One of the many reasons I loved the dream SMP was 1) because it was comprised mainly of pvpers and speedrunners, with hardly any building or redstone specialists, and 2) entering the End was forbidden and the End never factored into the SMP at any point. It led to a lack of resources and infrastructure that gave the server a medieval feeling to it. Players who accumulated a lot of resources usually did so through solo grinding. No one could make communal resource farms because they'd all be at risk of becoming pieces in the geopolitical war games, and/or being destroyed (I think the only piece of communal infrastructure that survived unscathed was the underground spider farm near the Eggpire). People didn't have elytra, and roads were constantly being destroyed, so the primary method of rapid transportation was Riptide tridents, which as far as I'm aware is pretty unique to the Dream SMP and showcases the really awesome and interesting alternatives that can develop in a no-End lategame. God the dog-eat-dog worlds that a bunch of bored men create are hell to live in and absolutely marvellous to tell stories in. The SMPs with End access and reliable resource reserves and infrastructure just can't compare.

do you think she ever flinches around scott. and he cocks his head and asks her what’s wrong, in the exact same tone that he said “quite easily” after ripping his claws into her back (he’s changed. he’s changed. he’s changed). and shelby laughs it off and tries to move them past it, looking at drift with something deeply loving and almost pleading, wanting drift to just let it go

Its hard to capture what it was like watxhing ctommy dying live. Because we were like say sike rn but it was canon. The screen went to black. We watched for days him in prison. He screamed to c!sam for help. He died to a potato, painful bludgeoning. Ans then cc!Tommy raids Philza who turns to the clip and laughs like HAHAHAHA HE DIED TO A POTATO while me and the inniters on call throwing up on the dash. Ans then its like surely not you knoe then I watch every pov mourning stream ctubbo, cranboo, ceret, cjack, like its boom boom boom boom vine boom suicide then Im like okay okayyuuu im gonna be okay they fucking 3 days later tommy is in limbo with fucking cwilbur and he gets yanked out by cdream like holy shit his abuser can kill and revive him agsin and he gets out unable to handle light or touch due to limbo and death and he is angry how celebrated he was when he died and hated when he was alive. Like 5 years ago today was a moment you cant unsee live.

female mcyters rarely play the same roles that their male counterparts do in terms of antagonism/conflict in mcrp, because those that do end up buried in a shitstorm of comment section misogyny, which reinforces that rule by discouraging them from doing so again. the range of acceptable female character dynamics that won't get you dogpiled is so pitifully narrow that you can't even, like, kill a fucking pig. let alone another person. and god forbid you make an intentionally evil character choice on Evil Character Choices SMP, it's completely fucking over for you. meanwhile the men get to do whatever they want to eachother and to you, but if you fight back, everyone in the audience from the redditors to the genderfluid tumblrinas decide that you're the crazy one. like i'd love to analyze and write stories about women in minecraft world where the core issue is something besides misogyny, but you people literally won't give me anything else to work with besides toothless yuri shipbait that still won't pull 80% of the fandom out of the yaoi mines. i'll keep painstakingly extracting compelling narratives out of unintentional implications because it is my passion and my life's work, but i really wish my range of options wasn't so limited.
