first impressions ✿
Isla instantly shot one of her eyebrows up in slight confusion, yet folded her arms around her chest as she tilted her head sideways slightly as she was facing him. “More like people thinking they can make it big without even trying one bit,” she hissed back at him as a reply. She had probably taken his words a bit too personally, and maybe her reply was a bit harsh — especially considering it was his first day, and she shouldn’t make him feel like he wasn’t welcomed.
That was what she was told from the first second she got her contract. Don’t even try to do the same thing as you did with your other co-stars, he’s new, he’s talented. We need him — she had just rolled her eyes and simply agreed, before signing the papers for her contract. Maybe it had been a tad of jealousy. She wasn’t interesting enough anymore after her debut, she had become regular, normal. But maybe it had just been the fact, that for some reason she never made good first impressions. Isla was the kind of person, that wouldn’t think a second about the words escaping her lips and that may or may not have worked negatively for her. Guess she had to live with that, eventually.
With a gentle smile plastered on her face again, Isla had walked over towards some of the writers, before her make up and hair was quickly fixed up again. Only moments later, the rest of the cast was called out and asked to come forward as the whole production was about to start.
Reed worked hard to get where he was now, working on his first big movie, actually getting a chance to do something he's been dreaming about ever since his mum forced him to join drama club when he was thirteen. He refused to go to it at first, knowing that there will be people who would laugh at him for it, especially if they found out that his mum made him do it, so he skipped the first two lessons, until his mum had to physically drag him there. The first ten minutes were horrible, but as time went on and he attended more classes, he found himself enjoying acting and being able to be whoever he want to. In high school, he joined the theatre class and went onto studying drama in college. It was hard getting roles, considering how many people there were to choose from, so being able to do a movie this big with people that were well known in the business was a big deal to him.
He's been warned about Isla's, er, attitude towards some people, both by people who hired him and friends who were up to date with the thing happening in the media, stories about Isla being a bitch, her getting fired, and so on. Reed didn't think much of it though, assuming it was just an image created for her by the media, and that the girl was different in person. He wasa wrong, obviously, but the girl's attitude towards him wasn't going to stop Reed from doing the best he could in the movie.
The plot of the movie was simple enough to understand, but still something quite original. Both of the main characters, Reed's and Isla's characters, were at a party, when one of them spotted their ex with someone new. Not wanting to seem like they haven't moved on, they found the other character and asked for them to pretend to be their partner for the night, and act like they were fake dating. When the first person's ex spotted them and came over and started talking, they acted like a couple and it was fine until the ex and his new partner invited them to a double date. Reed was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard someone calling the cast over, and took in a few breaths to calm himself down, because this was really happening, he was playing one of the main roles in a movie.
