Some days, I wake up. I almost expect a call, a good morning, maybe even a note from...someone I can't say much more about. We weren't very... open. I miss having them in my life. Even if it was absolutely necessary that our relationship was.. terminated, let's say. It's hard to move on. But it's what had to be done. And I'd do it again.

It's an oddly hollow sadness. Mourning someone I discarded intentionally. I don't regret it. They're was no other way forward for us, there's no use in wondering what could have been if things were different, but I still do that so often. But we have to go so far back to change all that would need to be changed that I wonder if we'd even resemble each other anymore when all is said and done. Would I still be the person they fell in love with? Who they cherished? If the world was right enough that our secret affair never needed to end would we even recognize each other? I don't know, and I'm afraid I wouldn't like the answer if I did.
