My Birthday - Victor celebrates the robin

My translation of Victor's My Birthday story for 2026.

Kate: Thank you so much for today. I had so much fun!

Victor: It was my pleasure. I can't think of anything better than being able to celebrate your special day with you.

Today was my birthday. We had spent the day ambling around the city while grabbing bites to eat, as well as stopping by to window shop at a marketplace selling all kinds of trinkets & antiques.

(I smiled so much my cheeks are starting to hurt. It's so much fun being able to spend the entire day doing little things like this.)

Victor: But are you sure you're all right? You haven't asked for a single present for your birthday.

Kate: Well, what I've asked you for is a lot more selfish than any present could ever be, don't you think? Kate: I wanted to have you all for myself for the entire day.

His jewel-like eyes widened briefly at my words, before he lovingly took my hand in his.

Victor: And you have me. Everything I am is yours, until the very last second of the day.

Victor was the queen's aide, the queen herself, and Crown's leader all at the same time. Day in and day out, he carved himself to fit all three roles, every precious second of his time devoted to his duties. There was no gift more valuable than being able to monopolize him for an entire day.

(But, maybe since I've spent the whole day with Victor, now that the sun is setting…)

—I was feeling lonely.

(I can't let him know, though.)

Victor: It seems it's time for us to return now. Today's main event is just about to begin, after all.

Kate: What?

When I glanced up at him in surprise, he smiled mischievously.

Victor: Did you think our date was over just because the sun is going down? Victor: Haven't I made myself clear? I belong solely to you, for every last second of today.

When we returned to the palace, night had already fallen. He led me to a balcony that had been cleared out of any other people, and instead standing there was…

Kate: I-is that a telescope!?

Victor: Correct!

Tucked away in a corner of the balcony was a telescope that stood about as tall as I was. It was the kind of device usually only used by scholars.

Kate: Why a telescope, though…?

Victor: It's your birthday present. I want to create a lasting memory you can carry with you, always. Victor: While I also don't mind gifting you things like accessories… I think you'll also enjoy experiences like this.

(So he spent a lot of time thinking about this and preparing everything… for me… I'm so happy I could burst.)

He beckoned me closer, gesturing to the telescope's lens.

Victor: Have a look. The weather is lovely tonight, you should be able to see everything perfectly.

Kate: Like this? …Huh? Everything's dark…

Victor: Oh dear. Seems it hasn't been adjusted properly. Let me see for a second.

Kate: Ah-

He swept close behind me, wrapping an arm over my shoulder and bringing his beautiful face close to peer at the device. Though he had a serious expression as he fiddled with the telescope's dials to fix it…

(What do I do, he's so close I can't breathe…)

I held my breath, as if even a single exhale would betray how my heart suddenly began to race.

Victor: That should do it. Give it another try.

Kate: A-alright.

Calming myself down, I leaned over to look into the telescope once more. And again, I found my breath catching, this time for a different reason.

Kate: Wow! There's a star that looks like it has an orange pattern!

Victor: That's the planet Mars. It seems that this time of year is when we tend to get the best view of it.

He chuckled upon seeing how excited I was, and took his turn to peer through the telescope.

Victor: How fascinating. To the naked eye it appears red, but in reality it is actually orange.

Kate: On that topic, what color do you think the Earth is? There are so many colors it could be, I wonder which it is.

Victor: While I don't know what color the Earth is… according to astronomers, Earth and Mars are very similar.

He beckoned me closer, and I moved to stand pressed against his side so that we could both look through the telescope together.

Victor: There are claims that Mars has an atmosphere and water, just like Earth. And not only that, but the speed of its rotation is close to that of Earth's as well. Victor: Based on observations, one day on Mars lasts for 24 hours and 39 minutes.

Kate: Really!? A whole extra 39 minutes? I'm so jealous…

Victor looked up in surprise when he heard the longing in my voice.

Victor: You think so? I was just thinking how 39 minutes isn't too different. And you said you were jealous…?

(Ah… well, that's true. It isn't that much of a difference when you look at it plainly.)

Kate: Well, I just thought that if a day on Earth matched how long a day on Mars is… Kate: Then today, I'd have 39 more minutes where I can have you all to myself.

Victor: !

Kate: That would be the best case scenario for me, I guess! I was just imagining what it would be like.

As I phrased it lightly, starlight gleamed in Victor's eyes.

Victor: …I'm really can't deal with this. You have no idea how you drive me wild.

Kate: Victor? …Nn.

