I'm back with an actual gofundme this time because the bills just keep racking up.
He has FIP, which is extremely expensive to treat. I'm already about 5000 in bills, and his medication is going to be about 4000 over the next 3 months.

“Because.” Steelbeak says quietly, refusing to look away from the road. “You don’t deserve someone like me.” The word were firm. He truly believed it with every fiber of his being that after what happened Huey needed to be with people who wouldn’t strike him… accident or not.
“You deserve as… normal of a childhood as you can get. You shouldn’t have to grow up in FOWL because of some…stupid revenge plan I had.” His hands tighten on the wheel as he says it, hating to admit that his plan was not the smartest move he had pulled.
“You shouldn’t have to grow up around… me.”
✧ — ⋆ Huey continues to sit there, scared and unsure.
He knows that he had been a part of some kind of revenge plan... he knows that, but he always thought that he had been helpful outside of that. He had worked his way up to not only being Steelbeak's number 2, but a useful number 2. And now...
Steelbeak is getting rid of him? Because...
" You feel guilty. " he says it without thinking, and once he realizes that he had, he immediately flinches, like he's ready to be struck again.
✧ — ⋆ Huey continues to sit there, scared and unsure.

✧ — ⋆ Boyd takes his hand, and Huey helps him up to his feet. He’s glad he got the other boy smiling, he really doesn’t want Boyd to have to deal with his anxiety the entire time they’re like this. That would just be uncomfortable. And dangerous. The last thing they need is a trip to the hospital like this.
Yes, definitely a good idea to keep Boyd calm while he’s in his body.
Huey smiles brightly as Boyd looks on the bright side of things. “ Exactly! ” He says enthusiastically, Boyd’s chipper voice playing in his own ears. “ We’re best friends, we know where each other are, and we work well together, so we’ll be able to figure this out no problem at all! ”
At least he hopes so.
“ Step one is just… figuring out what happened. What’s the last thing that you remember? ”
With his anxieties ebbed further, it was much easier for Boyd to focus on his thoughts, specifically those regarding Huey’s question. Wow, thinking felt so strange in a body that wasn’t his own! Rather than having specific bits of knowledge or memory shot to the front of his subconscious in a matter of nanoseconds upon request, everything was so…blurry?
He wasn’t sure if that was the correct term, but it did feel like most of his memories were now being seen through a foggy lens. There, but so out-of-reach and difficult to bring forward at will.
…Come to think of it, it wasn’t all that different to how they had worked before their trip to Tokyolk. Minus the glitching, thankfully.
Still, recollecting his thoughts to what had happened before the swap was a bit of a challenge.
“I…I know I came to the lab for my weekly checkup with Dr. Gearloose,” he said aloud. “And we met upstairs in the parking garage and decided to come down to the lab together.”
An easy thing to remember; it was near impossible for him to forget any sort of memory that involved spending time with Huey.
✧ — ⋆ Huey nods his head as Boyd speaks about what they had been doing.
" Right, that's the last thing I remember too... " But with the amount of clarity that Huey remembers it in, he feels like he should remember more past that, shouldn't he? He should be able to forget things, not in Boyd's body. His memories are all code now.
Which... is kind of a terrifying thought and he should put a pin in that for now.
Regardless, someone would have to delete memories for Huey to forget things now, which means... He's not sure. But nothing good.
" Our next move then, since we both remember the parking garage, should be to go look at the security cameras from the parking garage all the way down to the lab. Everything should be caught on camera. If there's one thing my uncle doesn't cut corners on, it's security. "

Sometimes that’s how he acts, but other times he doesn’t act like that at all… So I don’t think he’s really scared of me in any capacity. ”

