I Reckon It's Time to be Movin On...
So I woke up this morning (feeling nothing like PDiddy, in case you were wondering) and realized this is my last quiet morning in the glorious Park City, UT. The last morning I get to quietly enjoy a cup of coffee on the back deck while the ballooners hang in the sky like pushpins on a blue cork board. The last morning I get to run with La Roo down to the park and wave amiably to the hot young parks'n'rec guys who prepare the area for the day's activities. Last day I get to help Matty decide what gags to throw at cogs over his slowly soggifying cheerios. The last time I'll hear my mom tell me I should eat a big breakfast, and the last time I won't eat a big breakfast because I ate so much of Mom's delicious cooking the night before.
We head into Heber to pick up the trailer (UGHSKIES) today at noon. We will then pack it up, pack it in, let me begin, i came to win, battle me- that's a sin. Alex (my corolla) is not looking forward to the inability to back up, make sharp turns, or accelerate. I'm wondering how Road Trip 2k11 Part Deux will fare with Ma in the passenger's seat instead of Fawksicle. I'll say this, she bought me my FAVOURITE cookies for the trip, so at least there will be sugary, faux-M&M goodness involved. La Roo is going to miss this house and his fambly big time. He will not have grass and ground squirrel tunnels to schnoodle around in, or the love and affection of 4 extra people. I really home roomie Vanessa likes him. It would make my life much easier if she loved him as much as most people do. At least Tucson won't have foxtail though.
Last night I was looking at how quickly I can set up the internet at my apartment complex, because... well I don't want to wait 9 years to get it set up once I arrive. I'm already going to be mizzy enough by myself, I might as well be craigslisting for furniture and catching up on basically any tv show on Hulu. Thankfully I am visiting friends in Phoenix the first weekend of my loneliness, because I would surely cry myself to sleep at night if I had to wait a full 10 days for Vanessa to arrive.
The unmitigated crush hinted at coming to see me. And by hinted I mean outright asked, in as unimposing a way as seemingly possible, if I thought there might be a good time in my busy-beaver schedule of classes and friends and researches for him to visit. Why did that make my heart flutter and my soul take flight? Because, say it with me now, this is the IDIOT ROOM, which makes me... AN IDIOT. Le sigh. Obviously I responded noncommittally because I have no idea what my skedge is going to be like, and I've always been hesitant to positively reinforce behavior that requires someone to put forth a lot of time, effort, and money for me. I didn't ASK him to suggest coming, but I feel like if I respond positively once the idea is out there, I am basically asking him to come, and now I'm being needy and becoming a burden. But then when I'm neutral about things I know people get confused about whether I want them or not. I WANT I WANT I WANT! *sits down, takes deep breath, composes self* But I will handle this in the most appropriate way possible.
also i am going to philly for tgiving so i will maybe get to see him then and i'm simultaneously trying to convince a mutual friend to throw a new years even party in the city which i can attend after a short - 8 hour - drive from christmas in ohio.
What?! Who said that!? Who's talking!? Le sigh. I've got to go start packing up what little life I brought into my room here, and then take inventory of the house and make sure I've got everything I arrived with. I am taking Emma's old bike, sans working brakes, to Tucson though, WIN! :) Good thing Tucson is flat. Brakes? I don't need no stinkin brakes!
