Short Bio

Reese was always ahead of other kids intellectually. Before he went to Hogwarts, he’d already read his way through most of the required reading for his first year’s curriculum. The Hat wanted to put him in Ravenclaw because of his high intellect, but his drive for perfection and ambition won out. Reese always hung around the older kids at school, and kept to himself most of the time, preferring to be around a smaller group of close friends. He was prefect and eventually Head Boy, and played quidditch. After graduation, Reese went to muggle university to study law and he teaches there now part-time when he’s not working as a defense attorney.

“Oh really?” Marcie asked as she leaned against her husband. “Every time I went to your guest lectures, I couldn’t focus for the life of me,” she chuckled and turned around in his arms so she was facing him. “Yeah, just need to tidy up and prep for tomorrow classes,” she nodded and pulled him down by his tie so that she could kiss him. Marcie pulled away and nodded at the soil bags she needed him to carry over to the next greenhouse. “Come on,” she spoke, smiling at him innocently. Sure, she could have used magic but where was the fun in that?

“Oh, I know. I noticed.” He smirked when she turned in his arms, leaning down when she pulled on his tie to meet her kiss. When they broke apart, Reese’s gaze fell to the bags and he rolled his eyes playfully. “So, we’re doing the thing where we ignore we have magic? Right.” He winked at her and went over to pick them up for her. “Lead the way, Your Majesty.”

“If I had someone that looked like you as my professor, I might have actually paid attention in this class,” he mused as he stepped behind Marcie. Reese smirked and kissed the side of her head. “Hi. Was that your last class?”

Marcie woke up to the sounds of pans, pots and laughter coming from downstairs. Actually surprised that everyone managed to wake up long before her. “They seem to have fun, don’t they?” she hummed to Mistletoe relaxing on Reese’s pillow and ruffled her fur before grabbing her phone. She went through her birthday messages, answering to each of them before the door to the bedroom opened and she saw her husband walk in. “Thank you,” she smiled against his lips. Her smile widened even more when Toby and Gene ran inside the room, holding their gifts for her. “My precious little loves, thank you!” she cooed at them and wrapped her arms tightly around their sons. She pressed kisses all over their little faces before looking up at Reese, letting out a small snort at his words. She tasted the waffles Gene/Reese made before showering Gene with compliments about his superb cooking skills and Toby’s amazing flower composition skills. “Now I have all of my boys here and I couldn’t have been happier about it,” she said, leaning against Reese, while still holding the boys. She enjoyed the moment while it lasted before the boys jumped off the bed to play with Olaf and Pumpkin when they ran into the bedroom. “So,” she started and looked up at her husband. “Ready for the party on the weekend?” she asked, mouth full of the waffle she was currently eating. 

"Classy,” Reese remarked with a smirk at Marcie’s mouthful of waffles. “Mhm, guess so.” He shifted so she was resting against his chest and pressed a kiss to the side of her head. Reese slid his arm around her. “We’ve had a bit of a break, I think I can handle it.” He gave her a teasing look, gaze falling to their boys. Gene had morphed into a weird hybrid of both of their dogs and let out a breath. “You know what would be a good anniversary gift?” Reese looked down at her. “Sending them off to your grandmother’s for a week.”

“Hi,” he smiled as he walked into the room, finding his wife awake. Reese leaned down to kiss her. “Happy Birthday.” He stepped back when he heard little feet behind him; Toby holding flowers and Gene holding a tray with breakfast (that was being protected, and partially carried, by magic.) ‘Happy birthday, mama,’ Toby said and dropped the flowers in favor of crawling up on bed with Marcie. Reese rolled his eyes and picked them up, before helping Gene with the tray and subtly shook his head. “Whatever he made, I switched it out,” he said softly, so he wouldn’t hear. “If I left it, it would have been your last birthday.” // @accioavocados​

“Oh, so now you’re regretting marrying me?” Marcie gave him a look, pausing for a bit as if giving him five seconds to take back what he said before a big grin appeared on her face. “Relax, babe. We just need to stay here for one more hour. Two at most,” she looped her arm around his bicep and gently tugged him down. “And stop looking at me like that. I’m fine,” she told him, half genuinely and half not. While New Years had hit her way more that she expected, she was determined to squash those feelings, with various results. “I’ll just go hang out with abuelito, if you don’t stop looking at me like a beaten puppy. He’s not a bad company,” she added with a small smirk.

He just gave her a blank expression at the mention of her grandmother’s boyfriend. “You think you’re getting to me by saying stuff like that, but you’re literally attached at the hip with your ex, so I’m not really sure what reaction you’re wanting at this point,” Reese deadpanned, just looking at his wife. He groaned and sat beside her. “Why do we have to always be social. It’s not the holidays anymore.” Reese looked at her again. “And I wasn’t going to ask if you were okay, but now I feel like I need to.”

“That’s why you’re my lawyer,” Hugo rolled his eyes as he leaned back in his chair. “You’re here to make illegal legal, aren’t you?” he added, smiling brightly at Reese.

“We literally just spent two weeks straight together,” Reese just looked at his little brother, before letting out a sigh. “What did you do?”

He let out a breath as he cut the other off, mid-sentence. “I feel like if you start off a sentence with is this legal, it most likely isn’t.”

