Lovely comment I got on my post about not knowing how to draw Xiyang without spoiling everything ever (which I will probably still draw him for myself anyway) and so I present you the no Hibiki au

Drew a Hibiki for comparison because I can 😭 but Xiyang obviously is very much himself: long hair, hanfu/embracing Chinese culture more openly, not forcing his emotions. He also of course is not affected by Boss in this au so his eye is normal. I think in a world where Hibiki never existed, Xiyang would have lasted in the council for 50 years at most, and I’d say even that’s a stretch. He fails to see himself as a leader which makes him not a very good one. But also Xiyang is a pretty nice guy, so of course he gets more encouragement from his fellow members opposed to Hibiki. I think Xiyang’s stint in the afterlife would be more so one of acceptance of how his life ended up. He would loose his bitterness over time and maybe even learn to love himself with the right people in his circle. But also I think in this reality he probably would have never come to terms with his sexuality/never had any sort of romantic feelings for anyone. This is mainly just due to the fact that he would have spent his time working on himself and the voices in his head. Also just another weird thing to think about is that most members of the council + the ones before them might have never been chosen by Xiyang AKA they never became council members…

also drawing this was very fun because I kinda imagine this is how Hibiki sees Xiyang in his head/dreams/hallucinations anyways. Because in Hibiki’s head Xiyang is very much in control of himself, just not anything else lmao. But of course in Hibiki’s head he doesn’t really get much character development does he.

OKAY BONUS QUESTION THAT MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY SELF-INDULGENT I'M JUST CURIOUS

Do you think any of your OCs would get along with any of my OCs? If so, who and why?!?!?!?!?

mmmm hard question… I think Kitty would get along with the girls (Sun, Eloise, Jaya) just because I think they could have fun doing makeup together or something sweet like that…

I think my oc Will might get along with Zephyr weirdly enough, they're both not as talkative and smart, but also I think they would have a good laugh at something dumb with one another. Like I think they could get along very casually.

I already mentioned Jaya but I think her and Sinnead would get along great...they're both calculated and a voice of reason. Like they would chat over tea while complaining about men dykwim

this might be a crazy one but Santino and Santiago...I think Santiago would be intrigued by him and not very threatened just because he's quiet and slow in movement. I can't say Santino would feel the same or not but I picture them sitting in a room quietly together while Santiago writes and Santino reads or something of that sort.

Petrov might get along with Grant but Petrov is very intense about being violent and on guard at all times so he might see Grant's sweet side as "weak" but otherwise I think he would find his thrill-seeking habits fun. Also I think Raymond would feel the opposite about Grant- enjoying the sweet side but not so much the thrill-seeking side if it comes to violence.

Not necessarily getting along, but Pascal and Jökull are both very similar in the sense that they're sporadic in personality but I don't think they'd get along. Actually Jökull would probably find Pascal annoying and vice versa. Now I think Sophia would like Pascal. Sophia isn't unpredictable but she knows how to deal with that behavior. She would be there to cheer him up but also go batshit crazy with him when the vibe is right.

I'm honestly not sure what oc of mine would get along with Raymond unless it was some crazy obscure pull of someone nobody's ever heard of. My first instinct is this dude named Endo who is from some story I've only vaguely mentioned on here. He's very technical in like building prosthetics and stuff or just in general liking working with tech but he's a little kooky. He's not really like Raymond but I think their smartness would go together well (if that makes sense?)

Just a coinkydink that they both died at 20, obv Xiyang like 100 years before Yrjö did but yk. The small things can bring people together.

Yrjö at that point was very frail, hair always tangled because he couldn’t take care of it himself and there was too much going on for that to be his parents priority either. Constantly in the hospital and just not feeling very good about life. Xiyang was pretty much as usual, death kind of came unexpected to him anyway. Just a military rat nobody had any respect for. He’d been feeling worse as of recently though, not able to sleep because of a voice that plagued him. Besides a lot of…things…had happened, and he feared for his life every day. But no matter what he just did his job day in day out.

