Hey, I'm Conor. I like reading, activism, and music, so if you like those things, you'll probably like my blog. I'll *try* to update this daily. New posts at 4:00 PM. Sometimes I'll get lazy and throw in a relevant quote instead of something original. Deal with it. :P Also, my "obituary" (explanation here: http://ckelly94.tumblr.com/post/4010110842/an-obituary-for-books) will be posted (normally Monday-Friday) either replacing my posts or appearing around the same time as my posts do. As you are aware if you've been reading my blog, my school is currently throwing out about 30 books a day and has been for years now. I'm starting an initiative to donate these books to more worthy endeavors other than the dumpster (Books for Africa, jails, inner city schools, homeless shelters, orphanages, etc.) We do, however, need funding for boxes and shipping. I was referring to non-food items when I said "obviously you can’t boycott all products"... Clearly there are things that are not feasible to boycott. But just because you can't boycott everything, doesn't mean you can't boycott the feasible.

But how could I forget? Antagonizing people with a cause by reblogging tumblr posts with gifs that sway people to your narrow view because it makes them chuckle is all you're interested in. Why would you ever care about social or political activism?

In modern English, it means "Hey, I should stop being such a bitch and actually do something instead of complain." No, reblogging stuff about vegetarianism doesn't make you a vegetarian. You can post cute sayings, but you won't ever be insightful unless you write it yourself. You are still a pawn in the machine if all you do is reblog shit on tumblr and stuff your face with cheese doodles. Yeah, I bet you "really" hate capitalism, don't you?

That's why I want to challenge my followers: I'm not sure a lot of you have what it takes to fight for your opinions. I'm not sure you're all willing to back up what you've written. Prove me wrong and post some proof of freegan exploits. Skipping, dumpster diving--whatever you call it, I want to see a video or picture of you fishing through a dumpster behind any chain supermarket and/or any booty you've salvaged and I want to see you eat it.

Next time I eat something from the floor, trashcan, etc., I'll document it and post it as some inspiration.

(P.S. Yes, I have eaten full meals from the floor/trash on occasion. Why? Because a) that sandwich was delicious and b) fuck your capitalist bullshit--if you want to exploit poor third-world children, I'm going to avoid supporting you at all costs.)

That one actually is true. They did studies on elevator controls, and the door close button had no effect more than 70% of the time. The only people who can truly effect elevator door close control buttons are elevator operators and firemen, who have a key to activate it. The results for traffic control buttons are even more profound, as almost all buttons controlling traffic in metropolitan areas had no effect. The only places where traffic control buttons almost always have an effect are suburban areas, as the lights change less frequently in certain directions due to less traffic.

Norway Updates En Toute; I Swear!
