Got to spend a bit of time today on my mine worker militia. It's a basic kit-bash with Catachan and Genestealer Neophyte bits with a lot of green stuff. I've made sure they've all got goggles or shades to suggest that they've spent so long underground that they can't really handle sunlight anymore. These are pretty much done. Comparing some desert camo I did probably about 6 months ago to some on a test model I did tonight. I'd like to think there's a marked improvement, all down to proper research of how the camo looks in real life and on well-painted minis, patiently testing and practicing on a bit of card and, most importantly getting feedback abd advice on here. #warhammerscratchbuild #warhammerconversions #warhammer40k Another conversion built around a diecast toy car. This one is intended as a counts-as Centaur Light Carrier. The Forgeworld model for this looks like an artilary tractor while this one is meant more as a small-capacity transport. It's based on a diecast toy I picked up in a charity shop for 75p I think and I added a few details with plasticard (the front hatch for example). I also scratch built the heavy stubber barels on the front and back. I'm not totally happy with them. I tried scratch building a full geavy stubber but could find a good way of getting it to come out of the front. I had a look at hull-mounted small guns on real tanks and they have these ball joint type bits so I went for that. Looks a bit like Dalek guns.

#warhammerconversions #warhammer40k #warhammerscratchbuild This is a conversion I've been working on. It's intended as a counts-as Siegfried, a tractor-cum-tank from the Epic 40k game. I don't think there ever were any Siegfried models for 40k. The conversion is believe it or not built around a Disney diecast toy from the Planes films that I got cheap in a pound shop. I scratch built the multilaser myself based on the Chimera multilaser. This would basically operate as a Chimera with just a multilaser and no transport capacity. I had a lot of fun doing this conversion and I've got a few more of the Disney toys from that range so I'll hopefully get some more done in due course.

#warhammerconversions #warhammer40k Getting there with my Taros PDF rough rider conversions. Did some goggles from green stuff last night that were surprisingly easy. Badically just flattening a small ball of green stiff over each eye and pressing into them with a bit of 1mm plasticard tubing. Could probable use a paperclip of the same diameter.

Did some work with green stuff on my WIP mine worker militia fighter. Used the green stuff to fill in some gaps around the tops of the boits where they'd been glued on and, most importantly, aroubd the torso to get rid of the ribbed look the neophyte torsos have. WIP mine worker militia, part of the Taros army I'm working on. This is a mix of the plastic Catachan kit (legs and head) and the plastic Genestealer Neophyte kit (boots, torso and arms). Will be doing some work with green stufdlf to get rid of the ridges on the torso and maybe adding some knee pads if my skills are up to it. First shots of my work in progress Taros Planetary Defence Force imperial guard renegade militia. Just need to get to work on the skin and hair, do some camouflage add some badges on the arms. The fluff behind this army is a development of the Taros Campaign narrative by Warwick Kinrade and Tony Cottrell from Volume Three of the Imperial Armour Forgeworld series. The idea is that these show how the humans on Taros have built up a revolutionary army in the wake of the campaign, perhaps even fighting to liberate themselves from the Tau. The inspiration is largely from the Kurdish militias and I've tried to run with the idea that they're not very well resourced and so have a mix of fatigues. The sergeant, special weapon and heavy weapon troopers are all magnetised and so can take any weapons that are appropriate, something else I need to finish work on. In terms of the conversions themselves, the bodies are from the Bolt Action WW2 US infantry set, arms, weapons and equipment from Cadian and Catachan kits from Games Workshop, the heads from Statuesque Miniatures, Anvil Industry and Games Workshop and the backpacks from Mad Robot Minis, CP Miniatures and Anvil Industry.
