Sometimes being in the SPN fandom feels like I'm the only one who actually loved the ending. It was fitting- Castiel, who never said anything about his feelings from fear of fucking it up finally letting them out because he knows it will save Dean, and Dean who never were able to say I love you not being able to at that moment either, loosing the one opportunity he had to.

It's just perfect in my eyes. I would have HATED it if they had ended up together, because canon simply doesn't do it as good as fanon
