[4/4] Our "Old School" Collab Process ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When we created this design, we were still doing things manually since we don't have an iPad yet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The lettering should be done first. So when we got the quote to be included in the design, I already started creating the initial sketch. What you see in the 1st photo was the pencil sketch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After doing that, the sketch was scanned and I created a layout in Photoshop. I placed the lettering together with the logo of the client so we can include it in the final design. I left the space for the doodle art. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Once the layout is done, I will just print it so my wife can start working on adding the doodle art around the lettering. At the same time, I can now start adding ink to the lettering sketch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then once both are done with inking, I scan both again to combine them both in Photoshop. There were a few cleanups done but overall it still maintained that hand-drawn feel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's why I really appreciate how we can do everything now using @Procreate app. We did have another project like this where it was a huge lifesaver, especially when handling revisions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'll share that in a future post. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #handlettering #doodleart #sketch https://www.instagram.com/p/COfgJX4rSDU/?igshid=1s5spoa20rlgm

[2/2] I always wanted to create a concert shirt with a list of all the bands included in the lineup. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I must say that the challenge with creating this design is when all of a sudden, the lineup changes because a band had to cancel. 😅 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But it was fun to arrange the names and make sure that each one is readable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, the font used in the lineup was a subtle tribute to Chris Cornell. [1/2] Fete De La Musique was an annual event to celebrate different music genres. There are simultaneous gigs happening in different venues where fans can go and watch artists play their original music. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Back in 2016 & 2017, I was part of the production that handled the Rock Stage and this was the logo we used for our posters and merch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I remember that during the time I created it, there were several rock icons who passed away. So I thought of creating something that was also a tribute to those legends. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The lettering was done in May 2016 and I thought of 3 icons that we just lost. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rock was inspired by the gothic font in the Motorhead logo as a tribute to Lemmy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stage was inspired by the font used in the Purple Rain album by Prince. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The lightning bolt was inspired by David Bowie. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In a way, I want the 3 elements to come together so I really need to go through the hand lettering route to achieve that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #fetedelamusique #rockstage https://www.instagram.com/p/COLI_4VH8tu/?igshid=15qp6ef0s7co6

Logotype design for the name of this guitar pedal. This was a brand owned by a friend of mine and he is building these by hand. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wanted to give the logo the same feel as the famous guitar amplifier brands that this pedal is trying to emulate.
