Random but when I was like 9 I was obsessed with Pete Wentz for like a month bc he kept appearing in gossip mags (this was around the time he married Ashlee Simpson) but I genuinely had no idea who he/his band was until like 2011 when I got into panic and fell down the bandom rabbithole
yeah he was independently famous from fob because he was constantly making tabloid news and linked to a lot of the y2k princesses like ashlee simpson and nicole richie and michelle trachtenberg and lindsay lohan. sort of paris hilton too but only because she was in that group, and he kissed kim k in a video and they stayed friends. hes said he was basically like a purse or an accessory for them lol, in the book theres a girl thats obv supposed to be one of them or a composite character and he says she was a cat and he was like a mouse she was batting around