What instruments would the ghosts play if they could and why? [this is assuming none of them play instruments already....] Sorry I'm always asking music related questions it's like always the first thing to come to my mind 😭

There is only one character who plays an instrument and it’s Sun. When she was alive she played piano but she no longer cares to play. She never particularly liked piano because she wanted to be a singer but her parents wanted her to be a pianist instead.

Hibiki wouldn’t play an instrument. He doesn’t particularly enjoy music at all. He prefers silence opposed to noises.

Eloise would probably play something really elegant like a violin or smth. Maybe piano as well. Those instruments just give high end royalty vibes to me (she’s not royalty she just likes the aesthetic)

Raymond…I don’t know tbh…he could fit a lot of different things. I think I’m leaning towards like a bass guitar or something of that sort. Something energetic but laid back if you get what I mean?

Yrjö I know for certain and it’s a kalimba. Those things have such a good vibe and it’s exactly the type of calming thing he’d enjoy. (I actually own a kalimba but I struggle to play it 😭)

Jaya would play a flute I think and I don’t have a particular reason for that I think it’s just vibes. I can see her fluting away with some like fairy-esque melodies…

Taro would play guitar sorry it’s just destiny (but like electric guitar not one of those acoustic ones)

Sophia would kill it with the drums omg do you see the vision

I struggle to imagine Santiago playing any instrument tbh…too wrapped up in his writing lmao

jökull would play some obscure bullshit but I feel like it would be something with strings… or he would play one of those fucking. You know the bowls that make noise. He would play that too.

found some kid that my friend showed me the account of and in their blog intro they said that they had “obsessive cleaning disorder (OCD)” and I was like hey not what that means it’s actually obsessive compulsive disorder and it’s a big misconception that it’s just about cleanliness so could you change that please thanks and they changed it to “cleaning ocd (cleaning disorder)” ITS NOT A CLEANING DISORDER!!!! IT IS A DISORDER ABOUT COMPULSIONS AND INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS!!!! It would better the community if you would state OCD and then explain what this has to do with anything. I don’t even think this person doesn’t have ocd from what they explain; they wash their hands religiously which as someone with ocd I do that too! A lot of people with ocd do!!! But characterizing a whole disorder around one trait you have just carries on a stereotype that continues to be why this disorder is not taken seriously.

Again it’s just some kid, I can’t imagine they’re older than 13-14 but still when I reach out being like hey can you please change this so that it’s not misconceptualizing ocd and you change it to pretty much the same thing you had it before just worded different I just. sigh

Maybe I shouldn’t be mad about this and I’m wrong for feeling this way but I am a little angry

Only one of them is even OC related, the other ones are just “what’s up” and “you’re so nice” which they’re so simple that I struggle to answer in a way that isn’t self deprecating or like one word or some dramatic full blown response because I feel like I have to to be entertaining. Does that even make sense. My art account is for art so I feel like my posts either have to have art in them to constitute posting or have to be important in some way shape or form. Also my art account is supposed to be like “official” so I feel like I need to be more uptight there for when I post (dykwim??? Like professional is the word I want to use but I’m not like. A robot. I’m just a person but also I have more structure on the main account)

also I have obscure rules for myself about my main blog especially when it comes to posting. Like unless certain circumstances are right I CANNOT post multiple days in a row. That’s like taboo for me. And sometimes I want to post something and I’m just like hmmm no you can’t do that. You must wait until the conditions are Right. And the conditions being “right” literally don’t mean anything. The conditions could be right on a Thursday afternoon three weeks from now but I have no way of knowing until my brain decides it’s correct.

this is all to say sorry if I take forever to answer asks on main it’s just how it is…and that isn’t to say I don’t like asks I love asks!!! They make me so happy!!! That includes the simple ones!!! I just. Struggle to respond to them.