✧ — ⋆ Huey’s eyes widen as the rope he’s hanging from is grabbed just moments before he’s falling towards his - maybe not death, but definitely nothing that he’s interested in. His eyes move up, and with surprise he sees Cots there, slowly pulling him up.
“ Oh, Cots! ” He says with surprise. “I’m much better than I was a second ago.” He lets out in a small laugh as he’s pulled up over the side. “ I thought I had made a better knot the that... Oh.. ” The tree branch he had latched his rope onto had been rotted. He hadn’t been able to see that from the bottom of the small cliff... “ Thanks for the help, but what are you doing out here..? Not that I’m complaining, just surprised. ”

Huey rolled his eyes at Jayden’s jump to revenge. It would be nice, but it just wasn’t viable. Not really… He pauses, his lips pursed as he looks out at where the Beagle Boys are down, completely unaware that they were being watched. Huey still had the bruises on his arm from the last kidnapping attempt, and it’d be kind of nice to get the drop on them for once.
“ If I were to attempt some form of revenge, not saying that I am, but if I were to, what would you suggest..? ”
{ ☆ } Eye rolling does nothing to deter Jayden’s enthusiasm, if that’s the right word for what he’s feeling. He’s certainly excited at the prospect of some vengeance. But it’s a different type of excitement. It’s not like preparing a song to sing with Huey, or listening to one of Carroll’s poems, or when a teacher announces that a test has been cancelled. No, this is more reminiscent of waiting for one of Tyler’s packages to explode in a mess of chaos and comeuppance. It’s more… bloodlust.
Metaphorically, of course.
Still, the glint in Jayden’s eyes could be considered troubling, fury bubbling beneath a deceptively-juvenile demeanor. Cheeky smirk hiding layers of less-than-legal or morally-sound ideas that are quickly shoved aside in a flash, Jayden hooks an arm around Huey’s shoulders, leading him behind a nearby tree just to ensure the meandering Beagles don’t catch glimpse of them. ❝ Well, hypothetically… If we were gonna get revenge, I’d want it to be something that’ll stick around for a while afterward. Y’know, just to even the score. ❞ Oh, Jayden has heard about the failed kidnapping, courtesy of his green bean best friend. If there’s one thing Jayden knows, it’s that the Beagle Boys don’t exactly handle their packages with care.
If Huey has to deal with the aftermath, then so do they.
❝ Now, I’ll skip over my more morally-reprehensible ideas, for both our sakes. And I’ll brush over things that might be a bit ambitious, like unleashing a bear on them. ❞ Although he does stick a pin in that for later. ❝ Personally, I’m thinking something along the lines of a classic pit-trap. Then we got ‘em in a neat little box that we can fill with all sorts of Mother Nature’s goodies. ❞ Free arm outstretches to the abundance of nature around them, Jayden marveling at the stroke of luck at running into the Beagles here of all places. If he were alone, he’d be curious about what they’re up to. But at the moment, he only wants to make their lives a living Hell… Priorities, y’know.
True, luring them to a trap would be a bit of a risk, but with their day-to-day lives, Jayden figures it’s nothing he and Huey couldn’t handle.
❝ ‘Course, I’d recommend setting up a few tree snares here and there just in case one or two get wise. Although, the little one seems like the only real risk there, if I’m bein’ honest. ❞ Nudging Huey’s side with his elbow, Jayden teases, ❝ It’s always the little ones that are the smartest, huh?~ ❞ Clapping his hands together, he then points at Huey and adds as if taking ideas during a business meeting, ❝ Anyway. That’s just my initial idea, but the floor is open to suggestions! Don’t be shy. No idea is too big or too brutal. ❞ { ☆ }
✧ — ⋆ Huey's face turns a touch red as Jayden wraps an arm around him, but he follows along as he leads him behind a tree. It doesn't make his face any less red, but he can understand the need for privacy in a situation like this.
He only regrets asking for suggestions a little, after all, the look in Jayden's eyes is... intense, but Huey is starting to get quite annoyed at being kidnapped. And He's starting to think that the little one is starting to hate him in a way that's a little creepier than it should be. The way he glares at Huey sends a shiver up his spine that he does not appreciate.
Huey hears Jayden out, listening to his idea in full, making sure not to agree or shoot anything down too soon. And it's with his idea that Huey remembers that there's a reason that Jayden is Louie's best friend. He's a schemer, just like Louie, but far more ruthless.
A little scarier.
But at least he's scheming in Huey's favour. And it's just a little hot, but he shouldn't think that about his brother's friends.
"A pit trap?" Huey asks, raising an eyebrow. It's a little simpler than Huey had excepted, but sometimes simple is all you need. No need to over complicate things. It's just a little bit of easy revenge, nothing more than that.
Or is it..?
" You know.. " He says, looking off in the opposite direction. " There's a pit of poison ivy over behind those rocks... It would be awfully unfortunate if some of it ended up as the bed of the pit... " He lets an overly innocent look take over his face.
『 ❝ what about this... boop... ❞ 』 but it's actually a hug. you fell for his trap.
✧ — ⋆ " I've got to admit, I didn't see that coming. "

