{ To those I owe replies to, I will get to them shortly!! Iâm taking some time to make another batch of icons, so once those are done Iâll get to work here.
Iâll also take some time to write up info about Vivienne, like family, history, quirks? All that good stuff in case any of ya wanna know more about her.

â Sweet Recovery â
âŠYeah, she was, for certain, in no state to take care of herself. Even walking seemed to be too large of a chore for her to do without help. Starlight, thankfully, seemed to be a serviceable crutch, but the way the blade wobbled as it braced her was not heartening at all. As she said, Jude knew better than to let her walk up the stairs on her own, even if that wasnât what she was trying to convey. âHey, jusâ let meâŠâ He went to her side, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to keep her upright. That would be easier. âLittle steps. Weâll just go ta the second level and set ya all settled in.â If there werenât too many people up there, he was sure he could set her up with a comfy place to rest in.Â
The trip up the stairs was pretty slow. Between the awkwardness of her still holding her keybladeâ which she didnât need to be doing indoors, but who was he to judge, heâd slept with his in his bed beforeâ and her wobbly balance, each step was pretty difficult to keep stable. âYou donât need to apologize, Miss. Itâs no trouble.â He assured her, sighing in relief as they got back to flat ground. âAll of us are workinâ hard for our Unions. Sometimes that hard work can get a little much. âS why we need ta take care of each other.âÂ
He gestured toward an empty chair and table in the corner, just where heâd said itâd be. âThere ya are. Get comfy. Iâll get started on gettinâ ya some food and water. What type of sandwiches dâya like?â Hopefully she didnât have any allergies. Mog wasnât good at separating food items out. He needed to give that moogle a talking to.Â
{â€} â The girl chuckled to herself at the manâs words. If only an ideal were true; itâd save her so much trouble. His words implied he was part of a Union, but if she had to be honest he really didnât look the part. She never woulda guessed he was a Keybearer at all. Then again itâs not terribly uncommon especially around these parts of Daybreak Town. Itâs not like youâre supposed to be obvious about what Union you belonged to either.
After finally reaching the second floor, Vivienne pushed her train of thought aside and focused solely on walking. Just as she leaned over to sit in the chair offered to her, Vivienneâs knees buckled signaling they just about had enough for the week. She sighed in relief though, thankful for the help and the relative quiet; the noise downstairs sounded more like a dull roar now. She smiled, but still held her head in her palm as the headache ceased to leave just yet.
âThanks... and, uh, sorry. For the trouble, I mean,â she mumbled. âAt this point, Iâm really not picky -- surprise me with whatever. A glass of water or tea would be cool, too.â
The girl curled herself up comfortably in her chair, leaning against the wall as she attempted to rest. Her Keyblade still didnât leave her side though, and she clutched it tighter in her fist as if itâd disappear at any moment. Technically it could -- thatâs how itâs supposed to work after all -- but she feared if it left her sight... Well, she wouldnât get it back. She wasnât willing to risk it after what happened. She had to be ready.
   What if she came back?
Vivienne shut her eyes tightly and shook her head, desperately wiping the memory from her mind. No more thinking about it. She needed to forget if she was gonna get better. Instead she sat in silence, counting the seconds in her head while watching the new storekeeper disappear down the stairs.
{ When in Rome }
[â„]â The gentle tug and sound of her voice was practically music to Kodaâs ears, a wave of relief hit him as he turned to face her.Â
âWhere were you? I was ready to file a missing persons report.â He asked, voice still with a hint of concern as he made a move towards his belongings. He pulled his bag off effortlessly and made his way back to the girlâs side in record time.Â
A yawn escaped him, he was still rather jet-lagged.
âWell, since yer in such a rush to get going, lead the way.â
âThe class if filing out so we should really start moving.â He continued, placing a hand on her back and ushering her in the other direction. If they were lucky, they could probably squeeze in a nap before noon.Â
At least, Koda was hoping they could, like⊠really hoping.
âI call the bed next to the window!â
{â€} â Definitely wasnât the reaction she was expecting from him. If anything, she was expecting a joking response back or at least something more lighthearted than that. She rolled her eyes.
âAinât gotta worry âbout me, I know how to--â Before she could even finish her quip, the man was already rushing her outta the door! What the hell?!
He had a point though; the class was already regrouping near the exit and they were just a few minutes away from being left behind. With a begrudged sigh, Viv pushed her way through the crowd, muttering whatever pardons she could spare in Italian. They reached the group just in time, for their next bus arrived to take them to the hotel theyâd be staying at. Of course, with not a momentâs hesitation, Vivienne stepped on the bus first and claimed her window seat again.
