âThatâs a fine-looking high horse.â @regmulciber
âYou suggesting my confidence is misplaced, Bellamy?â
mclciber:
If Eleanor hadnât been so preoccupied with the ill fitting dress she might have realized her sister was within earshot. Panic set into her bones like ice water but her face was a mask, it always had been. She swallowed the venom her sister shot at her, she always had. âYou have no idea what youâre talking about.â She said it without malice or really any interest, but she knew things, sheâd seen and heard things her sister had been all too happy to ignore.
âHas it been so long that youâve forgotten which one of us knows more about fashion coordination? Your cheekbones do not go with organza.â Reggie plucked up her nose in distaste. âBut, then again, Iâm not really surprised, considering youâve never been able to say no to her, have you?â Reggie refused to refer to her mother as such. Mama Ahn was her mother now, and she would only refer to her with such a title.Â
mclciber:
âActually it is one of Reginaâs hand me downs so no Iâm not fond of it.â
Turning her head to interrupt the conversation, Reggie commented, smile snakelike, âItâs not fitting for your form anyway. But they   â  She refused to refer to them as Mum and Dad. âAlways did seem to think we were interchangeable. I donât see how, considering I wouldnât let them use me as a doll to dress up as they pleased.â

âThen donâtâŚâ Leonie replied before her eyes shifted to the new person, a wistful sigh leaving her. She wasnât sober enough to feel annoyed at Reggie but she was arrogant to think that Regina hand come wanting the same thing that the other two did. ââDo you want to kiss me too, Regggie?â She liked the attention now whether she would sober was a question left unanswered. Leonie reached for the glass again, frowning when she realized it was empty. âSo which of you is going to get me another one??â
The other girlâs appearance made whatever sad pathetic hope Katharine held out for tonight turn into a deep seeded self loathing. What wasgoing on here? Why was she pursuing Leo when she could so obviously see that she was in no state to be pursued by anyone? Maybe tomorrow Kat could blame the punch, or even Omega, but right now, looking at both Reggie and Leo, the girl couldnât ignore the fact that sheâd almost made a huge mistake.Â
âI-I think youâve had enough, Leo..â, Katie tried, looking warily that Reggie.
Reggie was beginning to grasp the situation. Kissing, alcohol, not a good combination with Leonie. Especially when there appeared to be some slimeball guy in the mix of all this too. Though he also appeared slosh. The other girl, Katharine, did not seem to be i the slightest, however, and that sent up red flags. âYeah, I would say sheâs had enough,â Reggie agreed icily, swooping over to grab the empty glass from Leo, holding it out, accusatory. âIs this laced with amortentia too or are you just the type to take advantage of the drunk?â
katharine-the-pure:
leolestrange:
Leonie squinted at the girl in front of her before looking back at the boy that would normally be about ten meters to close to her. âKaren. If you wanted to kiss me you could have brought me a drink like the rest of them.â She shrugged her shoulders, finishing off the glass the boy had brought her. ââUnless you wanna watch or something???â
âWhat?â, Kat asked incredulously, her thoughts not quite keeping up with Leoâs slurring words. But eventually Katharine recognized that the beautiful girl in front of her was too sloshed to even remember her name. Was Kat really so desperate for companionship that she would take advantage of Leo in such a state?Â
âI-I..â, she started still unsure of what to do, before it dawned on her that she was absolutely that desperate tonight. âI donât want to watch..â
Reggie had made her way through the crowds, having skipped on the punch that was clearly laced with a mixture of potions. How unsafe was that? This was meant to be a fun party and Reggie wasnât one to typically turn down booze. But only when she was in control of its consumption. Clutching onto her hand purse, Reggie took a step closer to the scene that she stumbled upon. She saw the glass that Leonie had discarded, the boy who looked a little dazed, and Katherine who looked a little too opportunist. â    Whatâs going on here?â

âAnd now Iâm covered in colors.âÂ
âSorry about that. I somehow got roped into helping with the decorations for the ball and the confetti just...slipped.â
yasqveen:
@regmulciber
