okay, as some of you guys know me... or not, I use to write for stray kids and nct dream, and other groups on my old account (@renjunvinates) but I closed the account two years ago and stopped writing for some time because I started to become a casual kpop-listener and enjoyer, and was slowly falling out of stray kids and nct dream... (I still love them with my whole heart but it's just not like that anymore... so sorry!!!).
name familiarity: emina, and rennie... I now go by rinhi!
so... now you're wondering how did I end up back here... with a new account, the answer is simple... I somehow, in some way got dragged back into kpop and fell in the enhypen rabbit hole... who do we blame here just maybe my best friend and myself LMFAO. Not recently but a few months ago, I attended the FATE PLUS TOUR concert and that's where it basically went downhill.
RINHI'S ENHYPEN LORE;
So, few years back I was very much into enhypen (i-land days, literally would wake up early to watch the show because I was heavily invested into them) I was there during i-land, watched their pre-debut stuff and was there for their debut! Now this was at the time I became really invested into skz and nct that I had hard time following other groups which caused me to not focus on enhypen too much. I think skip forward too near end of COVID this was where I started to fall out of kpop in general and started to become a casual listener, not really focusing on any groups but still listening to kpop as my main genre, it was also the time scandals were being dropped left and right, and I got fed up with the crazy amount of hate and negativity which is why I dipped. So I wanna say, I kinda dipped out after drunk-dazed/fever released. I occasionally listened to their music but never took the time to fully invest into them. I was also having a huge dilemma who my bias is because they were so young and it made me feel uncomfy (lowkey still does, but like wow I love them like so so so much)
now we're here, so occasionally did listen to their music, but wasn't into them like that, fast forward to where we are now, I attended their fate plus tour, and wow when I tell you that this concert changed me... it heavily changed me, because now I'm like super(?) into kpop and like love love enhypen and I'm now deep in the depths of kpop (specifically enhypen)...
RINHI'S ENHYPEN BIAS LORE;
okay let's just put out there I absolutely adore all of them and I'm ot7 forever and always, but dang if I had to choose we know by my user... its the one and only yang jungwon aha... now how did this happen? TBH I'm going to sound like a psychopath and crazy and I'm sorry, I've just been in denial since i-land LMFAO.
okay so when i-land released, i initially took interest in sunoo, but that's because I thought he was just a cutie patootie, but then I saw his age and I was like oh, idk LMFAO (I was young at that time... but he was younger, so I felt weird). anyways, when I heard jungwon's voice when he sang "Intro to i-land" I kinda was like wow I love his voice so much, and when I saw jungwon I was like wow cutie patootie!! And then I saw his age and I was like oh... I really cant!! (this is where my denial starts). But, when I like saw geonu (now in JUST B) and heard his voice that I was like oh, I like his voice and he's cute and his age was okay, and I felt fine with. So yeah I biased geonu for a bit, but really was in denial about jungwon but told myself I couldn't bc it was kinda weird (age wise) BUT SOMETHING WAS DARN THERE but was trying to avoid it like the plague (I'm sorry won, I love you with my whole god dang heart). okay fast forward into i-land LOL dang geonu is eliminated and I'm in distraught LOL because now I'm like dang who do I bias?? So the final episode comes around and I'm like rooting for all the boys, and when the final line-up gets chosen, I look at my screen and I'm like LOL who do I bias,,, so I'm like ahaha jungwon??? but i'm too freaked out, so then I switch over and I'm like yeah sunoo, but my logic and reasoning is HE'S MY SON THOUGH LIKE I BIAS HIM, BUT IN A SON LOVING WAY (literally still in denial about jungwon and avoiding him like the plague in hope getting over him).
Okay we're fast forwarding to current time; LMFAO so you know when people ask me who my bias is, I would tell them oh it's sunoo but in a son lovingly way LOL and would try move on from the topic, but if there's one person who knew my secret dilemma it was my bestie LMFAO and she would lowkey side-eye me, because she knew LMFAO. Moving onto fate plus tour, at this point I was in denial and I knew I was LMFAO before the concert I said wow I get to see sunoo!!! *causally whispers* and jungwon ahaha... guys I'm a fraud LMFAO I went to this concert and the entire god dang time my eyes was on jungwon, and after that concert it really changed me and who I am, because not only do I simply love jungwon, I simply love enhypen and its all I ever yap about.

When y/n finishes her night classes, she continues with her normal daily routine. Finish class, walk home, get the mail, open a bottle of wine and just unwind. To her surprise when she opens her mailbox she realizes she’s been invited to a birthday party, more specifically her best friend's birthday party. She looked at the invitation and giggled at her best-friend's actions, normally y/n would think her best friend would shoot her an invitation text, she would have never thought that she would formally get a birthday invitation physically, but she didn’t mind. y/n pulls out her phone and shoots her best friend a text letting her know she’ll be there at the party.
When it comes to y/n and her best friend, they have been long-distancing for a while. Ever since y/n decided to go for her masters program, she had to move away to focus on her studies and attend a school that was out of state. Thankfully, her best friend’s birthday was a few weeks away so she had time to plan out her studies and book a flight. Despite distance and being far away from each other, over time the both of them had stopped talking everyday but occasionally they would have small talk just to update each other, obviously it didn’t bother y/n she just assumed despite distance and space, no matter what they would still be able to talk like nothing had changed.
After a few weeks of sleepless nights because of cramming studies and attending night classes, your best friend’s birthday had finally rolled around the corner. It felt like just yesterday you had received her invitation, but in a blink of an eye, three weeks had passed so fast because of school, that now you’re on the airplane ready to visit home and attend your best friend’s birthday party. You were excited to visit home and see your best friend, ready to finally relax after finishing mid-terms, being able to drink wine and socialize with your old friends and reminisce. It’s something you had missed. After deciding to go to your masters program, you technically lost your social life, a part of you felt bad but you were really determined with your career path. You felt bad not being able to properly keep friendships aligned, but you were thankful for the most part that your friends understood where you were coming from.
After landing, you took a big deep breath inhaling the fresh air, you forgot how much you had missed home and the smell of nature, quite frankly with the small breeze that brushes your hair, a smile appears on your face. Your parents see you and wave eagerly, running up to you giving you a tight hug, expressing how much they have missed you and how happy they are to see you. Your mom who starts nagging, asking if you’re eating enough, you’re dad who looks at you from afar with a gentle smile and welcomes you home. You let out a laugh and reassure your parents that you’re eating enough, and that you’re fine, your mom doesn’t buy it but she doesn’t want to continue to nag so she drops the conversation and hurries you in the car.
“So what brings you home?” y/n’s mom asked. A smile appears on your face, “It’s Elaena’s birthday, she sent me an invitation to her birthday party, and I had agreed to attend. After checking my schedule with school and studies, it seemed like I could go,” y/n replied. “Oh! It’s already her birthday… how time flies by fast! How is she?” your mom asked. “I don’t know. We haven’t had time to talk to each other, but I hope this birthday party for her gives us the chance to catch up,” you smiled. “When is it?” y/n dad asked. “Tommorow!” you replied.
After a whole ride of talking with your family and catching up with them, you had finally arrived home. You grabbed your belongings and went straight to your room, immediately dropping your stuff and jumping into your bed feeling cozy and comfortable. With a few minutes passing by, you sat up and looked at your room and smiled, nothing had changed, besides the fact that your room was still clean, assuming your mom kept it clean despite you not being home. Soon after your mom had knocked on your door telling you that dinner was ready, you got up from your bed and headed straight to the dining room ready to eat your mother’s cooking you had missed so much. And then before you knew it, the night had passed so fast that it was time for your best friend’s birthday party.
While getting ready for your best friend’s birthday party, you were nervous, it had been a while talking to her, let alone talking to all of your friends from home. You just hoped that your friends were still open to you and excited to see you. When arriving at the birthday party, you rang the door bell and her parents had opened the door, they gave you a cheerful smile and a tight hug, expressing how shocked they were to see you but thrilled that you made it to their daughter’s birthday party. You thanked them and proceeded to walk inside her house in an attempt to look for her, and while looking for your best friend you stumbled upon meeting your old friends from college. They all looked at you wide-eyed and gave you big warm hugs shocked to see you here.
“Oh my god what are you doing here?” one friend asked. “Surprise?” y/n smiled. “Elaena invited me, and I thought I would surprise you all here with my appearance,” Your friends laughed and smiled, “Well you definitely surprised us, we’ve missed you,” another friend said. “I know… I miss you guys too. I’m sorry for not being able to keep in contact with you all. School has been kicking my butt,” you sighed. “Hey, we understand. The masters program isn’t easy, as long as you don’t forget about us when you make it big,” your friend winked. You laughed at her comment and shrugged your shoulders jokingly, “I don’t know… I'll think about it,” you smiled. While getting sidetracked talking to your old friends, you had forgot your original mission and that was looking for your best friend, but it’s not like you were in a hurry, granted it had been a while talking to your old friends, and you had missed talking to them, you stood there a couple more minutes socializing and telling them about your life while they also shared theirs.
While standing in a huddle group with your friends and telling them about your life, silence fell upon you and you looked at your friend’s faces, their faces drop and they all look in one direction, after recognizing the situation you turned around for yourself and saw your ex-boyfriend there by the door greeting your best friend’s parents. Your friends pulled you in closer, having one of them whisper in your ear and tugging on to you tightly. “Why is he here…?’ she whispered. You stood frozen in spot, eyes glued onto him, after finishing greeting your best friend’s family he turns over and looks at you, awkwardly making eye contact with him, you look away fast, and your friends hover to block your view from him, “Are you okay?” they asked. You slowly nod and start holding your hand close to your chest, “Yeah, I think so,” you replied. “Did you know Sunghoon was coming here?” your friend asked. You shook your head in disapproval, “No… I haven’t talked to him ever since we broke up…” you replied. “He’s crazy for even showing up to this birthday party. I wonder who invited him?” your other friend questioned. “Do you need a moment?” your friend asked. You nod slowly and excuse yourself from the group of girls, looking for an entrance that leads outside to get a quick breath of fresh air.
