The best thing about the Hemingway House? There are 53 cats -- and a couple iguanas! Many of the cats have six toes and are named after famous writers and Hemingway's friends. When Ernest Hemingway lived here, it was during The Depression, and many of his neighbors couldn't afford to feed themselves, let alone their pets. So they would bring them to his house and he cared for them. One of the guides quoted Hemingway as saying, "Cats are the best anarchists. They don't listen to authority and cover their own shit."
