Some DAHL eggheads tried to evict AI Jack from Helios by making holes in some Very Expensive Places. Rhys helpfully remote-stabbed him through the data core with a few suspiciously well-aimed probes. Regretting it a bit now. Jack rated it 8/10: 2nd sexiest time he’s ever been stabbed. Points deducted for not even trying to make it look spontaneous. Borderlands modern au where Rhys and Angel are both programmers for the same company. Angel is a child prodigy, having gotten a full time programming job at only 17.

Rhys basically becomes her work dad. Making sure she eats, and that the other guys don't perv on her, and occasionally he'll drive her home if her mysterious dad doesn't show up.

The two are on their lunch break. Rhys is taking the time to meet up with this guy he's been chatting to over some dating site. Angel is hanging out with him as his self appointed wingman, and also to steal Rhys's french fries

Angel: So what's this guy like? How old is he?

Rhys: He's 38 and he seems chill enough. He's also a programmer so we bond over that.

Angel: 38? Geez he's old enough to be my dad!

Then Jack shows up and the rest of the lunch break is just Jack and Angel awkwardly staring at each other.