After spotting the back door, you walked outside and closed the door behind you, and after dropping your legs to the floor crouching while holding your hand close to your chest again trying to take deep breaths. There’s a moment of silence until you hear a familiar voice call your name. “y/n?” someone said. Your ears perked and you felt a figure standing in front of you, while seeing their shoes right in front of you. There’s hesitation in you wanting to lift your head up, but then you hear them call your name once again, and your heart drops lower. After hearing his voice for the second time, there was no mistake, you knew who’s voice was, because how could you forget his voice, after all he was and still is your first love. It was Lee Heeseung.
Lee Heeseung, your first love, and someone who you’re still in love with. It was him who decided to break things off, not because he fell out of love with you, not because he stopped liking you but because he didn’t want you to stop for him. He knew you would do anything for him and to him it didn’t feel right. So he let go first, at first you didn’t understand where he was coming from, if anything you tried to fight it, but he kept shaking his head. He kept saying that he didn’t want to hold you back, he didn’t want to be the reason you regret. Right after your guys broke up, you had asked for space and he respected it. Within time you kept telling yourself maybe Heeseung was right and this was for the better, but even if maybe he was right your heart still loved him. Months had passed after your guy’s break up and you decided you were “ready” to be friends, but you were quite the opposite. You hated the idea of only being friends with him, you hated the idea that you guys were no longer together, but you didn’t want to continue to fight with him, or fight in something that he kept rejecting. So with one last talk before you left for school you had one last conversation that “settled” on being on “good terms” with him. You walked away bitter and sad, but you couldn’t bring yourself to tell him otherwise, and so you locked it away and tried to brush him out of our memory and to focus on school and studies.
“Is that you y/n?” he asked. You don’t respond, you’re too overwhelmed to respond, so stay silent and frozen in place, it’s not until you hear him sigh and bend down close to you, forcing eye contact with you while lifting your chin up. “I know you can hear me,” he said. You quickly push his hand away from your face and break eye contact with him, and immediately stand up looking away. You hear him sigh deeply and you can feel him still look at you, “I see, you’re still the same as ever,” he said. You took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to look at him, “What are you doing here?” you asked. “Well certainly a hi or a hello would be nice,” he replied. “Just answer the question,” you sighed. “Well isn’t it obvious? It’s Elaena's birthday? She invited me?” he said. “But… but why would she do that?” you trailed off. “Okay rude. Just because we’re exes doesn’t mean we can’t all be friends here, and the last time I checked, I thought we were friends and ended things on good terms. Why are you being so hostile towards me,” he frowned. You break eye contact with him and look away while rubbing your elbow, “it’s not like that… I was just caught off guard,” you replied. You hear him chuckle, and you look at him, he gives you that soft an endearing look and opens his arms, your stomach drops and your chest feels tight, there’s hesitation in your steps but you look at him and walk into his arms, you feels his arms wrap around you tightly, at first you hesitate lifting your arms to hug him back, but after feeling the comfort of his hugs you had missed, you caved in wrapped your arms around him and hugged tightly as you knew this would be the last time you could hug him like that.
Heeseung smiles and puts his chin on top of your head, “Welcome home,” he said. Your heart sinks lower and you try to suppress your tears, you grab onto his shirt tightly and then push him back turning your body away from him trying to hide your face and emotions, “Whatever,” you replied. “Still as cold as ever when it comes to things like this I see,” he teased. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you replied. “Sure you don’t,” he chuckled. “So what brings you outside here? Aren’t your friends inside?” Heeseung asked. You rubbed the back of your neck, “I just needed a fresh breath of air,” you omitted. “Well shouldn’t you be heading back inside?” he asked. “I just need a couple more minutes… enough about me… what are you doing outside?” You asked. “I needed to step out and take a phone call with my fi- nevermind. I just needed to take a phone call with a friend,” he replied. You gave Heeseung a weird look and then looked up into the sky, and then closed your eyes trying to take a deep breath again, “Wow you really haven’t changed,” he smiled. You opened your eyes and looked at him and rolled your eyes, “I’ve changed a lot, it just so happens there are still some habits I keep that give me comfort,” you said. He puts his hands up in surrender and chuckles, “well shall we head back inside?” he asked. “You can go in first, I still want more time,” you replied. He shrugs and heads straight to the door, and when he opens the door he sees Sunghoon laughing with other people.
Heeseung immediately closes the door and turns around and looks at you while you’re still staring off into the sky trying to calm down. He sighs and then walks towards you once again, “Look at me,” he said sternly. You slowly make eye contact with him, “Are you okay?” he asked. You tilt your head and look at him, feeling caught off guard by his question, “yes?” you lied.
From the many years Lee Heeseung has known you, from highschool and maybe up until now he knows you like a book, he knows almost everything about you. He knows your habits, he knows how you act when you're distraught, he knows how you act when you’re sad, happy, anything, He knows almost everything and anything about you. If there’s one person who knows you inside and out it was definitely Lee Heeseung and that’s what scared you the most. The person who knows you the most and yet he still can’t read the room where your heart still yearns for him.
“You know I was bound to see him, and you think I wouldn’t ask you?” he said. You sighed heavily, “It’s not that big of a deal,” you replied. “Then why are you outside?” he asked. “God forbid a girl wants fresh air Heeseung,” you argued. He bites his tongue and looks at you with those soft eyes, “You know you can always count on me,” he said. Your heart cracks once more, “I know. Things are different this time. I’m fine. I just really wanted fresh air,” you lied once more. “Okay, well then. I’ll wait here until you’re done getting your fresh air,” he said. “It’s fine Heeseung, go on first. I want time to myself,” you said. He looks at you and shakes his head, he knows better not to argue with you, he walks away towards the door and turns around and looks at you once more, and then he closes the door behind him. You hear the door shut and let out a faint breath. You dropped your legs once more crouching to the floor and clutching on to your chest once again trying to swallow the tears that you kept trying to fight and hide.
Once more you stood up and fixed your clothes and walked towards the door. You took one last deep breath and opened the door. To your surprise you saw Elaena, she saw you and waved eagerly rushing towards you giving you a fat hug, “I was looking for you! Everyone kept saying you were here but I couldn’t find you,” she said. You smiled and hugged her back, “Sorry, I was outside getting a fresh breath of air, big crowds can be overstimulating," you lied. “You’re still the same as ever, we have so much to catch up on, but first I wanted to announce something since everyone is here,” she said. You nodded and released her from the hug, she smiled and grabbed her glass cup trying to make a ring and gather everyone’s attention.
“Hey everyone, thank you for coming! I’m so excited to celebrate my birthday with you all, but there’s something else I’d like to celebrate and announce,” she said eagerly. You stood there smiling while watching her, it wasn’t until slowly your smile disappeared and you saw Sunghoon slowly walking towards her and then all of a sudden standing next to her, “I wanted to announce that Sunghoon and I are engaged as well!” she said as she brought out her hand showing off her ring. Everyone around you clapped, you stood there frozen trying to bring yourself to clap but you couldn’t. There were so many things running through your mind, so many feelings you were feeling that you didn’t know how to navigate, but atlas you brought your hands together slowly clapping trying to force a smile on your face.
You could feel some stares, you could hear some whispers, but you stood there locked in place trying to ignore the stares and the whispers, your group of friends who look at you in concern but are too scared to ask if you’re okay, Heeseung who looks at you from afar to see your reaction only to assume you’re not okay and ready to break out. But you don’t do anything, you stand there forcing that fake smile and trying your hardest to blend in with the crowd of claps. “Thank you for listening, please enjoy the party!” Elaena finished.
When the crowd of claps start slowly dying, you could see Elaena walk towards you a bit nervously, you look at her with a faint smile, “You’re not mad right?” she asked. In your mind you are baffled, and miffed that she could have the audacity to ask you that, but you don’t say anything, you don’t want to react and cause a commotion and so you stand there and lie with your faint smile on your face, “I’m not, how could I be,” you lied. “See, I told you she wouldn’t be mad,” Sunghoon smirked. You darted your eyes at Sunghoon and rolled your eyes, “Sunghoon,” you said bitterly. “y/n, it’s nice to see you again. I didn’t think you would show up,” he teased. “Why wouldn’t I? It’s Elaena’s birthday party after all,” you said. “You’re too nice y/n. Thank you for coming, I know with your master programs it can be a lot, but it really makes me happy that you showed up,” Elaena smiled. You looked at her and smiled letting out a faint sigh, “You’re my best friend,” you said.
You watched Sunghoon smirk and then he excused himself from the conversation and proceeded to walk away. You watched him walk away and then looked at Elaena, “Are you sure you’re not mad?” she asked. You sighed, “I’m not mad, I’m just in shock,” you said. “What is there to be shocked about?” she said. “How could you be engaged with a guy like him,” you said. You watched her smile disappear and a frown appear on her face, “He’s not all bad you know. He’s changed,” she defended. “I’m sure he has, but how could you be with someone who hurt me like that,” you said. “Well, I’m not you. He would never hurt me,” she said. You sighed heavily and looked at her, “I knew it. Sunghoon was right. You’re just jealous,” she said. Your eyes widened and you were beyond baffled at her comment, “Jealous? Elaena, what is there to be jealous about?” you scoffed. “You’re just jealous that Sunghoon and I are engaged and that he’s with me now,” she replied. You scoffed and couldn’t believe what she said to you, “Oh my god? Do you hear yourself? I don’t know what Sunghoon said to you, but the fact you’re siding with him is crazier to me. You’re my best friend, out of everyone in this room, you are the only one who knows what he’s done to me, and you think I’m jealous of that?” you defended. “Like I said he’s changed, he would never treat me like that. Are you sure you’re acting like this because you’re not over him?” she said. You scoff once more in disbelief, “Are you out of your mind? Do you really think that?” I asked. She looks away, “I can’t. I didn’t want to cause a commotion during your announcement, but I can’t be here right now. For the record I could care less about Sunghoon, I’m hurt by the fact that as MY best friend you would do something like this to me, and not even tell me. You didn’t even tell me you guys were dating, if you told me you guys were dating, okay whatever, but it’s the fact that you hid the fact you were dating and then only to drop news you guys are engaged and getting married?” you lashed out.