âNo, I think it fits you.â
âThanks. My mother would have had a FIT if she were to see it. Part of the reason I chopped it all off, if Iâm being honest. But I do like it. Easier to manage.â

âYes, carefully calculated unions that value mutual advantage instead of being led by something as hormones. How stupid.â
âIâm glad you realize how stupid they indeed are. Treating people like they are a commodity in an outdated system that has nothing to do with advantage. What is this, a game of chess? This is life and we hold the cards. And not all of us are so easily swayed by hormones and if we are, so what? Here I fancied you were a sex-positive individual.â
(Â leolestrange: )
âYou left and you promised how many times that it was be us four together forever. Nadia and Amma are too busy with your new family and Iâ Iâm the one thatâs left behind.â She shrugged. Leonie was hurt and if the week hadnât been so bad, she might have fought Reggie on the issue but she just didnât have anymore energy. âIt is what you are saying. Itâs what everyone says. It doesnât matter. Me and my feelings donât matter to anyone â they never have.â
"Things change. People change. Relationships change. Thatâs just how it works.â Pursing her lips, Reggie let out a long sigh. âThey havenât left you behind for Lance and Kiran. Just because they want to be macking up on them doesnât mean you are any less important to them.â She couldnât believe that she was being forced to defend Amma and Nadia. âI donât know who has been spoonfeeding you that shit, but your feelings always matter. Speak up if you want your voice to be heard. You got a problem? Tell them because otherwise youâre just going to end up feeling even worse.â
(Â giselerousseaus: )
âNot even amoureax. I think your kind is much better suited to fuck.â
âMy kind. Considering itâs your kind that just settles for arranged marriages and shit, I donât think you have much room to talk.â
(Â mcllyii: )
âtrust your own judgement but, that looks pretty damn illegal to me.â
"I know youâre Head Girl and all, Weasley, but word on the grapevine is that you also know how to have fun. So whatâs a little mixing some hot chocolate with marshmallow vodka? Donât knock it until you try it.â
(Â giselerousseaus: )
@regmulciber.
âFirst off, you cannot pull off the word lovers.â
"Would you rather me use amante? Or is that not my speed either?â
(Â hellfirc: )
&&.  â â That has got to be the best thing Iâve heard in quite some time. â
âItâs really not that amusing, Moon. You should be on my side. The gal pals just had to get their prim and manicured nails in my boys. The irony is...okay, maybe a little laughable.â
(Â kirankhans: )
âNah, Reg, I legit need some quality K.Khan-RegMulcy time. Manâs in deep shit for no fucking reason, butâŚâ he paused for a second, biting down on his lip as he scratched the back of his neck. Heâd always felt bad that him and Lance had gone to pursue Reggieâs two ex-best friends when things were still so hostile between them. She was family and if sheâd wanted them to stop, they would have, but she hadnât, so Kiran assumed it was all okay. âYo, two out of three gal pals are bare vexed with me, Reg. And, I mean, the third one is always vexed at me for fucking breathing, so that doesnât count, but yeah⌠Youâre sick with these situations, you know. Gandalf-level wise, and you know them the best, so I need you to tell me why theyâre mad with me. Amma was saying shit about what happened over Summer â straight pump, man, you know they werenât an official ting, but she moved out! Said we werenât friends anymore and shit. Her ârents proper clapped as well, so itâs just all fucked.â He sighed, frustrated and sad. âBumped into N.Z. in the owlery, turned into Madini real quick, Reg, no gas. Well, I did panic and try to lie. You know, mans gotta cover for his boi, but heâd already fessed up, and thenâŚâ He laughed softly. âIâm so fucked, Reg, I started laughing at myself because I tried to lie to Madini. Thought a vein was gonna burst and ruin my new shirt, you get me. Never saw anyone that mad before, which means she must be proper upset, and you know weâre not about that life, Reg.â He looked around the Common Room cautiously before continuing. âI saw you chat to N.Z. earlier today, looked a little Madini, too. Did she tell you why sheâs vexed?â