   ... Speaking of windows.
Once Koda finally dragged his tired ass to the seat next to Vivienne, she waited. He said something, but she paid no mind as she stared at the bus seat in front of her, waiting. Waiting very patiently. The bus eventually started to move after all the students (and professor) took their seats. Vivienne glanced over at Koda, and just as she suspected, he was trying to get comfortable enough to squeeze in a nap.
She pinched his cheek hard, tugging it a little.
âLike hell am I gonna let you take the bed next to the window. Iâll fight you for it,â she challenged in a low tone, âIâll also be taking your extra pillows, if you donât use âem. Thanks.â
â Vivienne & The Unions â
Below are Vivienneâs opinions of the Unions as a whole. This does not apply to all Union members and is based solely on my interpretation of the game and through personal experience. These are subject to change as the game progresses and we learn more information about each Union.
URSUS: She is prideful of her union and admires the belief of individual power over that of the union as a whole. Though she respects Aced and his adversity towards the race for Lux, Vivienne personally goes out of her way to collect what she can. She believes it will help her get stronger.
UNICORNUS: There is a vast difference of opinion between Ursus and Unicornus in regards to the race for Lux. Ira believes Lux is the key to saving the world, while Aced believes in individual power. Though the two donât clash as often, there is definitely a great divide between them. Vivienne personally hates the Unicornus Union and believes the only reason they try so hard is to steal the glory from the rest of the hardworking Unions. She feels they care too much for the title of âThe Worldâs Saviorâ and are far too destructive and merciless to be considered heroes. Ooh, how sheâd love to knock âem down a peg or five...
VULPES: Though neutral in opinion of Lady Ava, Vivienne has come to distrust many of the Vulpes kind. They are cunning behind that carefree facade and often sneak around behind other Unionsâ backs. Something about the contradiction between their Lux stats and their carefree attitude makes Vivienne extremely cautious around them. Of course, itâs often hard to tell who is in Vulpes and who is an imposter.
LEOPARDOS: Not many things happen within the Leopardos Union, Vivienne assumes, as they usually keep to themselves and stay under the radar. Sometimes they can be a little too reckless even for Vivienneâs liking, but she canât say much - she almost joined Leopardos after all. Though her opinion is rather high compared to the other Unions, that doesnât make her any less wary of their wildly impulsive nature.
ANGUIS: Ursusâ longstanding rival. Aced and Invi clash very often over their ideals, so it doesnât help that Ursus members are inclined to pick fights with Anguis members should they stumble upon each other. Some arenât so bad, Vivienne has met her fair share of kind Anguis members... but sheâd be lying if she said they werenât pushovers. What can she say? Itâs in her nature to pick fights.
â Blog Format â
Figured Iâd make a post for new followers, in case anyone gets curious or questions things I write in my starters.
This blogâs main verse follows a vague timeline, which in turn creates a long string of plot. It has various missions or phases throughout the timeline which follow KHUxâs format of story quests. Vivienne logs each mission sheâs on when she starts it, and at the end of that mission sheâll summarize her experience.
That said, if I write a starter set in the main verse, it will correspond to Vivienneâs current mission. I might reference previous threads, but these are usually kept vague enough so that threads wonât interfere with each other. This means you donât have to read previous threads to understand her mindset! If youâre curious, you can ask me and Iâll be more than happy to fill you in and spare details.
If you wanna know what Vivienneâs current status is, check the { status } tag. Itâll show missions and their reports as a reblog.
â At the End of the Tunnel â
There is Light.                         starter for @thalxssas
{â€} â A couple weeks had finally passed and Vivienneâs walls had just about crumbled, leaving her broken and vulnerable. She was no longer on guard duty so she was free to take on new missions if she pleased, but how could she? The nightmares still plagued her. Wounds that werenât physically there left cold phantom scars on her body. She was tired. She wanted rest. She needed help.
She found herself wandering back to Seaside Park more often. The combination of the waves and light mist in the early mornings gave her a small sense of reprieve. There was comfort hidden in the cool sand that helped her forget the pain. Relaxed and numb; thatâs how she felt. Sheâd stay there for hours and sometimes sheâd even allow herself to fall asleep. Just for a moment, long enough for the foamy reaches of the waves to meet her ankles at high tide to wake her up.
The beach had answers to questions she didnât quite know yet, she felt. If she stayed here longer, maybe sheâll figure out why she comes here in the first place?