Elaena stays silent and puts her head down, you could hear her faint sniffles, you’re about to say something again but then Sunghoon steps in front of you, “I think you’ve done enough. If you’re that upset, take it out on me, not on her. She’s done nothing wrong,” Sunghoon defended. You rolled your eyes in disbelief and scoffed at him, “real bold of you to step in and be her knight and shining armor when you couldn’t do that for me,” you bitterly said. “Don’t project your insecurities on to her or us,” he said. Filled with rage, you lifted your hand ready to slap him until Heeseung stepped in and punched Sunghoon in the face, “Don’t talk to her like that,” Heeseung interjected. Everyone looks over at the commotion and the stares and whispers start to form, and Elaena yells at Heeseung, “What the hell Heeseung,” she said. “Elaena what the hell to you!” Heeseung argued. Elaena looks at Sunghoon who’s on the floor holding his cheek while bleeding, “Hoon you’re bleeding,” she said. “It’s fine,” Sunghoon shrugged off. You stood there looking at the situation, and before you knew it, all the tears that you’ve tried to fight back, all the tears you thought you had swallowed down, came bursting out. Heeseung turns around and looks at you, he grabs your hand and takes you outside of Elaena’s house.
You watch Heeseung take your hand, you let him guide you as you let tears run down your face, and once you’ve reached a place where no one is around, he pulls you in for a hug. He hugs you tightly once more, but you don’t reciprocate, if anything you stand there frozen letting tears sink into his shirt, with your face close to his chest wishing to seek comfort but can’t seem to find. The both of you stand there letting silence take over aside from your sobs, Heeseung who hugs you tightly and has his chin on top of your head and is rubbing your back to give you all the comfort he can offer. There are many thoughts that run through his head, but the only thing that runs through his mind is thinking maybe you're hurt because you’re not over Sunghoon, but little did he know he was wrong.
Truth be told, the moment Sunghoon said those things to you, it struck a string in your heart, and maybe Elaena was right, maybe you were jealous, but not in the way she thought you were. Projecting insecurities? Maybe what Sunghoon said was right, maybe you were insecure about the fact that you couldn’t have what they have; A secure relationship, a person to be engaged too. Jealousy? Maybe Elaena was right, maybe you were jealous on the fact that you didn’t have your person with you, that you had wish you were engaged to the love of your life to how she was, jealous over the fact she’s able to marry someone who loves her, whereas you’re nowhere near to that path. You could care less about the fact that she and Sunghoon were engaged, you don’t care about Sunghoon, he’s a person of your past that you already let go, and with Elaena, sure you’re upset and feel betrayed but to be honest that was also whatever to you.
It’s the fact that the moment when Heeseung stepped in to fight for you, you’re heart broke because all of the “what ifs” appeared in your head, a series of montage that goes through your mind wishing what Elaena and Sunghoon have, it's what you want to have with Heeseung.
I want to be with Heeseung, I want to be engaged to him, I want to walk down that aisle with a pretty dress, seeing him down at the end being ready to spend the rest of his life with me. Knowing that he and I? We're the end game, that’s what I want, but it’s what I don’t have. This is what you say in your head over and over when Heeseung hugs you, and then the cries become louder than your heart, and then you hug him tightly, not wanting to let go.
Heeseung feels your arms around him tightly and he stands there letting you hug him, he stands there hearing your loud sobs while his heart breaks and a frown appears on his face, he hesitates to speak, but he does it anyways, “you’re not over him are you?” he asked quietly. You hear his question and you stop immediately and let go and look at him in disbelief. You push him away, “How could you ask me that?” you asked. “I’m sorry I just thought that…” he trailed off. “You thought what? You thought that I was crying over the fact that he and Elaena are getting married and are engaged?” you sobbed. “Well it’s why you’re crying aren’t you” he said. “I’m not crying because of that,” you looked away. “Then why are you crying,” he said as he lifted up your chin.
You pushed his hand away from your face, there hesitation in your voice, because you don’t feel confident to speak your heart out, you don’t feel safe to lay out your feelings, and you certainly don’t want to hear his rejection of your confession, but you let it all out anyways, because even if you’re scared, unconfident, and insecure you want him to hear you out and take that leap of maybe the universe telling you that this is your second chance. “Because I want to have something like them. Not in the sense that I want Sunghoon, and I’m jealous and sad that he’s with her. I’m sad because I want that path too, but not with him, but with you,” you cried.
Heeseung looks at you and he takes a step back and doesn’t say anything, “Lee Heeseung, I’m sorry, but I’m still in love with you, I’ve tried to get over you by drowning myself in school and with my studies and for a good while it worked, but after seeing you, everything sparked back again making me realize that I’m not over you, I don’t think I’m ever going to be over you. Then after Elaena announced her engagement with Sunghoon, it just made me realize, I want what they have. To be loved by you, to be with you for life, to love you freely,” you sobbed.
You wiped away your tears, as more tears couldn’t stop falling from your face, he looked at you with saddened eyes, and hesitates to speak as if he can’t really bring himself to speak. After wiping away more tears, you look at him trying to search for an answer in his face, but you could tell he was about to say words that you knew your heart couldn’t bear, “I’m sorry,” he said quietly, “but we can’t be together… I’m already engaged to someone else,” avoiding eye contact.

I mean there’s Heeseung but it doesn’t exactly hold the same feelings like I did for Jaeyun. I’ve known Jaeyun ever since we were kids, ever since I moved here into that house, I mean he’s always been there for me whether I liked it or not, and that's what I liked about him. He was always willing to stay by my side even if I didn’t want anyone by my side, he would sit beside me in silence leaving his presence there, and I wasn’t going to lie, it helped me alot and I appreciated it so much. He’s so kind hearted, especially when it comes to volunteering at dog shelters, when it comes to volunteering he would always take pictures of the dogs and show them to me and it was so cute and endearing seeing him smile. Maybe that’s why I fell in love with him, because he’s one of the most kind hearted, and cutest guys that I know? He was so innocent and cute and always so supportive even when I tried pushing him away, he’s seen many sides of me, awkward, loud, shy, quiet, different personalities that I didn’t mind showing because I felt comfortable around him, but as time passed, I gave up on Jaeyun because it seemed like he was more invested into friendship than a romantic relationships, which I didn’t exactly mind, but it hurt a little bit. Regardless, it seemed like he wasn’t interested in me, or didn’t care enough so I decided to move on, but now finding out that he also wrote a confession letter that changes all perspectives and feelings, and I wasn’t going to lie, it gave me hope to believe maybe he liked me? I like Heeseung, but I don’t think anything beats Jaeyun, he’s always going to hold a special place in my heart.
I sighed really loudly and plopped onto Sunoo’s bed as he looked at me and plopped down next to me too. “Whatcha thinking?” he asked. “The letters, and how every one of them has an N in their name, just everything,” I replied. “Who’s your next guess?” Sunoo asked. “Probably Jaeyun,” I sighed heavily. “Jaeyun, why Jaeyun?” he asked. “Well one of the letters has a reference about being ‘kids’ and he’s known me since we were kids, aside from Riki… but what if it’s Riki… Sunoo, what do I do? What if Jaeyun or Riki still likes me? And what if I can’t return their feelings, especially with Riki,” I panicked. “Wait, but didn’t you like Jaeyun at one point?” Sunoo asked. “Well yes, but like, I’m kinda over him and I like Heeseung…” I trailed off. “That’s right, I mean rejection is part of life?” he suggested. I turned over laying on my stomach and looked over to Sunoo and slapped his shoulder and sighed, “This isn’t funny Sunoo. I don’t want to hurt them. Riki is like my little brother and my dance partner. Imagine losing him because I don’t feel the same way!!!” I exclaimed. “I think he would be fine, after all there are plenty of more fish in the sea,” he replied. “And if Jaeyun likes me? I don’t know how to feel, I mean it took me so long to suppress these feelings and to move on, and now that I have and I’ve moved on to Heeseung, I don’t know,” I said. “You really love all of us don’t you?” he smiled “You guys are like the best boys ever, I can’t bear to lose you all,” I pouted. “Relax, it’s going to be okay, we’ll always be by your side,” he reassured. “I know, you know I hate hurting people,” I said. “I know you do, but we’re boys we can take it, I mean look at me, I did,” he joked “Kim Sunoo this isn’t about you,” I rolled my eyes. “I know, but seriously don’t think about it too much,” he said.
I sighed in frustration and took Sunoo’s pillow and screamed into it, and as that happened the doorbell rang, and I assumed it was one of the boys or Aerai. I laid there looking at Sunoo’s ceiling, and then I heard a knock on the door, and there it beholds Jaeyun standing by the door. “Hey, Sunoo said you're up here,” Jaeyun said. I panicked when he entered the room, and I immediately sat up from Sunoo’s bed and adjusted my hair, “Hey,” I replied. “The rest of them are downstairs, I thought you should know,” Jaeyun said. “Oh yeah, thanks,” I replied. “You seem distressed, what’s wrong?” Jaeyun asked. “Nothing, just you know, rough day at school,” I lied. “Oh tell me about it,” he smiled. My heart kinda fluttered, his smile will always be cute and pure and it’s something I cannot resist. “Nah, I don’t want to bore you, besides we’re here to have a good time, not here to listen to my tragic anger stories about teachers and people I hate at school,” I joked. “You know I really don’t mind,” he said. “I know you don't, you've always been like this, and I can appreciate it alot, thanks Jaeyun, but we should go and head down the stairs,” I smiled. “Okay, you know I'm always here for you and always with all ears,” he said. “I know you are,” I nodded.
I got off the bed and proceeded to head out the door, and then Jaeyun followed me after. I went down the stairs and saw everyone at the couch already snuggling with each other and already comfortable. Aerai gave me a weird look and then waved at me, and gave me a mischievous smile. “Didn’t think to call us?” Jaeyun said. “Oh please, it’s not like you want to watch a movie,” Jongseong jokes. “I will personally walk up to you and slap you,” Jaeyun glared. “Oh no, Sunoo, save me!” Jongseong said. “Choke him,” Sunoo encouraged. “Okay, no choking, we’re here to watch a movie, it’s a friday night, let's please keep it peaceful,” Jungwon said. “And this is why I adore you Jungwon, you’re such an angel,” Aerai said. “Yeah, except he's a clumsy cat,” Riki jokes. “Hey, at least I don’t try to act nonchalant and emo,” Jungwon defended. “Yeah emo boy,” Sunoo snickered. “It’s better than being a ray of sunshine,” Riki grumbled. “Are we gonna watch the movie or not,” Jongseong complained. “If you guys make room on the couch, that would be great,” I said.
