I was so excited to see that I could do one more card for the amazing @sameasthem’s project on Silent Hill taro deck. And I was super happy that I got to do Eileen too because she is one of my all time favourites.

This is The Queen of pentacles.

She is usually depicted sitting on a throne so I had to draw Eileen sitting on the couch of the room 302. The queen is normally holding a coin but it was super tiny so I cut this idea out entirely. This cards iconography also implies a rabbit sitting at the foot of the queen’s throne. I had to make it Robbie the rabbit ofc!!!!!

The theme of this card is nurture , caring, generosity and a mother like figure. I think Eileen embodies these traits perfectly. She is a secure, stable and balanced person. She is the most caring neighbour of the apartment complex in the game too (she is the first to notice that something is wrong with the new tenant of the room 302). While others were afraid of little Walter (e.g. Andrew) or angry at him (e. g. Richard), Eileen was kind and nurturing towards the little boy, even when she herself was in grave danger. As a little girl she showed real Walter what kindness was by giving him his doll, a piece of her own happiness.

The reversal of this card signifies that all the care and nurturing should be directed towards oneself as to as avoid burnout. We are most generous, kind and caring when we ourselves come from a place of care, balance and abundance. Otherwise giving too much might lead to unnecessary sacrifice. Eileen mirrors that very well, because in-game the more damage she received the easier she was for Walter to possess. In the end her kindness was exploited and she was made to sacrifice herself in order to fulfil Sullivan’s ritual, even if it meant the loss of her life.

That was a real head scratcher cus baby Aemond is tiny but granny Vhagar is huge!!!! But what if Laena showed little Aemond her dragon that later will be his?