Thatâs what Vivienne figured at least. And it took a chance encounter on that very beach one day to confirm that.
âWhatâre you doing here?â she instinctively said aloud to the other redhead standing at the shore. She was slightly taller and her hair a few shades darker than her own; but that wasnât what caught Vivâs attention first. This girl was a Keybearer -- one with an immense light that almost radiated off her skin. Vivienne had never seen such an intricate Keyblade before. It reminded her of someone elseâs, but the designs were much more intricate. Finely woven like silk, but sturdy all the same.
The Ursus member caught herself staring and she cleared her throat, matching her grey eyes to sapphire blue.
âI-I mean uh, I havenât-- er, seen you around? Here before? Are you... Are you new here, or...â Vivienne trailed off, finding herself staring once again at the girlâs Keyblade. Sheâs never seen a form like this before, and most other Keyblade wielders she knew from every other Union shared the same few forms among each other. Was there a Union out there drawing power from another form in secret? Or was this girl an entirely separate factor?
... Whatever the case, she didnât seem to pose a threat. Though bright, her aura felt welcoming; almost like that of an old friend (though she was sure theyâd never met before).
{ When in Rome }
[â„]â âYes I rearranged the class attendance sheet so that you and I would be partners on this trip.â He responded almost instantaneously, growing more amused with each passing minute.Â
âCâmon now, partnering up with me canât be that bad, now can it? Or am I going to have to put up with that face for the next two weeks?â Koda continued, pinky finger pressing itself lightly to the girls cheek before retracting itself swiftly.Â
No sense in losing a finger just yetâŠ
Yes if there was one thing Koda could be absolutely sure of, was that this trip would be far from boring.
Well at least, once they actually made it to Italy. The âgetting thereâ was a bit of a bore, and there were only so many naps one could take on a plane. The man yawned, trying to keep up with his class as they walked over towards baggage claim, what time was it anyway? All sense of actual time was completely lost on him.
âNot mine⊠Not mine⊠Not mine but sheâs not here yet soâŠâ Koda muttered softly to himself as he pulled Vivienneâs bag off the assembly line of assorted bags and luggage, still searching for his own through tired eyes. âSeriously, where is she anyway? Already avoiding me?â
He looked up taking a moment out of his search to scan the area, she did make it off the plane ok, right?
WorryâŠ!!
{â€} â Vivienne loved the idea of traveling, but after finally getting the chance to do so on her own, she realized something extremely crucial. She hated airports. They were noisy, full of people that were constantly moving, and the overall rush straight after flying for hours made her nauseous. All she wanted was to sit. And eat. And then pass out if the time allowed.
Although still frazzled, she followed the few classmates that got off the plane before her to baggage claim, where she saw Koda stickinâ out like a sore thumb. Tall and kinda lost. And kinda panicked? Whatâs his problem?
She quickly weaved her way through the crowd and tugged gently on Kodaâs sleeve to get his attention. She looked down beside him and noticed he picked her bag off the conveyor belt for her -- how nice of him. She scanned the remaining bags and noticed his hadnât made it yet. Ah.
âYâstill waitinâ on your bag?â she inquired just to be sure. Sheâd be in a panic too if her bags got lost on the way to a foreign country. With careful eyes, Vivienne watched as the remaining bags found their way into the line. âHey, I think yours just arrived actually -- way down at the end.â She pointed while simultaneously taking her phone out of her pocket to check the time.
   9:00am. Not bad.
âHurry up, the sooner we leave the sooner we can get to the hotel and crash or whatever,â she grumbled with a yawn. Deep down she knew they wouldnât catch a break that easily considering it was early in the morning and their trip has only just begun, but câmon. You really think sleeping on a plane was a good idea, professor?