“Sunghoon, and Heeseung scoot over, there’s no need to hog the couch, we all know you guys love each other,” Jongseong said. “We do not love each other, we’re bro's,” Heeseung said. “Awh Heeseung, why can’t you just admit we’re in love,” Sunghoon teased. “Because we’re not,” He rolled his eyes. “Okay, well make room, and let’s start the movie please,” I said.
Sunghoon scooted over and so did Heeseung, I sat in the middle and then Jaeyun sat next to me, I didn’t know what had gotten over me because usually I don’t care, but ever since finding out about the confessional letters and knowing someone in this group liking me, yeah it essentially made me even more nervous. I sat there having my heart beat like I was having some kind of a heart attack and suffered immensely sitting there panicking for like an hour and then finally deciding to excuse myself from the others to go get a drink.
I walked to the kitchen and took a deep breath and grabbed a drink from the fridge and placed it on top of my forehead to cool down. As I was pacing back and forth, Aerai walked in and looked at me. “What are you doing?” she asked. “Oh you know panicking and having a mental breakdown but what else is new?” I replied. “What happened?” she asked. “Well good news, Sunoo doesn’t like me, and I eliminated one of the letters. Sunoo knows who’s in love with me but won’t tell me, he gave me a hint telling me it’s someone that has the letter N in their name. Which doesn’t help me at all, because that’s basically all of them,” I rambled. “You’re speaking too fast again, jeez your habits, please breathe and speak,” Aerai said. “I’m lost and confused because I have one letter with me and it talks about when we were kids, but since Sunoo ruled one letter out already, it could only mean that it’s either Jaeyun or Riki, and they also both have an N in their name and I don’t know but my feelings for Jaeyun could be resurfacing? But then again, I like Heeseung now. I'm just doubting myself. It didn't help when I was sitting between them during the movie either,” I said. “Breathe (y/n), breathe,” Aerai suggested.“I just don’t know,” I frowned. “I mean you do, you’re just lost, you’ll find a way and understand, don’t panic too much. If you have the courage to ask Sunoo, then you could ask Jaeyun and Niki,” Aerai said. “Okay then what? What if one of them is in love with me right now? What should I do?” I panicked. “You follow your dummy feelings, like you’ve always had,” Aerai smiled.
I could feel tears seeping in and I tried hard fighting them, I just felt so overwhelmed with everything. Aerai saw me in shambles and came and hugged me reassuring me everything was going to be okay, and it wasn’t until Jaeyun walked in and saw us hugging and then I made awkward eye contact with him and he saw my teary face and came rushing over. “Hey what’s wrong?” he panicked. “I’m going to leave you two alone, I think something needs to be discussed,” Aerai said. “Something that needs to be discussed? Did I do something wrong?” Jaeyun asked. “No, just talk to her, but don’t rush her. She’s overwhelmed,” Aerai said as she left. “(y/n) talk to me, what’s wrong?” Jaeyun asked. “Noth-.. Nothing,” I sniffed. “Hey come on, don’t lie to me. What;s Aerai talking about?” he asked. “Nothing, okay, it’s nothing,” I lied. “I’m going to stand here until you talk to me, and I’m not going to let you leave either,” he threatened. “Jaeyun please,” I begged. “Seriously what’s wrong, I knew something was wrong when I asked, but now you’re just blatantly lying to me,” he said. “I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT, JUST LEAVE ME ALONE,” I yelled out of panic.
I was filled with anger and annoyance, not wanting to deal with Jaeyun and his pushiness today, nor was I ready to deal with the others anymore. I was already filled with annoyance with the letters and being frustrated with these dumb letters. My tone raised and Jaeyuns’s face was taken aback and dropped, more tears were flowing. I was about to leave the kitchen until he grabbed my hand and looked at me, he kept persisting. “I will not leave you alone, until you tell me what the hell is wrong with you,” he said. “Nothing, it’s fucking nothing Jaeyun,” I replied. “When are you going to stop being so hard headed and open up to us? When are you going to stop and let us in? I’M TRYING TO BE HERE FOR YOU AND I CAN’T DO THAT WHEN YOU’RE ACTING LIKE THIS,” he yelled.
I’ve never once thought Jaeyun could raise his voice like that, I flinched when he yelled and I completely lost it, I yanked my hand away and then all of a sudden everyone entered the kitchen and saw me with tears in my eyes as Heeseung came towards Jaeyun and pulled him by the collar. “Jaeyun, what the hell did you do,” Heeseung said. “Hey Heeseung, calm down and release him. Let him speak,” Sunghoon said. “He’s right hyung, calm down,” Riki said. “I did nothing wrong, I asked her what’s wrong and she kept ignoring my question. I was just trying to be there for her,” Jaeyun defended. “You made her cry,” Heeseung said. “No, I didn’t. She was already crying when I came in. Ask Aerai,” Jaeyun said. “She was, but I guess she’s just more overwhelmed,” Aerai said.
I felt all eyes on me, and I felt mortified, fear had taken over me and without thinking I ran out the door and could hear Jaeyun pushing Heeseung off of him and chasing after me out the door. He grabbed my hand and we stood outside of Sunoo’s house. “(y/n), I’m really trying, I’m really trying hard not to push your buttons and I want to be here for you,” Jaeyun said. “Are you.. Are you in love with me?” I hesitated. “What..?” his face blanked out. I took a deep breath and repeated myself once more, “Are you in love with me?” I asked again. “What.. what makes you say that?” he asked. I sighed and pulled out the May 23 2021 letter and handed it to him. His eyes widened and his face turned red, and then he looked at me with panic. “Where.. Where did you get this?” he asked. “It was mailed to me, I got 8 confession letters mailed to me. So, tell me did you write this letter?” I asked. “I.. I did, but this was years ago,” he replied. “Oh… So you’re not in love with me anymore right?” I asked. “Why does it matter? Why does it sound like you’re disappointed I’m in love with you,” he quietly said. “Jaeyun, that's not my intention at all,” I frowned. “It’s fine, I get it, you don’t want me to like you, I know. Don’t worry I’m not in love with you, besides I know you like Heeseung,” he replied. “Oh.. So you did like me at one point did you?” I asked. “I did, I mean I was head over heels, but as time passed you started looking at Heeseung romantically and so I gave up. Don’t worry I’m over you,” he faintly smiled. “I’m sorry,” I apologized. “Don’t be, besides it’s all in the past, this was written years ago,” he said. “I know but still, you must’ve been hurt and torn because of me,” I frowned. “It happens, but we all learn and deal with pain, it’s part of life,” he said. “I just got six more letters to deal with. I don’t think I can do this anymore,” I sighed. “six? But you got eight.. Did you figure out one other person already?” he asked. “Yeah, Sunoo. I found out he used to have a crush on me, but he told me he’s over it. He also gave me a hint telling me that someone that has the letter N in their name is in love with me,” I sighed. “Are you hoping it’s Heeseung?” he asked. “I.. I don’t know. I never really thought about it,” I shrugged. “It’s okay, if he makes you happy, that's all that matters,” he smiled. “I want everyone to be happy,” I frowned. “We can’t always have what we want,” he shrugged. “A person can try,” I replied. “You’re right. I’m sorry for raising my voice at you, I was just very frustrated with the situation. It breaks my heart seeing you cry and being in stress mode,” he apologized. “I get it, I’m sorry for being a stubborn ass. You know how I am,” I apologized. “I know,” he smiled. “Thank you though, thanks for not giving up on me,” I smiled. “Anything for you,” he smiled.
I opened up my arms and he saw and he came in for a tight hug, and I hugged him back tightly. Part of me kind of hoped he was in love with me, but I was wrong. It was a bit disappointing but things can’t be helped sometimes. “It’s getting late, I should go,” he said. “Already? We should both come back and into the house and explain to the boys we’re both okay,” I insisted. “I think you should head back in and check up on Heeseung and tell him you’re okay. Also tell him I did nothing wrong,” Jaeyun said. “Are you sure Jaeyun?” I asked. “I’m sure, I have things I have to do anyways,” he reassured. “Okay..” I replied.
He released me from the hug and started walking off into the dark streets, I watched him walk until he was engulfed by the shadows and disappeared from my eyes. So if it wasn’t Sim Jaeyun the Next Door Neighbor, then it was on to the next. Suddenly it clicked for me, the most recent letter makes a reference about us as kids, which means it rules out Jongseong and Jungwon. Which means I should just confront them to get it out of the way. So let’s start with Park Jongseong. My Brother’s Roommate.

Normally you’re not the type of person to drink coffee everyday, but with midterms always creeping up and then finals weeks attacking you, coffee was a requirement for you and your body. That was the only thing that would keep yourself and your body sane. Luckily, you lived close to a coffee shop, and at this point you would consider yourself a regular considering you would be there everyday, call it your second home at this point. You didn’t mind it though, there was a cute barista working there and you couldn’t help but continue to go there because of him. He was always so nice to you, but your assumption is that he’s just a nice person in general and it’s his job to provide good customer service. He would always ask about your day when he rang you up, and it was always lovely to see him, he would always smile cutely and your cheeks would turn bright pink.
As days passed and you became a regular there, you found out his name was Sunoo, he works there almost everyday and all of the girls there are obsessed with him, as they always try to talk to him. You on the other hand look at him from afar and admire him from afar, and besides you have to focus on your assignments and study for tests and exams.
“Good morning!” Sunoo smiled. “Good morning,” I smiled. “How’s your morning?” he asked. “It’s going okay, just a regular day to study and finish my assignments,” I replied. “Must be rough, well how can I help you?” he said. “I’ll take a vanilla latte today,” I answered. “Sure thing! Don’t worry if you need to refill, I got your back,” he winked. “I’ll be sure to let you know,” you smiled.
Your heart raced fast when he winked at you, you smiled and laughed nervously. As he walked away from the register he smiled and waved and your heart did a flip and bursted into an explosion, maybe you should stop coming here and go somewhere else… but he was just so nice and cute, no wonder all the girls like him. But you caught yourself overthinking, you aren’t anything special, he’s just being nice and doing his job, you need to stop overthinking.
