46 years old, divorced, single parent of two great kids. NW Kentucky, USA. I lost my fiance and our baby girl in December '19. Whooo, it's been a long time since I logged in here. Been busy with school and my child. Oh and playing Warframe, again. Played when it first came out, then stopped and it was 7 years since I last logged in. Game is crack for geeks lol. Been doing well in school, but the heat is turning up now that we are past the first half of the semester. Lost over 30 lbs since school started. Still streaming on Twitch. Working on getting back to work, but balancing school and family. I planned on writing a bit more, but I ran out of sleep meds and have to wait a couple more days to get more. So I am tired af rn, and I am going to bed. Hope y'all are doing well!

Another week down.

This has been a challenging week for sure. My class buddy, Brad, dropped out from the program. I think he got scared after our networking professor started showing an attitude when Brad and another older classmate couldn't keep up. TBF he is going pretty quick, but it is expected that at this point we are used to computers and networks. Coding was a bit of challenge in homework. The wording of the projects could use some work. I get to talk to my sw prof tomorrow about it. I am not used to using Blackboard and Net Academy for finding out when stuff is due, and I missed a couple of projects. Turned them in late, but I hope he forgives us this once. Since when is stuff due on a Saturday night? Just weird. Maybe it is another typo. He does that.

My daughter is the real challenge. She is in the nasty teenage phase and it is beyond gross. If I let things go for longer than a week without constantly checking, it gets disgusting. She can't outgrow this stage fast enough for me. My son was nowhere near as bad. So after dealing with her bs today, trying to finish my programming work before it is due, and realizing that I had a late assignment in networking, I almost had a full blown panic attack. I managed to stay focused, and even shared my screen so my friends could see the crap i am doing lol. But by the end I was frazzled. LOL, my instructors think I am going to breeze by most of this, and want me to get my bachelor's and even master's. HA! Fact f-ing chance as of rn. I just want my credentials and certifications to make 2-3 times as much as I do now. Anyway, it is time for bed. Taking 10mg of Ambien now, and it helps a bit. Might have to find something else down the road though.

So the first week in college has been up and down, but mostly up. Got a solid leg up on the hardware and networking work. But I am picking up the programming stuff well. Python is a pretty easy language. Made a few friends, and my professors like me engaging with them, even correcting them lol. Might join the campus computer club. Sleep has eluded me mostly for the week. 4-5 nights of around 3-4 hours of sleep were hurting me. Caffeine pills and energy drinks got me through. Doctor finally prescribed me Ambien, and last night I actually slept through til the alarm! Daughter is doing really well in school too! She has made a lot of friends. She likes most of her teachers, and is actually going to school without a fight! She was diagnosed with ADHD and has started her meds. She is trying so hard and I am so fucking proud of her. We actually hug and say I love you more. Hopefully this keeps up lol.

Hope all of you are doing well. I miss tumblr but I am still working on issues and my therapist wants me off of here as much as possible.

Did you know that a flamingo’s jaw opens opposite of most animals? Most animals open their lower jaw to feed with the upper jaw firmly fixed to the skull. With flamingos it’s the opposite, their lower jaws are firmly fixed to their skulls with the upper half of their jaw being the one that moves when they feed.

He likes that I can find support here but thinks the exposure to the naughty stuff is effecting me. So I will try it and see. Can't hurt really. I will reply to messages as i see them, but I am uninstalling the app from my phone. I will be keeping my kik, and my usual sm accounts. Skipping the porn lol. I will update occasionally for the few people that care.
