected." She said with a small yawn. She was certain she looked disheveled, but that was alright. "Pancakes, huh? My favorite." A sma blush crept in her cheeks. "I'm good. Really good."
Robin hid her face with her hands, her blush becoming almost too much to bear. She couldn't believe what had come over her last night and replaying it in her mind nearly put her in a frenzy. She grinned behind her hands amd shook her head gently. "They don't hurt, right?"