You went to look for an empty table and luckily found one, it was sometimes super hard finding a table, considering all of his fan girls always steal the tables and just sit there and stare at him. Quite frankly it was very annoying because you needed a table to study, but then again, you were kind of like the girls, from time to time you would steal small glances at him and see him work and make drinks. But it always seemed like Sunoo didn’t mind the stares and didn’t mind working, in fact it looked like he enjoyed working there and it seemed like he liked his job.
As you sat down at the table, you took all of your things out and organized it on the desk, you basically took up the whole table, but you needed too. By the time you’re done setting up your stuff Sunoo walks over and places the latte on your table with pastries and smiles at you. “My treat, a small snack won’t hurt,” he smiled. You could feel your cheeks turn pink, you smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up, he laughed and waved goodbye letting you focus on your studies.
He is the death of you, he was so nice and considerate, you felt bad, you should’ve offered to pay him back, but didn’t have the courage to say anything but a simple thanks. All the girls glared at you and made nasty faces, they were jealous, but you wondered what they were jealous of. It was just a simple treat, nothing too important to be upset about, but you didn’t care, you needed to finish these assignments and study for your upcoming exams.
A couple of hours have passed and you decided to take a break, you stood up and stretched for a bit and sat down and took a deep breath. You were very tired and wanted to sleep but you knew better not too. You put your head down for a bit and it wasn't until you felt someone's presence in front of you and heard the opposite chair move, you put your head back up and saw Sunoo sitting in front of you.
“I hope you don’t mind if I join you right?” he asked. “I don’t, but why me?” I questioned. “Well it just seemed like you needed a break, and well I just so happen to be on break,” he smiled. “Somewhat fair, but I’ll only say yes, because you gave me a treat,” I joked. “I’ll take it, so how’s your studying going along?” he asked. “It’s boring as usual. I cannot wait till this quarter is over, so I can be free and don’t have to drown myself in coffee,” I sighed. “Doesn’t that mean you’ll stop coming here?” he tilted his head. “Probably, it’s my last quarter there,” I said. “Then can I ask what your name is?” he shyly asked. “That’s right, you don't know my name, I’m (y/n) (l/n). Nice to meet you Sunoo,” I greeted.
Sunoo looks at you weirdly and gives you a confusing look, “How did you know my name?” he asked. “Uhm your name tag? And I hope you’re not dense but the majority of the girls here fangirl about you so that also gives it away,” I chuckled. “Right.. well I noticed you were a regular here!” he said. “Yeah, I live close by, and it’s a good place to study and have a coffee most of the time,” I said. “Well if you need anything, this place is always here for you, as well as I am,” he smiled.
You looked at him weirdly, and then he realized what he said was kind of weird and awkward, his ears started to turn red and he was panicking trying to speak words but it was really scattered. You chucked at him and smiled at him, he was really cute and you didn’t know if your heart could bear this cuteness. “I mean.. No… that's not.. I mean, I’m here to serve you coffee, because you know that’s my job,” he panicked. “I know what you meant,” I giggled. He looked at you and smiled, you could feel your cheeks turn red, and you looked down at your notes, trying to take deep breaths to calm yourself down. “I think it’s time for me to go back to study again, you should go,” I said. “Oh right! Thanks for letting me sit down with you on my break, I’ll let you study again. Let me know if you need any more coffee later,” he smiled.
You smiled at him and then he got up and smiled and waved off to you, and proceeded to go back to the counter and continue his work. After he went back you felt strong stares all around, you realized a bunch of girls were looking at you with angered faces. You turned back to your notes and heavily sighed, maybe it was better to not come back here if these girls were going to keep staring you down. But alas you decided to ignore all the stares and continue to just focus on your studies.
More hours have passed and it seemed like it was night time already. You looked up at the place and it seemed more packed than usual, and you thought maybe it was a good time to pack up and leave and head home to do some more studying instead of here. You looked around to see if Sunoo was still working, and you were correct, he was still ringing up customers and more girls came to stare at him. He looked very cute while working, and his smile to the customers was very charming. You were debating whether you should buy another drink before heading home. It seemed very busy and you didn’t want to bother and add more stress to Sunoo, but a part of you wanted to talk to him and say goodbye to him before leaving.
You decided to wait it out until the line lessened and then decided to get your drink, you made the excuse in your head that you needed more coffee to stay up tonight to study for your exams. After the line shortened you went up to him and he smiled at you. “More coffee?” he asked. “You bet, I have a big test soon, I need to study more,” I replied. “You know, you should give yourself a break sometime,” he smiled. “You’ve been studying the whole day,” he added on. “Oh? Were you staring at me?” I joked. “What… No.. Of course not,” he stuttered. “I’m joking Sun,” I laughed and then stopped. You realized you called him Sun. You thought to yourself, it was too soon to give him a nickname, “I mean Sunoo.” I panicked. “You can call me Sun, that’s fine. So what would you like?” he smiled. “I guess tonight, I’ll take an iced caramel macchiato,” I sighed. “Alright, coming right up,” Sunoo smiled.
You nodded and walked away and waited for your drink to be called, and after a few minutes he called out your drink and you walked towards him and went to grab your drink, he gave you another treat and you looked at him weirdly. “You haven’t eaten anything the whole day today besides the other treat I gave you, take it,” he smiled. “Sunoo, I can’t. I don’t want you to get fired! Oh my goodness no,” I panicked. “Don’t worry I bought the treat, just take it,” he smiled. “You didn’t have too,” you pouted. “I wanted too (y/n), just take it, you’re distracting me from my work,” he joked. “Fine, thanks Sun,” I blushed. “Bye (y/n)! See you tomorrow!” he said as he waved goodbye to you.
Your face turned red and you waved at him back and left, he knew he was a flirt and he knew he was playing with your feelings. You were falling for him and it wasn’t fair. You didn’t have time for romance, not now, but you couldn’t help it. You arrived home and debated whether you should skip out going to the cafe tomorrow, maybe it was better to avoid him, but you didn’t want too, he was just being nice to you, he’s just providing good customer service, that his job, you thought to yourself in order to convince yourself that he doesn’t like you.
In the end you lost sleep not because of studying but because of debating whether you should head to the coffee shop or not. You looked at your phone and realized it was 9AM already, you didn’t sleep until 5AM, you tossed and turned in bed thinking about Sunoo. You felt very gross and pathetic, what were you doing? You didn’t care anymore, today was the day you were going to the cafe shop and confront him and tell him you like him, and if he doesn’t feel the same way then he should stop doing all these things for you, because if he continues to do these things, you can’t help but to fall for him more.
You started walking towards the coffee shop, and once you reached the place you grabbed the handle and closed your eyes and took a deep breath and walked in. You looked up and saw him at the register and he waved and smiled at you, your heart was beating very fast and you smiled at him and waved. You walked up to the register and he greeted you. “Good morning, did you have a good sleep today?” Sunoo asked. “Not quite, I was stressed out about something and couldn’t sleep,” I sighed. “Are the exams that stressful for you?” he asked. “Not quite, they’re fine… It was about something else…” I trailed off. “Oh? We can talk more about this when I’m on my break if you want. So what would you like today?” he asked. “I’ll take a vanilla latte again,” I answered. “Okay, coming right up!” he smiled brightly.
Sunoo smiled at you sweetly and his crescent eyes appeared, you couldn’t help and stare, but realized there was somebody behind you and you walked away and headed towards the pick up area. As you were waiting for your drink you looked around to find a table, and this time you were in no luck, maybe today wasn’t the day to confess or ask him. As you looked in the far back to see if maybe there was just a tad bit of hope left, you saw an empty table, your eyes shined and you felt relieved until you saw someone sat down and your feelings disappeared. You looked at the guy who sat down and realized it was Riki Nishimura. You smiled and rushed over to Riki and gave him a big hug. “Riki! What are you doing here! You’re suppose to be in Japan!!” I asked. “I just got back, relax (y/n). It’s great to see you too,” he smiled. “You should’ve texted me or called me, you big dork,” I giggled. “Sorry, I was actually gonna show up and surprise you but I had some paperwork to do. What are you doing here?” he asked. “Uh, can we actually wait, let me get my drink first,” I replied.
He nodded and you went back to the pick up drink area, Sunoo looked at you and didn’t smile, he gave you the drink and then walked away without a word. Your heart sank a little bit, you grabbed the drink and walked away and walked towards the table where Riki was sitting. “Something wrong?” he asked. “It’s actually about the guy who works here…” I trailed off. “You mean Sunoo?” he smirked. “What? You know about him?” I asked. “He’s my roommate,” Riki laughed. “HE’S YOUR WHAT?” I shouted. “My roommate? Wait… Why? Wait… Do you like him (y/n)?” Riki snickered. “He’s cute… How can I not like him,” I pouted. “I mean… I guess,” he shrugged, and then his eyes widened. “Wait, are you the girl he likes…?” Riki questioned. “What do you mean? Does he like someone here?” I asked. “Yeah, he came home after work and started talking about a girl and said that she needed a break from studying and that she’s too hard on herself. He ended up rambling and saying that the girl is very cute and he admires her,” Riki replied.
Your face turned red and you remembered your conversation with Sunoo from last night. You started sipping on your drink and avoided eye contact with Riki as you felt him staring you down. “So it is you huh?” he smirked. “We had a similar conversation last night, and he somewhat said the same things you just said,” I blushed. “Well what are you waiting for! Go talk to him,” Riki insisted. “I can't. He didn't even look at me and give me a smile when I went to go get my drink, he was being kind of cold towards me…” I trailed off. “Maybe he thinks we’re dating,” Riki jokes. “Gross! You’re like my little brother,” I gagged. “And you’re like my big sister,” he rolled his eyes.