â Sweet Recovery â
âItâs no problem.â Judeâs expression very quickly went from relaxed to concerned. This girl looked more than a little frazzled, her hands shaking, her eye contact wavering. It was such a thing heâd seen before, in others and in the mirror. A lack of rest, a lack of good food, and the stress of being a keybearer alighting the senses until everything felt painful and agitating, until you just wanted to curl up and sleep and not deal with the missions looming over your head. Every little thing could become difficult after that and this was not a setting that could make things any easier.Â
The way she was wavering on her feet definitely spoke multitudes on how quickly it was all catching up to her.Â
âMiss?â He started out, voice audible above the hum, but just barely. âWould you like ta sit down?â Just a gentle suggestion. He didnât want to make her any more anxious. âI donâ think a little bag aâcandy can raise yer spirits up any. Why donât I make you a sandwich or somethinâ. On the house. And thereâs a quieter spot in the balcony corner you can take a load off in.â He nodded upstairs, chewing his lip.Â
Despite him phrasing everything as a gentle nudge, there was no doubt in his mind that if she refused, heâd have to insist. Working hard for oneâs union was one thing, overworking was another. Whatever mission she had could wait. âWeâll get ya fed and watered, and then youâll be in ship shape in no time. Howâs that sound, Miss?â
{â€} â Though she knew his intentions were kind and his words rather gentle, Vivienne was well aware of the undertone of urgency in his offer. He seemed like a nice guy, whoever he was, and she could tell he was a quick thinker. That, or she mustâve really looked worse for wear than she thought she did. Either way, her brain reacted faster than her body could, thus her response was delayed.
Another wave of nausea overtook her senses and shook her body. A pounding headache played a steady rhythm against her temples to the beat of the bustle and it took everything in her power to stop the world from spinning. If only for a moment. She had to think. No. She had to respond. If she was gonna get out of here, she needed to talk.
âI... I wouldnât mind that. That sounds, g-- er, fine. Fine.â she waved a hand dismissively before clutching the counter again. Her vision started getting fuzzy around the edges again so she closed her eyes and rested it in one of her palms. âI think you know better than to, uh. Let me walk up those stairs on my own. Sorry for... the inconvenience.â
Not even bothering to wait for the pink-haired manâs response, Vivienne shuffled herself to the far edge of the counter, away from the register. She started her trek to the stairs very slowly and used her Starlight Keyblade to her advantage should she waver. The redhead hated to admit it, but she was a wreck. It was embarrassing and humiliating, but she didnât have the strength to complain. Not yet anyway. Perhaps in due time.
{ When in Rome }
[â„]â Just as he predicted, she got rather upset at him for that comparison but Koda couldnât help but laugh some more. Her reaction was almost better than heâd anticipated, she could be such a kid at times it seemed. How cute!Â
Ignoring her comment, he shook his head and smiled, keeping his eyes glued to his own phone screen for the time being. They went on in silence for a little while (though he was sure he caught her mumbling to her game from time to time), when Vivienne suddenly spoke up once more.
âAww, you donât wanna spend time with me?â he responded, a frown forming at the corner of his lips, eyes meeting hers for a split second before he broke off contact with a light chuckle, âHow sad, and here I thought we were becoming fast friends~â
Koda opened his mouth to continue, always enjoying their little back and forth, but the bus coming to a halt and the sound of their professorâs voice told him that it would have to wait.Â
Oh right, his travel partner.
Honestly, it really didnât matter to him who he ended up with, the man had no enemies and his class this semester was nice enough, so he zoned out for most of the sorting process.Â
That is, until a very familiar set of names were called.
âTacorde,Shyrade? Oh, right beside each other, convenient. The two of you will form group 6âŠâł
⊠Wait, say that again?Â
He almost wanted to burst into laughter at those odds, was she really the next name on the list?! Koda looked to his side, as it trying to gauge the girls state of mind. Again, he was totally unfazed⊠But Vivienne on the other handâŠ.
{â€} â The redhead side-eyed her taller companion with a disdainful look. She shouldâve seen it coming, but alas the universe just had to catch her by surprise. Yet again. She inhaled slowly. Was she really gonna have to spend the entire trip with Koda? Really? She held her breath. It took her a moment to register that amused emerald eyes were staring right back at her, gauging her reaction. She exhaled slowly and reclined back into her seat.
âYâgotta be kidding me...â she repeated to herself over and over again. The bus lurched forward again once the light turned green, and Vivienne allowed herself to slump back in her seat even further. â... Did you plan this? You planned this, didnât you. I shouldâve known.â
The girl pouted and kept her gaze on the window beside her, focusing on the passing cars and many trees that lined the side of the road. It was true that she and Koda were on better terms than when they started, but that was only because they helped each other in class. He helped her in Spanish and she rewrote his atrociously written notes in math. Otherwise, they really didnât know each other any better than before; she was just... used to his company, she supposed. That didnât mean sticking them together as partners on an international trip was a good idea.
Of course, there would be no way to tell if this things would fall apart until they actually got to Italy. Only time would tell.