Before I could say anything else, he captured my lips in his. He didn't give me even a second to hesitate, deepening the kiss as if wanting to steal the air out of my lungs, our tongues intertwining.

Kate: Nn… mm… wai-

Victor: I can't.

He kissed me again and again, changing the angle of each covetous kiss to prevent me from turning away.

(I- even though I know we're practically outside…) (I want more.)

Just when I thought he was about to pull away, he stopped so close that I could still feel his breath against my face. And then immediately, he pulled me in yet again and wrapped his arms around me. As he continued, my mind started to go blank…

Kate: Hah… ah, Victor…

I could only cling to him weakly as I panted shallowly, and at last he appeared to snap out of it.

Victor: I'm sorry, I can't help myself when you say such adorable things.

Kate: Adorable? All I talk about is how I selfishly want you all to myself.

Victor: You think that's selfish? Victor: If you knew the depths of my own greed and selfishness for you, you might even faint.

As he spoke in a low whisper while caressing my lips with his thumb, both my body and my heart began to quiver. He smiled softly, as if placating me for expressing my desires.

Victor: …The day that I decided to live for the sake of the country, I resolved to give up my freedom. Victor: The words you said to me when we met at that church gave me the determination I needed. But… sometimes, when I'm with you, I imagine…

Kate: Imagine what?

Victor: The life that an ordinary Victor would have lived.

Victor would not abandon his responsibilities as queen. He couldn't. I knew exactly how painful those impossible fantasies were. I bit my lip.

(But he still thinks about it. Is it because I told him I want to spend more time with him?)

Victor: So I suppose I am also envious of Mars. If I could have even just 39 extra minutes… Victor: Every single one of them would belong only to you.

Illuminated by the stars above, he pressed his forehead to mine and smiled. And I leaned into him, pressing closer like a puppy.

Kate: It's all right. I know how heavy the burden you carry is, and I understand that it's a duty you have to carry out. Kate: No matter what path you walk, I'll be with you every step of the way. Kate: Every minute of my life, every second… it belongs to you, too, Victor.

Victor: …You're always like this.

He whispered softly, fingers caressing my face like he was touching a priceless jewel.

Victor: I wished for your freedom more than anything else, and yet of your own volition, you chose to fly into a trap you can never escape. My reckless little robin.

(I suppose it is true that I'm bound by certain things now, but…)

Kate: I haven't done anything I haven't wished for. And even if you call it a trap… I know that my heart is more free than ever when I'm by your side.

Victor: …

Reflected in Victor's eyes, I could see my own face against the scattered stars in the night sky. And eventually, after a moment of silence, Victor's smile turned terribly soft.

Victor: Then may your heart always be free. Victor: Thank you for being born into this world. Happy birthday.

As he gave his gentle blessings, we fell deeper into each other's embrace. Surrounded by his warmth and scent, I made my final birthday wish. If Victor was determined to build this country from the ground up on the back of his sacrifice, then I would fly freer than anyone else in its boundless skies. But even so, in the end… The robin would choose to return to her beloved queen's shoulder to rest, always.

spoilers for kanbei's route (but surprise it's all about hisahide)

Chapters 17-19 or so of Kanbei's route are so funny because the game is constantly interrupting sweet moments between Kanbei and Mai to cut to Hisahide being a scheming sinister asshole. We get a kiss and a confession and a smut scene between the happy couple and every time the game goes "Meanwhile, here is Hisahide being Evil"

A selection of quotes about & by my favorite power-hungry control freak. What a fascinating character. I need to crack open his brain and find out why he is the way he is.

Kanbei: Hisahide is the kind of person who detests being subordinate to anyone else.

Hisahide: Ever since he [Kanbei] got involved with Mai, he's become untrustworthy.

Hisahide: You won't be getting your way, Mai.

Hisahide: The one who will rule Japan is me.

Hi! Since Ikesen eien is coming soon for en, can you give me a summary on each of the 22 guys on how their characters are? Like by comparison to ikevil or ikepri characters and how similar some ikesen guys would be to each other but with a different flavour?

Ohhh boy, this is a lot of characters, haha

I did my best with this, but my memories of especially Ikerev and Ikevamp are veeeery rusty at this point (and honestly some Ikesen routes I haven't reread in years so my memories of those are also dodgy) so I only stuck with what I could remember. Again, just my impressions based on my perception of these characters

I am trying to also keep these comparisons to early 1st route impressions + event story stuff so as not to spoil too much. Some characters could definitely go in different categories based on late route developments so keep that in mind.

So to reach level 55 it's about 358k points and the card is every 3k points after, so to +99 you need around 655k points........