All of a sudden Riki’s eyes widened and he started to form a mischievous smile on his face, "I have an idea,” he snickered. “What are you thinking,” I asked in concern. “Trust me you’ll thank me later for this,” he winked. Riki grabs out his phone and starts typing super fast and then he stops. You look at him then hear a phone drop, you look over to see who it was and it was Sunoo and then he looks at you and starts walking towards you. “Riki Nishimura what the fuck did you say to him,” I panicked. “That you liked him and that we’re not dating and he should ask you out instead of being a stubborn prick,” Riki laughed. “RIKI, I WASN’T READY AT LEAST WARN ME,” I whined. “You better prepare yourself now, he’s coming closer to us,” Riki teased. “I wanted to tell him, ugh you’re the prick!” I pouted.
synops; it’s not like she didn’t love music, but maybe she loved music a little too much and happens to yap about it every so often. EN-O2Z is her favorite band and who she listens to almost everyday as her remedy, her scapegoat. Not to mention there’s a certain member who catches her attention! So what happens when her father asks her to accompany him to his Brisbane trip to see his best friend, and your father’s best friend has a son?
summary; It’s y/n summer vacation, and her father asks her to accompany him to his Brisbane trip to see his best friend, your father mentions that his best friend has a son name Jaeyun, but you don’t think much of it and agree on this trip because you don’t want your father to be alone.

When y/n was born her parents had already divorced and had decided to go their separate ways, they both realized it was for the best, there were no harsh feelings towards each other, they just fell out of love and didn’t want to continue being in each other's lives, it was understandable to them, but for y/n she didn’t understand, granted she was just a kid, but still. Her mother had custody of her, she would only see her father on weekends, and that’s how she lived, she didn’t quite understand the whole situation but there was nothing she could do about it, occasionally she would ask questions to both of her parents but their response was always, “when you’re older, you’ll understand,” obviously y/n as a kid didn’t understand but there was not much she could do but to accept it.
While y/n was younger she was always interested in music, it didn’t help that her mother was a music teacher, so naturally she came to love music. Her mother on the other hand wasn’t always fond of y/n being interested in music, she wanted y/n to focus more on her studies than on music. y/n’s mother always wanted what was best for her and she believed academics were way more important than music. Obviously y/n thought otherwise, but she couldn’t understand why her mother was always so hesitant with her wanting to learn music. So she made a proposal to her mom, if she kept up her grades and studies then in return her mother would let her attend music classes and let her learn how to play the guitar. For some reason y/n was always interested in wanting to learn the guitar, maybe it was because she enjoyed strumming the strings, or enjoyed the melody and tune, there was just something about it that made her happy. Her mother agreed only because she could see how strong and passionate y/n was about this, but she was very strict on y/n’s proposal, she made it very clear academics comes first and if her grades were to drop because of music, there would be no more music, no questions asked. At first y/n thought it wasn’t fair, and it was absurd, but y/n didn’t want to argue and agreed.
As years passed, y/n kept her bargain of the deal and kept up with grades and academics, while attending music classes and playing guitar as her hobby. Her mother was very shocked about how serious her daughter was when it came to music, but she was proud of her daughter nevertheless. Immediately after y/n graduated high school, she ended up attending prestigious school because her mother wanted her too. At first that wasn’t what y/n wanted, she wanted to attend college that specializes in music, but her mother refused. There was a big argument between them that had occurred, y/n wanted to devote her life to music, whereas her mother wanted her to devote her life into a career that would make her financially stable. Her mother thought it would be a waste to put all that hard work into music, but y/n thought otherwise. y/n had always felt grateful for her mother’s hard work as she was a single mom taking care of her daughter, it’s not to say she was the BEST mother but it’s not to say she was the WORST mother either. Her mother definitely had her moments, but regardless she still loved her mother.
Upon attending a prestigious school, y/n had to give up on music and her hobby of playing the guitar and it made her feel miserable. Music was her comfort, her solace, and she had missed playing the guitar so badly. Any free time that y/n had she would end up falling asleep trying to catch up on all of those hours of sleep she had lost because of an exam, or trying to understand a lecture concept. It wasn’t until y/n junior year of college she couldn’t stand it anymore, she was tired of living a life of just constantly studying and sleeping, lacking any social life, and not being able to do any of her hobbies.
Truth be told that she just really missed music and missed playing the guitar and wished her mother would be more understanding where she was coming from, but her mother didn’t. As time went by, her mother became more and more strict, applying pressure on to her that was suffocating, y/n wanted to give her mother the benefit of the doubt of believing her mother was doing all of this for her sake, but as days, and months went by it was becoming to overwhelming that she couldn’t handle it anymore. y/n and her mother started to clash more and started to get into the same repetitive arguments, her mother couldn’t quite understand her daughter and why she was rebelling, and y/n couldn’t quite understand why her mother was becoming so strict and harsh. It was the same repetitive argument where y/n wanted to quit school and focus on music and playing the guitar, whereas her mother refused and wanted y/n to continue school and focus on becoming a nurse, but with the same repetitive argument, her mother’s words started to become more harsh and hurtful, making y/n question if this was the same mother who loved her and wanted her to be happy.
Season: Winter 2024
Winter break had finally settled in for y/n and for once she finally felt at ease, she wanted to use this opportunity to ignore the academics and spend her time listening to music and brush up on her guitar skills. Immediately upon y/n plans for her winter break, her mom was upset and didn’t approve of her plans, she wanted y/n to still continue to study during her winter break and focus on academics. After one last repetitive argument, this was the final straw, her mother finally lashed out on her spewing hurtful words and forced y/n to officially quit music and threatened y/n she would throw away her guitar if she didn’t listen to her. y/n was so shocked and taken back at her mother’s words that she screamed at her mother telling her she was a terrible mother and didn’t want her to be happy. y/n’s mother was so shocked and appalled that y/n would even say that to her, and without even thinking she had slapped her own daughter across the face.
In y/n’s whole life, her mother had never laid a hand on her, and when that slap hit her face, y/n’s love, and respect for her mother had diminished. She held her cheek in shock and widened her eyes while tears formed, and looked at her mother. She couldn’t believe what just happened, and apparently her mother couldn’t believe it either because right after the slap she gasped and held her hand to her mouth. y/n could see the guilt on her mother’s face but she didn’t care, she was hurt, upset, and furious that her mother could even think to slap her across the face. y/n’s mother tried to speak and apologize but before she could, y/n cut her off and told her not to bother, she felt like she had all the right reasons to be upset and hurt, and with that happening she held onto her guitar tightly, and stormed out of their house.
y/n didn’t know where she was going, all she could think about was going somewhere far away from her mother at the time being, and so she walked. She walked until she found a bench and sat down, finally letting all of her tears out, all of the pent up anger, frustration, and stressed she had for long years, she had finally released all of her tears while holding on to her guitar tightly, just crying until her eyes became swollen and there were no more tears she could form. Her phone in her pocket kept ringing repetitively, she pulled out her phone and to her no surprise it was her mother who was causing the ringing. y/n sighed and put her phone on to the side letting it ring as she continued to cry some more, after a couple more rings, it had seemed like her mother had given up because her phone had stopped ringing.
A couple minutes later her phone rang again but this time it was her father calling, y/n had looked at her phone and decided to pick up the phone call. She wiped her tears and answered her father’s phone call. “Honey, where are you?” her father asked. “At the park, sitting on the bench,” she sniffled. “Did mother call you, and ask you to call me?” she asked. “Yeah… she’s very worried about you, she seems very upset,” her father said. “Why would she be upset, she was the one who slapped me,” y/n said. “I know honey, but you know she didn’t mean it, she told me what happened. I don’t necessarily agree with her, but please be safe. It’s getting dark outside,” her father said. “I don’t want to go home and see her father. Can I stay with you for the night?” y/n asked. “Of course, I’ll call your mother and let her know, I’m sure she’ll refuse the idea, but it’s okay. I’ll handle it. Just be safe on your way here,” her father said. “Okay, I’ll be there soon,” she replied. The phone call ended and y/n sat there still gripping on to her guitar, it had been a while playing the guitar but she decided to play it, as she strummed the strings, her mind started to become at ease, she closed her eyes and started to hum, swaying back and forth to let the melody guide her.
Despite y/n’s parents being divorced, it wasn’t like her relationship with her father was strained, it’s not like he was vacant in her life, it was just more like they weren’t just as close compared to her and her mother. When y/n was younger she definitely favored her father more, because he was more understanding of her passion for music and playing the guitar than her mother, but at that time it didn’t really bother y/n that much. When y/n started to get older, gradually she started to see her father less and less because she was too focused on her studies and felt like she couldn’t afford to miss out on her time on studying. Her father was always understanding, although it made him sad, because he just wanted to spend time with his daughter, he also wanted to respect her boundaries and always believed that she knew what she was doing and knew what was best for her. y/n’s father knew that his ex-wife was only looking out for y/n, but even if he knew where she was coming from, he didn’t exactly approve of it, but he knew better to not pick a fight with her and push her buttons. He always tried to stay neutral between his ex-wife and daughter arguments, and rants, but obviously he favored his daughter way more, and he wasn’t exactly fond of his ex-wife’s decisions either, but there was not much he could say or do, afterall she had custody of his daughter.
After a couple of minutes of playing the guitar, y/n took a deep breath and put her guitar down, she took a deep breath and put her head back, having it face the sky, her eyes open as the night has come and the stars start to become visible. It’s cold outside but she doesn’t mind, and so she sits there for a while just admiring the night sky. After a couple of minutes, she decides it’s time to head over to her father’s house. y/n gets up from the bench and picks her guitar up and hugs it close to her chest, and starts walking to her father’s place. Thankfully her father’s place wasn’t too far from where she lived, she felt relieved that it wasn’t that far of a walk, as she makes her way towards his place she sees a familiar car outside his house from a far, she knows that car from anywhere and it’s your mothers. When y/n walks closer to the house, she feels an unheavy, uncomfortable feeling in her chest, she doesn’t know what to expect but another lash out from her mother, and to her surprise she knows she’s not wrong.
y/n doesn’t bother acknowledging her mother’s car, she walks past her car and heads straight to the door, only to hear the car door open and it being slammed. She hears her mother call out her name, but she chooses to ignore it and continues to keep walking towards the door. Her mother tries to grab her arm and pull her but y/n pushes her back and keeps walking until she sees the front door open and her father by the door. y/n gives her father a faint smile as he’s by the door, he smiles at her and opens the door wider until he sees his ex-wife calling out his daughter’s name. y/n looks at her father and his smile drops, he forms a frown and steps outside the door.
