Learning of Maxs death. - Max x Gabe (TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME )
"Sofi, Regresa aqui en este instante.” [ The Spanish duke yelled as he chased after his daughter, his voice echoing through the halls of the Spanish castle. ] “Come on now little one, ye know the rules no playing with your brother’s swords. Ye have your own, so please ye go apologize to both all three of them si? For papa?” [ The man cradled his child in his arms as he kissed the top of her head. Who would have thought? that he’d ever be able to play the part. Him, the boy who grew up knowing nothing but rejeciton from his own but despite it all he was good at it. Splendid at it and he often spoke that his children were the greatest accomplishments of his life. All of them, the little one in his arms always the most special. Sofia struggled against her father’s grip for a moment and he laughed only to be interrupted by a guard. Immediately Gabe’s face went pale, but he turned over to his daughter and dismissed her before standing up. His mind panicking, was it Victor Gabriel? Had something happened to Maxarina? The thoughts were racing in his head but nothing prepared him for what he was about to hear. ] “Your Grace...”
“Que pasa?” [ He struggled to push the words out and his blue eyes displayed concern, fear and anxiety all at the same time. ] “Su Majestad Maximiliano..” “No..” [ Gabriel spoke interrupting the man who was speaking he knew what had happened, he had spoken with him of Maxie’s fears... but this was Maximiliano his best friend. He had more lives than a cat they both did and now. He couldn’t comprehend what he was hearing. The man he had come to see as an ally, a confidant and a brother was gone. The sudden rush of emotions were far too strong for the Duke to hold in. He didn’t know what to do, where to go.. so he paced in circles. Not saying a words but his eyes, they spoke volumes.. as there were glistening with unshed tears. ]“No. No. No.” [ He repeated to himself as the guard bowed before leaving the Duke feeling lost in the middle of the Spanish hallway his thoughts ran to Maxarina, and then to his nieces and nephews, the children.. even Addison crossed his thoughts. He had to go, be there but he couldn’t leave his God daughter either. Gabriel felt lost, memories rushing forward each one of them stronger than the next. They had started their lives ad odd’s with each other and he had often sworn that he’d never come to trust the man, or to care for him as more than a skilled fighter but he had been wrong so completely wrong because he had become a vital part of his life even with a country between them. Being miles away from each other, this was his brother, much more so than anyone had ever been and now he was gone. He didn’t have the security of knowing that he was out there, being himself.. Maximiliano.. the invincible King of Portugal. As Gabriel had often joked, it was then that a sob fell from the man’s it was a hushed sob but a sob nonetheless and one of his hands curled up into a fist. “Mierda Maximiliano.. what will I do? What will we do? What the fock?” He felt like a child again, he had just lost one of the people who believed in him the most. The man who had been there to tell him that he could rule a country, and the one who had calmed his fears about being a father. ][ Someone who brought a tremendous amount of light into his life, light that he didn’t know how he’d ever repay but he’d try his best and he felt like it wasn’t done. They weren’t done, they still had things to do.. things to see. Their children married for one, enjoying their grandchildren together, finding a way to get rid of the Scottish twit who was after his daughter. ] “You weren’t finished yet Max..” [ He whispered his head in his arms as the tears kept falling from his eyes. ] “Maldita sea... this better be another one of your pranks you ass.. “ [ But he knew that it wouldn’t be, it didn’t feel like a joke it was finite, all too real and the ache in his chest was hitting him furiously.. which left him no choice but to let it in. If only for a few seconds before standing up and wiping his tears away. He’d keep his promise. He’d be strong, he’d be strong for Maxie. He would be there for her and council her anyway he could. Because he had promised to do so, and because she came first. His own grief would have to wait. ]
