I tend to hc that considering all the shit he’s gone through he actually was kinda uncomfortable with just the triforce mark on the back of his hand bc it felt more like a reminder of his trauma than anything else? but after he returns to hyrule post-MM, he eventually decided to get a tattoo while over time and conversations with the gorons and zora became a full tattoo sleeve. not 100% happy with it but the general idea is there...

I think he would be a little happier, bc now it’s not a reminder of his trauma, but a reminder of the connections he has. the kokiri, gorons, and zora are all important to him.

i’ve finished owl house season 1 so more AU thoughts after talking with my friend (keep in mind i haven’t seen any of season 2 still but s1 spoilers warning!)

vaati and octavo are twins. astor is their older brother. absolute chaos family.

when they were younger, vaati and astor both wanted to join the emperor’s coven. however, astor and octavo were the only ones who got invited to join- and octavo didn’t even want to, he went with the bard coven instead.

vaati was Real Angy about just that entire situation,

he’s got a bat curse! the person who cursed him was [̴̘̝̝̲̌̅̂͌r̴͖̰̾̾̐͋e̸̩͍̐̃̕d̵̛͇̺͊ä̵͔̳́̚č̸͖̝̘̭t̵͎̓̂̔͑ẹ̵̛̘͊̈̿d̸̤̻̞̖̊̒͘̕]̶̡̯͗͑̿̒

vaati and octavo made palismans for each other bc they got along well when they were young, vaati’s is a mouse-bat and octavo’s is a parrot!

(undecided on astor but i like the idea of a crow or vulture)

octavo is now leader of the bard coven, astor is leader of the emperor’s coven, vaati is a wild magic witch who refuses to join a coven

i dont know who King is but i think that shadow (4 swords) could be really funny and would be a neat dynamic to explore of “chaotic af and shit-talk each other but are still found family” between vaati and shad

luz in this au could be my friend’s OC kay who is perfect in every way i cherish her

he’s less evil and more just “cackles maniacally as he steals a cupcake and runs back to wherever the heck he lives because he thinks he’s the greatest villain of all time but really he’s just a nuisance”
