I know it’s been ages since I posted, so here are some little watercolor night skies for anyone who still follows my account! It feels good to have the time to do some art for pure pleasure again

Latest watercolor painting! It’s based on a picture I took of a Sandhill Crane on a recent visit to the Maryland Zoo. Find it on Redbubble: https://www.redbubble.com/people/scharuhas
Watercolor pencil, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop. Side-by-side comparison of a venomous snake with a nonvenomous snake.
Watercolor pencil, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe inDesign. With this piece I learned that birds are significantly harder to draw than amphibians.
Watercolor pencil, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I actually made this earlier in the semester but had not gotten around to posting it here until now. It hangs proudly in the science hall behind a mounted mudpuppy skeleton

Oil painting. Completion of my previous post!
Oil on canvas. My first actual composition with oil paints - more to come!
A lot of artists go insane. Or a lot of artists are insane. Or the rest of the world is insane and the artists are sane. I tend to like that option

Watercolor. I was in the mood to paint today and this definitely didn’t turn out like what I had in mind, but I think I still like the result..? #watercolor #fox #foxesofinstagram #painting #whyarewatercolorssohard
New Blog
Hey I don’t usually make text posts, but I just started this new blog for things my Art Appreciation professor said this semester that I thought were worth sharing: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/myartprofessorsaid
Check it out and if you have any art professor quotes you’d like to share, feel free to submit them!
Didn’t get to shading today but since it is my last life drawing of the semester I thought I’d make a post about it. Usually when I tell people I have a class that goes to 6:30 twice a week they respond with condolences, but I’ve honestly enjoyed every minute of it. Life drawing is by no means an easy class, but is is fun and will stretch you artistically. Looking forward to continuing to practice the skills I have learned this semester in the future! #charcoal #lifedrawing @joshuawilsonart @natasha_fife @battlereadybabe @julimay1 (at Liberty University)

I want to contribute to Inktober but I have to practice drawing faces, so why not do both? #inktober #lifedrawing
