I made a new character. He's based off of a stuffed animal I used to have that I called Karate Dog.

These references are from an ebay listing.

I liked the middle picture the best in my initial sketch because of the proportions, so I decided to draw him again.

For the second draft, I kept the proportions, but I added some pads on his head and hands because I wanted him to be safe. I like how his ears stick out even tho that's what the helmet is supposed to protect. I didn't like the thumbs on the gloves in the full body picture because it took away his cute puppy paws and made it look like he had disgusting sinful human hands. I always liked that he was gritting his teeth, so I kept that. I like it when something can be cute and cool at the same time.

This is the last draft I did. I made him a little taller on accident, but I think it turned out really cool. I might have ti shrink him later tho. This time around I got rid if the thumbs on the gloves and kept the original design I had. It's sleeker and cuter and easier to draw. I went for a more rounded look on the helmet to make it appear softer. I gave his gi (karate outfit) a simple design with stripes. I referenced real gis for that. It also makes it easier to see his chest fur sticking out. Coloring his helmet did the same for his tuft of hair. I gave him shin/foot pads to protect him more. I also made his tail more round and soft.

I really like how KD turned out on this last pic. I had a lot of fun designing him. I hope I can show him to people more in the future.