“What are you doing here, I told you to not come here,” her father said. “She needs to come home to me,” her mother argued. “She doesn’t want to come home right now, just give her space,” he replied. “I refuse, y/n please come home. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for things to escalate,” her mother pleaded. y/n turns around and looks at her mother, her eyes were red and puffy, she could tell her mother felt bad, but just because she felt bad doesn’t mean y/n was ready to forgive her. “No, I want to stay here. Just go home,” y/n said. Her mother doesn’t budge and refuses y/n’s request, instead she walks towards y/n and pulls onto her wrist, y/n tries to pull back but her mother doesn’t let go, she holds on tight not willing to budge. “You’re coming home with me this instant!” her mother yelled. “Just let her go,” her father interjected. “Stay out of it, this isn’t your business,” her mother argued. “She’s also my daughter too,” he sternly replied. y/n’s mother ignores her father’s comment, and continues to drag y/n towards the car, y/n tries to fight back while screaming at her mother, but her mother doesn’t care. It isn’t until her mother lets go of her hand, and catches y/n off guard and yanks her guitar away from her and smashes it onto the floor breaking it. y/n’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped in shock, she yanks back the guitar and holds it close to her chest and starts to cry. “What the hell is wrong with you,” y/n cried. “I’m doing this for your own good,” her mother said. “I never want to see you again. I never want to talk to you! I hate you!” y/n screamed. “You don’t mean that,” her mother replied. y/n’s mother ignores her daughter’s hurtful words and pulls her again once more but with force, y/n pulls back in retaliation but she ends up pulling back too hard dropping her broken guitar on the floor and falling backwards on her wrist the wrong way. y/n felt a painful crack in her wrist, she held onto her wrist and tears started to form because of the pain.
y/n’s father hurriedly runs over to y/n trying to help her stand up as he realizes that his daughter is hurt and sees her holding on to her wrist tightly, compared to her mother who looks at her on the floor in disappointment. “Honey, are you okay? What’s wrong,” y/n’s father askes in panic. “My wrist.. It hurts, it hurts so much, I think it’s broken,” she cries. Her father tries to examine her wrist and he realizes that her wrist is indeed broken, he looks at her and shakes his head. He helps his daughter to stand up and he turns around and talks to her mother, “You need to leave now, or I will call the cops,” he threatened. “You wouldn’t dare,” she argued. “Never in my life have I ever butted into your guy's argument, but this is my last straw, you hurt her. You need to leave,” he angrily replied. y/n holds her wrist to her chest and can’t help but cry, but she says it one last time to her mother, “I don’t want to see you ever again, leave me alone. I’m going to stay with my father,” she sobbed. Her mother scoffed at both of them, “I hope you never touch that guitar again, one day you’ll thank me,” her mother said. She turns around angrily and walks towards her car door and slams it angrily, she starts her car and reverses her car in full force, and without even noticing a car driving full force from behind as she reverses, it instantly hits her mother’s car, causing the car to flip, turn and crash.
y/n’s cries out for her mother’s name as she witnesses the situation that occurred right in front of her. She panics and starts to shake, her father in panic starts shuffling in his pockets trying to look for his phone as he hurriedly tries to call the ambulance. y/n drops to the floor as she sees the car flipped upside down, she can’t bring herself to walk towards the car as she’s too scared to even think maybe her mother could be dead or alive.
The ambulance arrives within minutes, her father tells her to stay put as he knows his daughter is in an emotional distraught. y/n nods and sits there watching her father walk towards the area, he tells the ambulance the situation and waits for the people to retrieve her mother’s body. After a couple of minutes, y/n stands up and sees a gurney come out, she walks closer and realizes there’s a white sheet on top of the gurney, it doesn’t take long for y/n to realize the situation, but she starts to be in denial. She sees her father walk back towards her and he makes eye contact with her, he tries to open his mouth to speak, but he can’t seem to find the right words, but instead he shakes his head and closes his eyes trying to suppress the tears. y/n runs to her father as he opens his arms and hugs her tightly as she cries into his chest. “I’m sorry honey,” is all he can say to her; Date of Death December 11th 2024.
After the car crash occurred, and everything that happened with y/n’s mother, the pain of her wrist was still aching. y/n didn’t want to do anything about it, as she was numb to everything, but her father insisted because he didn’t want the situation to get worse. When her father takes y/n to urgent care to get a scan of her wrist, the doctor tells them that it’s definitely broken and surgery is required. y/n doesn’t bother to say anything and sits there in silence, it isn’t until she hears her father ask the doctor if she’s still able to play the guitar that her ears perk up and she finally listens into the conversation. “I’m afraid we won’t know until after the surgery, but by the looks of the scan, it’s not looking too good,” the doctor frowned. When y/n hears the doctor’s input, she holds onto her broken wrist tighter and can’t help but let the tears form. “But surely she’s still able to play right? With physical therapy and everything?” her father asked. “It’s possible, but it’s going to take time, and it might cause more damage. I’ll let you two talk about your options, but in the meantime I’ll start prepping for the surgery,” he replied.
y/n’s father heavily sighs and he walks towards y/n, he rubs her back and then proceeds to sit down on the chair. He watches his daughter clutch on to the wrist, and he sees the tears dripping down her face. He sits there in silence waiting for her to speak because he’s too scared to say anything that could make her cry even more. After a couple of minutes of silence, she finally speaks up, she wipes her tears away and looks at her father. “Maybe it’s for the best if I quit playing the guitar, maybe it was a sign,” y/n said. “But honey, you love playing the guitar,” he said softly. “But sometimes loving something isn’t enough to keep it going,” she sniffled. “Just think about it more okay? If you do change your mind it’s okay… don’t let your mother's words influence you either,” he said. “Influence? Influence me? How can she not influence me? She’s… She’s not even here!” y/n screamed. Finally all of the emotions y/n was holding inside her finally bursts and she lashes out in anger, her father who watches her raise her voice sits in silence and lets her lash out, as he knows she’s very much valid to do so. “She’s gone, and the things I said to her, I can never take back. Maybe this is my karma,” she cried. Her father stands up and hugs her tightly, “Honey, this isn’t karma,” he comforts her. “If I just went with her and didn’t retaliate this wouldn’t have happened. This is all my fault,” she sobbed. “It’s not your fault, this could’ve happened to you too,” he said. “But why wasn’t it me, why was it her,” she said. “Don’t you dare say that. Don’t you ever say that,” he said. “I just, I feel so guilty, this heavy pain in my chest that won’t go away. I told her I never wanted to see her again, but this isn’t what I meant,” she cried. “I know honey, it’s not your fault. Please, you didn’t know this was going to happen,” he said. “I can’t play the guitar, it’s just too much. Besides, she broke my guitar,” she sniffled. “I know it’s hard honey, but don’t let this stop you, it’s easier said than done. I know, but this was your passion,” he said. “I can’t do it. It hurts to even think about playing the guitar, I just feel guilty,” she said. “I know right now it hurts, and I won’t push you to do something you’re not ready for, whatever you want to do, I’ll be here to support you,” he reassures. y/n nods and wipes her tears away and holds onto her wrist again once more, “Thank you, but for now I don’t think I’ll ever touch the guitar,” she said. “If that’s how you feel, then that’s okay. I’ll support you through everything and anything,” he smiled.
Time Skip: Late Winter (Jan) 2025
After y/n surgery, things were still rocky for her, although her surgery was successful, there were still complications with her wrist but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Although she was glad her wrist was okay, it didn’t wash the guilt she held within her. Ever since her mother’s passing she vowed she wouldn’t play or touch the guitar simply because of the heavy guilt hovering over her and her mother’s words haunting her. Even though she feels thankful for how supportive her father has been there for her and everything that has happened, she still can’t help but feel guilty about her mother’s passing. It haunted her day and night, there were nights where she couldn’t sleep, nights where she would cry quietly in her bed not wanting her father to worry about her, nights where she would wake up screaming because of a terrible nightmare. It was suffocating for her, she didn’t know what to do, how to mend her heart, and how to let the guilt go, no matter how she looked at it her conclusion was that it’s her fault her mother ended up in that situation. She couldn’t help but blame herself, she couldn’t help but wish it was her instead of her mother, she knew it was bad to think like this, but she really couldn’t help it. Not after what she said to her mother, not after the words she said and can no longer take back.
After everything that has happened, y/n and her father decided to move somewhere new. It was probably one of the hardest decisions for y/n because it still felt like to her she was betraying her mother, moving far away, but she couldn’t stand living in a town that left traces of her mother that felt more haunting than comforting. Her father was also hesitant on moving somewhere new, but he really wanted to help his daughter and it really hurt him to see his daughter suffer in silence, it wasn’t an easy decision, and he didn’t think she would agree with the idea but in the end she did. Both y/n and her father decided to live in a town that was more quiet and reserved, they both preferred living in an area that wasn’t too loud, and they didn’t mind living in an area that limited them access to the city either.
Immediately upon moving, y/n didn’t want to admit it but moving to a different city and town made her feel a little bit more at peace and a tad bit more free. Of course the guilt was still there, but it started to become a bit more tolerable. After moving and settling down, it meant she had to transfer to a different college closer to her place. y/n in the beginning had a hard time starting the transfer, after all the hard work and dedication she put into her previous school, she didn’t want it to go to waste, but she knew she had to let it go and start a new journey. Of course y/n felt bad, but it was for her own sake she had to do this. She didn’t know what she wanted to major in anymore, she just knew it couldn’t be med, and it wouldn’t be music either, even if it pained her. y/n’s father never pressured her or pushed her to figure out things fast, he knew how her mother was to her and didn’t want to make the same mistake, instead he watched from a far and would always wait for her to confide in him first. y/n always felt thankful for how supportive her father was, it made her feel like she could trust him with almost anything and not feel judged for her actions and thoughts.
In the end after her transfer, she decided to major in psychology, with some of her previous credits transferring over, it helped cover her psychology credits. One of the biggest reasons why she decided on majoring in psychology was because after everything that happened with her mother she wanted to learn and understand more about mental health, but not only that she wanted to understand and learn healthy ways to cope. Slowly but surely majoring in psychology did give her a new perspective and it did help her alot in the very end but there was still some unsettling guilt and feelings that were still left lingering, but she always felt like they were always going to be there and there was nothing she could do about it but live with it.