â Despite Everything â
The young man was a bit annoyed by her asking him about this.  He had his reasons.  Silver was exactly too fond of the man he was named after.  While he wasnât necessarily a terrible man, there had been just enough tension between them to cause this behavior.  Whether it was a legit problem or not, Silver despised his true name, especially when coupled with âJunior.â  His face was even beginning to show it.
Despite his annoyance, Silver still answered them, trying to keep as much kindness in his voice as possible.
âI was named after my father.  ⊠Me and him donât.. see eye to eye..  You can probably figure out the rest.â
Another paused followed, before he explained why he joined the faction he joined, âI really.. donât know why I joined them.  I just did.  I had to get away from my father.  I heard about Unicornis and felt a strong sense of the Light flowing behind them and their leader or so I thought.  Iâm not actually quite sure about it, but Iâm willing to stick with what I feel is right.. I guess..â
{â€} â Vivienne rolled her eyes as Silver tried justifying the likes of the Unicornus Union. She mightâve been a kind soul who decided not to pick fights (even though she very well couldâve), she still couldnât see what made them so appealing. Her nose scrunched up in mild disgust, though her back was turned to Silver so it wasnât like he could see it.
âWell, it ainât my place to tell you what to believe,â she sighed, eyes cautiously scanning the area for potential danger as she led them both through Daybreak Townâs streets, âbut I can tell you somethinâ my own leaderâs told us before: âThe brighter the light, the longer and darker the shadow.ââ
A snide grin tugged at her lips at the thought. Itâs definitely not the nicest ideology to wrap oneâs head around, but it certainly left quite the impression. Sheâd be lying if she hadnât thought about what kind of dark shadows follow the Unicornus Foreteller, much less her very own Ursus Foreteller... But that wasnât her business.
âYouâd best be careful,â she warned, âWho knows what kinda deep, dark shadowsâll come creeping up on ya if youâre that close to that light, hm? Your namesake might even come back to haunt you if youâre not careful.â
âOf course, I kid.â Partially. There was some truth to her words, but the nice part about keeping a distance from people is that no one could tell when she was being genuine.
She surveyed their surroundings one more time, this time with much more caution. Being around enemy territory was never safe after all, but there was no telling where sheâd pop up again. A slight shiver shook her frame, but otherwise Viv kept her composure. She gave Silver a pointed look before speaking up again, âAnyway, weâre cominâ up on Unicornus territory so Iâll be dropping you off here. Try not to get lost again... At least not where Iâd find you.â
{ When in Rome }
[â„]â He listened carefully as the pre recorded voice played back. Koda nodded, a snicker escaping as he leaned back in his chair, rather amused with his findings.
âSounds familiar, doesnât it?â
âQuick, give me his name.â He instructed, having just a little too much fun with this little realization of his. Once given his full name, Koda cleared his throat making sure her attention was still on him before giving his performance.Â
âIâm Izuminokami Kanesada!â He declared strongly, hand to chest.Â
The man was sure Vivi was going to hate him a little for that, but he couldnât unhear it, as conceited as it may have sounded. He let her take that in as he returned his attention to his own phone, waiting for his new favorite app to finish downloading.
A quick peak out the window to see how far along the ride they were, from the streets they passed, it seemed they were about half way to the air port, he sighed, smiling softly. Hopefully she didnât give him the silent treatment the rest of the way there.
{â€} â The girl couldnât believe her ears, but there really wasnât any doubt about it. Koda sounded a lot like Izuminokami. Uncomfortably so.
Her face slowly started to burn.
âUgh, as if I donât see and hear enough of you almost every day,â she retorted, hiding her flustered face by hunching over her phone and returning to her gameplay. âNow I canât use this sword... Thanks a lot, asshole.â
Though her words were harsh, her voice wasnât nearly as abrasive. In fact, it sounded more embarrassed and defensive... in a helpless way. She wanted to say more, but at this point she wasnât sure what she should say. There wasnât a whole lot to talk about and they were almost at the airport anyway. Should she even say anything? Probably not, right? Instead she focused on her g--
   Nya!
Her head shot up at the familiar sound of virtual kittens. Looks like his app finally finished downloading.
âHey, congrats!â she said in a sarcastic tone, âGuess this means youâll be preoccupied for most of the trip.â Which also means thereâs a chance he wonât bother her... Not that he was a complete pain in the ass or anything, but a little peace and quiet on this trip would be nice. Really nice, in fact.
âOh, thatâs right! I should probably inform you all of your travel partners while I have the chance,â the professor called from the front of the bus. âTheyâre organized by last name, so--â
... Vivienne panicked. Oh no.
