A Script for an Animatic I Don't Have Time to Make
Zelda's Confession
Scene One:
We see Zelda, short haired and in her TOTK dress, in front of a large mural depicting ancient text and drawings. They appear to depict numerous battles through out Hyrule's history. She's carefully studying it and appears distressed.
I don't know what to do
Thought I was righteously leading our people, but
Now I'm faced with the truth
What kind of leader can't tell good from evil?
Scene Two:
Zelda looks down at her her hands; we close up and find a piece of Gerudo jewelry in her palm, a necklace that appears to have been broken.
All those poor souls, how many could have been saved?
How could I trust in a justice so cruel and depraved?
Scene Three:
We close up on Zelda's face, which goes from a sad, contemplative stare to surprise as a light shines behind her. She turns, and we see the semi-transparent vision of Hylia in all of her Godhood, large and imposing.
One seeks an answer that one can not grant her
You're looking for light only you can ignite
Scene Four:
Hylia walks and Zelda follows, trailing them down the long mural and ending at a mirror. She dissolves into specks of light, leaving Zelda to see her reflection.
Every transgression must serve as a lesson
Yesterday, you drew sorrow
What will you do tomorrow?
Scene Five:
Zelda's face falls from curious to despondent. She looks away from her reflection before turning her back to it, resting against the mirror, head gently clunking back as she look up.
I feel no wiser than when I commanded the slaughter of those sons and daughters
(You can't hide)
How can I be sure I don't repeat more massacre based on mistaken conceit?
(Look inside)
Scene Six:
We see the back of Zelda's head as she turns her attention to Hylia, who is patiently watching her. Zelda takes a step to her, a hand out-stretched imploringly as she speaks.
If I stand down and leave us exposed, would that be blind to the threat Hell may pose?
Scene Seven:
We close up on Hylia as She speaks. The camera turns until we see the back of her head, flicking with flames, and Zelda's expression, which slowly goes from quiet hope to desperation.
You can't know, though time flows on
So you must bear the cross bestowed upon you
Scene Eight:
We're over Hylia's shoulder for another close up on Zelda, who has put a hand to her chest as she steps forward.
Scene Nine:
We pan out and see that Hylia is floating away from Zelda, who begins to run to catch up with her. She goes to clutch at her wings, but the moment her hands make contact, a large light sprouts up, dissolving Hylia's form and leaving only her typical stone depiction in Her place.
Give me a sign, what's your guidance?
Please show me the way
Scene Ten:
We see the last of Hylia's light fading up in little orbs. Zelda watches, heartbroken, before resting her forehead against the statue, slamming her fist against its stone.
You speak of choices made by other voices
You can only atone (Tell me how to atone)
Once you speak with your own
Scene Eleven:
Close up of Zelda's face, eyes squeezed shut and shoulders bunched in frustration, her fist still curled in a ball against the stone.
If souls from damnation
Can earn their salvation
Zelda opens her eyes, calmer and sadder now. She looks down to her now opened palm. The camera stills on her palm, stained with little traces of blood.
And find their forgiveness on high
How do I?