The whole situation was almost laughable. Sheâd left the gal pals behind to pursue a better life for herself and she didnât think they would have a place in that new life. Yet, the family that she chose had then in turn chosen them. And Reggie couldnât even truly begrudge Kiran and Lance for that. She even considered the idea of being happy for them, but her pride and protectiveness got in the way. With Kiran there asking for proper advice, however, her ego deflated. âIâll take Gandalf since Iâd rather not have to talk like Yoda even though heâs the superior mentor.â Did Reggie still understand how Amma and Nadia truly thought? Maybe in some ways. âYouâre throwing a lot at me here, so let me digest it for a second and Iâll regurgitate it in a way you ought to understand with any luck.â The whole situation was clapped. She would defend her boys until her last breath, but they had one goofed in a bad way. âI know you two always mean well but you can be rather dense, you realize? Thatâs why itâs good you have me around to slap some sense into you.â She clapped a hand on Kiranâs shoulder, patting it. âAlright, straight talk. No pun intended. Listen, the whole thing over summer? Was proper shitty. Nadia isnât the type to play around. Sheâs got her pride and Lance stomped all over it with his Calvin Kleinâs. And you thought Amma was going to be cool with that ish, especially when you were an active participant? Nah, Kir, thatâs her best. Her Day One Gal, you feel? Just like you felt you needed to cover for Lance, she had to stick up for her girl. And you do realize that acknowledging that you had to cover for Lance means that you recognize on some level that he did something wrong, yeah?â Even Reggie knew that. She let out a sigh. âIt makes it look like all the while, you both were yanking their chains, being insincere. And thatâs not you boys. Thatâs not what youâre about, I know. But you gave them plenty of reason to doubt that. Official or not, Nadia and Lance were going somewhere. With feelings and the whole package and Lance got cold feet. Made Nadia look like a feel and you donât make a fool out of a Zabini. Thatâs why she was so mad.â There was more to it, too, but Reggie wasnât sure she ought to put all of that out there. But if it would help Kiran see the situation more clearly... âShe didnât tell me in so many words, but I know her well enough to know that sheâs mad at herself too. Sheâs not over Lance, but she would have to swallow her dignity in her eyes if she were to forgive him. And thatâs a bitter pill to swallow for girls like her.â And me. âYou want to make this right? You gotta prove youâre genuine. Canât take one step forward just to jump two steps back because youâre allergic to commitment. Amma and Nadia arenât going to dance around like that. They arenât looking to tango. Not in this, not with you guys. Theyâre looking for something proper, like the waltz or somethinâ. You get me?â
(Â leolestrange: )
ââOkay. Iâll let it go.â She wanted to cry and yet the one time that she felt was appropriate she couldnât let herself do it in front of her. (At least she would try not to.) âFine! Youâd just leave again anyways â just like everyone  else. So it doesnât matter. Nothing matters. âJust tell me wh-why is it always me that gets left behind? Please tell me so I can try so much harder for people who donât care about me.â
Reggie didnât get where all of this was coming from. She knew that Leonie was sensitive, but she didnât think that the girl felt that abandoned. She didnât even bother defending herself as she was sure this wasnât just about their breakup anymore. âWhat are you talking about? You have Amma and and Nadia. Theyâve never leave you.â For all the flack she gave the other two girls, she knew that to be true and she could admit it to Leonie at least. âIâm not     Iâm not saying it doesnât matter.â That you donât matter. âSometimes, things just donât work out and we have to know when it doesnât so that we stop hurting ourselves and other people trying to get it to work.â
(Â leolestrange: )
âIt wouldnât be so bad right? Toâ to just leave. It isnât that hard, right?â She asked, though she knew the answers to those questions. âI miss you. I donât care what side youâre on. Justâ come back.
"It is hard, Leonie. You have to give up everything that you grew up with, your entire foundation. And you have to build it all over again on your own. And once that line is crossed, once you draw it in the sand, you canât go back. I canât come back. Iâm not that person anymore. So, just, please, for your sake, let it go. Youâre going to be fine. We both are. You just have to let it go.â