“So,” Emmett said as he walked up to Reese, handing him one of the drinks he was holding. “Not sure if i should be more worried about the extent of this man’s mommy issues or their daddy issues,” he mused with a playful eye roll as he nodded at their spouses giggling and gossiping about Marcie’s grandmother’s new boyfriend. @reese-weasley·

“Yeah, well. I’m not sure if you’re really the one who should be passing judgement,” Reese replied, brow raised. He smirked and took the glass from him. Reese followed his gaze and rolled his eyes when he saw them. “I’ve given up trying to figure out what goes on in their brains. I feel like if I could see into them, I’d be scared.”

“Ava’s main present is still in Uncle Perc’s stable,” Marcie deadpanned as she helped Toby put the new gingerbread house up and glue them up with icing. “Hold here, baby,” she instructed him as she put his hands on the cakes to hold them up, while she poured icing on the edges. She stayed silent when Reese kept talking. She didn’t even need to mention anything and he already knew what was bothering her. “I know,” Marcie sighed as she moved on to help Gene with his house. “But see, I need to let it all out now when they’re not here so that I don’t explode later on,” she added, leaning slightly into her husband’s side. “It’s just unfair as fu–,” Marcie stopped herself before she could finish and before the boys could hear it. “I just wish we could do more.”

“Your cousin’s gonna love that,” Reese commented, brushing some icing away and out of Toby’s tangled curls. He watched as Marcie helped their son with his gingerbread house, sighing when the conversation turned back to Nari. “It is unfair,” he agreed. He couldn’t imagine the boys losing one of them before they even learned to walk. Reese wrapped both arms around Toby at the thought. “I always figured it was worse for Emmett because he’s a doctor. Whereas someone like you and I would take a good result at face value, he knew the deeper layers. I just hope it all doesn’t get to Cass, too.” He pressed a kiss to the top of Toby’s head, looking up when Gene waved to get his attention. “It looks awesome. Good job, baby.” Reese smiled and reached over to ruffle his curls. “I’m glad we decided to do this, though.” He looked back at his wife. “I think we all needed it.”

Marcie rose her brow when she saw the mess in the kitchen and her boys being even messier. “Yeah, I’m not dealing with bedtime tonight,” she chuckled and pressed a kiss to Reese’s cheek. “Look at those gorgeous houses, though!” she grinned as she spoke to the boys and ruffled their curls. “Should we now build a small house for Olaf and Pumpkin?” she asked, getting an over-excited yes! in response. “So, this is our last evening before everyone gets here,” she hummed, her attention turning back to her husband briefly. “Did you hang up the decorations outside like I asked you? We also need to figure out where to store all the gifts so that the kids don’t find them. I swear, I need them all to come at least two days later,” she spoke, letting out a breath. She wanted the holidays to go as perfectly as possible, especially knowing how important having a great Christmas was to a certain someone. 

“Tobe. Ease up on the candy, bud. Put them on the house.” Toby made a noise as if that idea physically pained him, but did as he was told. Thankfully, his wife’s suggestion took their son’s attention away from shoving everything into his mouth. “I did. And I’m pretty sure with a few witches and wizards under one roof, we can figure out where to hide the presents. Also, I think Ava’s the only one we really need to worry about. But babe,” he looked at his wife with a small smile and shook his head. “You did great last year, you are this year. I know why you’re doing it and the most important thing is that she’s okay enough to come. Besides, we can’t act weird or anything about it. Because then Emmett will spiral or something,” he said, knowing his best friend was on edge and rightfully so. “And Dylan will because he is, and then you will because he is, and it’ll be a never-ending circle.”

“Thank you so much for coming with me today! You’re probably the only person I know eve close to YJ’s size and I don’t wanna get the wrong thing.” Alice laughed, but it was more of a nervous laughter then anything. She was stressing over what to buy people for the holidays on top of all her other stress. 

“Am I? I feel like I’m a little -- I dunno, bigger?” Reese pulled a face, in lieu of a better way to say it. “You know, you could also just get him something that doesn’t require an accurate size.”

“Tobe, you need to wait until they get onto the -- “ he trailed off when his son ignored him and started literally inhaling the gumdrops off his plate. “Okay. Nevermind.” Meanwhile, Gene was seated on Reese’s lap -- so he could be closely supervised -- working on his gingerbread house that was shockingly well-executed. “He scares me,” Reese commented as Marcie walked in, watching Gene fix his house. He glanced back at Toby. “That one also scares me. But for different reasons.”​

“I don’t think Gabe started changing quickly either,” she hummed before looking over at her cousin. “He’s too old to drink like that, he’s going to regret it tomorrow and we will make sure Ava wants to keep Olaf overnight,” Marcie smiled sweetly at her husband, before leaning into his kiss. “I know, but now you can use my head as an armrest, though.” At the mention of her uncle and his intimidation methods that he had chance to perfect during his auror career, she let out a bright laugh. “We’ll see how you’re gonna act when Ilsa brings someone home, babe.”

Reese hummed at his wife’s words, looking over to where Gene was sitting with his cousin -- feathers and all. “I mean, I get it. Gene makes me a borderline alcoholic.” He looked down at her. “i could already use you as an armrest, babe. I just value my life and never tried it.” Reese smirked and kissed the top of her head, rolling his eyes as he pulled back. “I wouldn’t do that. Besides, her mum’s scary as hell when she wants to be. Whoever she brings home will be dead and gone long before I get there.”