" Stop, you're just saying that. " A small, shy smile turns his lips up even at the dismissive words.

Now that I’m able to.
Those words are spoken and Huey’s temper spikes. He can feel it consuming him, banging at the door he kept it so carefully locked behind and taking away all rational thought. He couldn’t keep it back. He’s not sure he’s trying very hard anymore as every nasty thought and comment he’s ever thought of or about his mother surges to the front of his mind all at once.
His temper comes out in the form of a loud, sarcastic laugh. Almost a bark, bitter and angry. “ Hah! ” He looks over his shoulder with a glare. “ And who’s fault is it that you weren’t able to before? ” He asks in a scathing voice.

▬▬▬ ☾☆ Della couldn’t help but tense up at Huey’s response. This was exactly what she was afraidof. But reacting that way was not the move to make. She needed to stay strong. Weird how often she told herself that even without being on an adventure these days.
Despite the way Huey was addressing her, she hadto answer honestly. What he was probably thinking was the truth. There was only one person to blame for this.
❝ I know it was my own fault. I won’t deny that. I never tried to. But I’m here now. ❞
✧ — ⋆ Huey keeps his face averted, his eyes squeezing shut as he tries to reign his temper back in. He has to try harder than this. He has to be better than this. He can't just lose his temper. He has to be mature, and calm and-
He takes a deep breath, tries to listen to his mother despite the pounding in his head that just wants to yell.
" But that doesn't change anything. You still did it, you chose to leave. " The words are still angry, but they're restrained this time.
Steelbeak only looked down as Huey screams and grabs at his coat.
“We don’t have time for you to come up with something Huey.” He says, and he tries as gently as he can to try and pull the other’s hands off his jacket.
“It’ll be okay kid. Just… trust me on this, okay?” he keeps trying to reassure the other, and when the other looks up at him with tears running down his face, Steelbeak feels his heart ache.
“You’re a good kid.”
✧ — ⋆ " Stop saying good-bye, you're not leaving! You're not doing this! " Huey is still yelling, still crying. He refuses to let Rufio sacrifice himself for him. It's not happening. Not if he has anything to say about it.
He tries his best to keep holding onto his shirt, but the rooster has always been stronger than him.
" Just stop it! I'm not listening to you! I'm not letting you go! "
✧ — ⋆ " Stop saying good-bye, you're not leaving! You're not doing this! " Huey is still yelling, still crying. He refuses to let Rufio sacrifice himself for him. It's not happening. Not if he has anything to say about it.
He tries his best to keep holding onto his shirt, but the rooster has always been stronger than him.

Huey’s expression looks a bit crestfallen. He hadn’t realized he was being suffocating. He hadn’t realized he was doing anything but being a good big brother. But maybe he’s not as good at that as he thought, if this is how Louie feels.
That revelation only tightens Huey’s lungs a little. It’s fine.
“ I’m sorry that I’ve been… suffocating. I can… step back a bit. ” He doesn’t want to, he wants to stay by his brother’s sides, make sure they’re safe and healthy and happy, but he won’t do it if Louie doesn’t want him to.
