The convention experience.

As someone who's attended many conventions and volunteered at many. With the 💲 amount that is charged the fan wants to recieve a quality experience when paying to do a photo and receive an autograph by the guest celebrity. I've seen some celebrities act very snappy and rude towards the handler assigned to them. The worst celebrity I was a handler for was Kevin Sorbo. (I won't even go into details about that). Now knowing he's MAGA makes me cringe even so. I had a great respect for his work from when he was Hercules on Television. But then he became a Christian Evangelical jerk prude. 😒

I for one knows that if I'm paying big money to attend a convention I want to get my dollars worth. 💲💲 I've worked a Photograph line when folks who pay $300 for a photo with the celebrity get rushed through for 30 seconds to 1 minute pose, and then on to next person. And It becomes a rushed experience. Now there are times when the guest celebrity is on a schedule and have to run over and do a panel so no room for chit chat. Just snap the photo and move along like cows being herded. 🫤 (cash cows). 🤷🏾‍♀️

The best convention I've attended was GalaxyCon Columbus when the cast of Twilight minus Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, (They too well known or think they too special to attend these things). 🙄 scheduling conflict my ass to alot of these celebrities who commit but then can't attend. We understand, life happens, but alot of folks clear their schedules, skip out of work and put money aside for these conventions. And I met Jackson Rathbone who played Jasper. All I wanted was an autographed photo he had on his table. It was $80 for a signed pic. Instead, this guy gets up from behind his table and walks to me, looks me in the eyes and asks me, "how you doing sweetie, where you coming from, gimmie your phone." I WAS SHOOK! 😳 So I handed him my phone and then he started taking selfies of us both with my phone. 😆🤣 All of these photos, HE TOOK! A person who be a celebrity taking time to acknowledge you for coming out to see them is someone I will respect. Not someone that's there just to get their cut for showing up and is not enthusiastic about meeting fans who appreciate their work.

And all I wanted was signed picture of him off his table.

This convention experience was 1000% worth it.

The faces I made after looking at the damn Chris Evans autograph and photo prices for FanExpo Boston when we deserve to get them shits for free for being devoted fans and dealing with all the trolling and gaslighting bullshit on social media. 😒 And with the economy looking like it is I have a new home mortgage and a car note. The Chris Evans experience will never be a cheap one. 🙄💲

The fuck outta here.

I'd rather be lucky running into him at a store or on the street or an airport to get a selfie. 🤷🏾‍♀️