Over time after attending the new school, y/n was able to make some new friends there surprisingly. Back at her old school she barely had time to socialize and meet new people, nevertheless make new friends, and so all of these things were still a bit new to her, but she was very much thankful. Although it’s still hard for her to interact with others and she still has a hard time socializing, she does very much enjoy it when she starts settling in and getting comfortable talking to others, it just took time with her, but she always felt thankful for those who would give her the chance and time to talk to her.
There would still be lingering thoughts about her mother’s passing, there’s not a day that goes by where she doesn’t think about her mother, but in the past recent days it’s gotten better where she doesn’t feel that heavy pain in her chest, but it's only if she’s not thinking too much about it. At times where y/n would feel overly excited, or happy she did feel more guilty than usual, and it’s maybe to say because of the unsettling guilt that still sticks with her. Even if she studied psychology and knew positive coping mechanisms, it never meant she was able to fulfill those positive coping mechanisms. It was always easier said than done, but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t try either, it’s just really hard for her.
Time Skip: Early Spring (March) 2025
Ever since y/n’s mother passed away she basically lost her stress relievers, which was listening to music and playing the guitar, y/n had a hard time listening to music. At first she couldn’t stand hearing anything whether it was any kind of instrument, melody, or tune, anything music related she felt numb, and her heart ached immensely as she just felt resentment, guilt, anger and sadness. So she stayed away from listening to music, and playing the guitar, she no longer had a guitar, but even if she had one she vowed to never touch it ever again. She tried finding other ways to cope and stress relief but they didn’t exactly help her as much, but it was the thought that counted for her and the efforts that she tried.
y/n’s father felt really relieved and happy to see that his daughter was trying to get better, although it broke his heart to see his daughter not love music anymore and not want to touch the guitar, he understood where she was coming from. In time he thinks one day she’ll be able to love music again and hold the guitar but he knows it’s not anytime soon and it’s okay. All he cares about is his daughter’s well-being and mental health, and if there’s anything he can do or help he will try too. He was really glad to see that his daughter was willing to try to find healthier coping mechanisms, he even tried to help by suggesting therapy but she declined his offer. He thinks y/n is not ready for that kind of help, but also thinks she might be too scared, and he understands and doesn’t push on the idea, but a part of him believes it could really help her.
“Do you want to go to this restaurant tonight for dinner,” y/n’s father asked. “What’s this? We’re eating out tonight?” she teased. “I thought it would be nice to have a change of scenery, I know you’re not the biggest fan of going out to eat, but it doesn't hurt to do it once in a while,” he smiled. “I suppose,” she smiled. Her father laughs and ruffles her telling y/n to head upstairs and rest a bit before dinner, she smiles at her father and proceeds to walk to her room to lay down for a bit.
A couple hours had passed by and y/n’s father knocked on her door telling y/n to get ready for dinner, she had replied by telling her father she would be down in a minute. After getting all dressed up and cleaned up for dinner she headed downstairs as her father was waiting for her by the door smiling at her. He asked her if she was ready and she gave him thumbs up, they both headed out the door and he proceeded to get into the car and drive towards the restaurant her father was taking her. “So which restaurant are we headed to?” y/n asked. “It’s a new one, it’s sort of like a bar, but not really,” he replied. “Woah, a bar? I never thought to see my father taking me to a bar,” she joked. “Well, it’s not like that, but I think you might like this place,” he smiled. “I trust you,” she said. After a couple more minutes of driving, both y/n and her father arrived at the restaurant. When y/n walked out of the car she stood there looking at the exterior of the building, it was very well presented and looked a little fancy, but she wasn’t complaining. After closing the car doors, they both walked towards the restaurant and went inside. When they entered the restaurant, y/n’s mouth dropped and she looked at her father in shock, “this place looks out of our budget, are you sure we should eat dinner here,” she asked. “Don’t worry about it, like I said. It’s only once in a while we go out and eat,” her father laughed.
As they waited for the worker to let them be seated, y/n couldn’t help but let her eyes wander around the restaurant as she never knew a place like this could be so pretty. When the worker finally finds a table for them to be seated she guides them to a table close to a stage, at first y/n didn’t think much of it, but for some reason as she walked closer to the seating close by the stage she felt very uneasy and nervous sitting close to the stage. Her father notices her face starting to drop, but he chooses not to speak of it, waiting to see where it leads, because after all this was part of his plan. The uncomfortable feeling for y/n doesn’t fully hit until she’s fully seated, noticing she’s more closer to the stage more than she thought, which meant she was bound to hear the music very clearly, but she had hoped the stage was a mere prop and there wouldn’t be anyone playing on the stage, but she was wrong. The moment the waiter seated them down, they heard the microphone and a person speaking through the mic. “Oh! You’re just in time for their performance! Don’t worry they’re really good performers,” the waitress winked. y/n sat in her seat, gripping on to her wrist tightly as she felt nervous, uneasy, and scared. Her father notices how hard she’s gripping on to her wrist and he holds her hand underneath tightly to give her reassurance and nods, “it’s okay, I’m here with you,” he mouthed. y/n gulps and nods and gives her father a faint smile.
“Hello guys! Thank you for coming here! To be honest it’s our first time performing here! We hope you like it!” the guy said. As y/n looks up to see three guys standing on top of the stage, she can’t help but stare, and it’s maybe because they’re all very good looking, or maybe it’s because the guy who spoke has a very nice accent that has caught her attention, but the moment she sees the strap that clings on to his body, she realizes they’re a band that plays instruments. Two guitarists and a drummer to be exact, y/n looks away for a brief moment, closing her eyes tightly trying to take deep breaths to calm herself down as she doesn't know what to feel anymore. It had been a long time since she had heard instruments, let alone seeing a sight of a guitar in her eyes, her father noticed her panic and put his hand on her shoulder. “Give them a chance, you don’t have to look at them, but maybe close your eyes and take deep breaths,” he suggested.
Truthfully, her father knew there was a band coming into town and was going to play at this restaurant, he seemed hesitant at first to take his daughter there, scared it would backfire on him, but he wanted to believe in his daughter, and wanted to believe she was strong to maybe face it head on now. When he first heard of the restaurant, he thought it would be nice to eat there in general, but when he looked into the restaurant more closely and realized there would be a band playing here, he didn’t want to miss this opportunity and hoped this could help his daughter find her passion and love for music again.
y/n nods at her father’s suggestion and closes her eyes trying to take deep breaths as she feels nervous and scared of having a meltdown. When he hears them introduce themselves, she takes into account their band name, and their names. “We’re the EN-O2Z, my name is Jake and I’m the singer and one of the guitarists,” he introduces. “Hello, my name is Jay! I’m the other guitarist,” he said. “Hi, I’m Sunghoon and I play the drums!” he said. “Alright, this song is a sneak peak to our new album, we hope you all enjoy it, the first song is called ‘foreshadow’” Jake said.
When y/n hears the strum of the guitar her heart breaks, as there are some flashbacks of her mother popping into her head, as she remembers the regretful argument she had with her mother before her passing. She tries to take more deep breaths slowly, inhaling and exhaling as she hears the three boys play and sing their song. It isn’t until she gets lost in their lyrics and starts to find comfort in Jake’s voice as he sings his lyrics, “Tomorrow I realized ahead of time, I am no longer, I am no longer afraid. Even when the world tests me, the day of promise will come. Please follow my footsteps and follow me too,” he sings. When y/n hears those lyrics she starts to find more comfort, and starts to open her eyes looking at them play their instruments while singing. Her eyes only focus on Jake as she sees how passionate he sings into his mic, and strums the guitar with rhythm, and when she finally gives into defeat, she no longer feels a heavy pain in her chest, but instead she feels more calm and a bit at peace. She closes her eyes again once more but it’s not because she’s nervous and scared but because she wants to focus in on the melody, the tune, everything she can because it had been so long it felt like she had forgotten what it was like to be connected again with music.
y/n’s father smiles at his daughter, as he notices that his daughter is no longer gripping on to her wrist tightly, as she’s let go of her wrist and her hands are now resting on her lap, her shoulders slowly dropping down to relax, and how he sees a small faint smile on her face as she’s swaying back in forth while listening to the band sing their song and play their instruments. He sighs in relief at being able to see his daughter enjoy music for the first time in a long time, and it makes him happy, because he knows deep down his daughter misses music.
After EN-O2Z finishes playing foreshadow, y/n opens her eyes again, she looks at the three boys who are standing up on the stage and thanking everyone who just listened to their first song. She smiles in awe as they’re ready to announce their next song playing. For the first time in a long time she starts feeling excited and there’s this tingly feeling inside her. The feeling feels foreign to her given it’s been a long time, and yet even when it felt foreign it also felt like she was coming back home and back to her safe haven. “I’ve missed this smile on your face,” her father smiled. “Was all of this all of your doing,” she raised an eyebrow out of curiosity, “maybe, but it doesn’t matter does it?” he asked. “Mayhaps not, but do you even think I have a right to even feel like this,” she questioned. “To reconnect with music, to feel happy because of music,” she frowned. Her father grabs y/n’s hand and holds it tightly out of reassurance, “Honey, I know it’s hard to let go of the past, but we can’t control our past anymore, and you shouldn’t let it dictate the present and future. Forget about the thoughts of not having the right to feel a certain way, or doing certain things, you have always deserved it, nevertheless. What happened back then was never your fault to begin with,” he said. When y/n’s hears her father’s words, she can’t help but start to tear up, she understands where her father is coming from, she understands that her father just wants her to be happy, but despite his comforting words, there will always be this small pain in her heart and mind that can’t be helped and she feels awful. It’s not that her father’s words aren’t enough to comfort her but it’s her own demons inside that can’t help but ruminate. “Thank you for always trying your best with me, I don’t know what I’d do without you, I’m so thankful that you’re my father,” she said while wiping her tears away from her eyes, “Of course, you’re my daughter. I will always be here for you, and I always want the best for you,” he said as he helped wipe away her tears. y/n laughs and smiles at her father and nods, “thank you ,” she smiled. “Anytime honey, now let’s listen to the next song” he smiled back.
When the heartfelt conversation ends between the two, y/n looks back at the boys who are getting ready to play the next song. She takes a super deep breath, and tries to remind herself about her father’s words, “Thank you for listening to foreshadow, our next song we will be playing is my personal favorite! It’s called ‘shout out’ . We hope you enjoy this one!” Jake cheered. The moment y/n hears the instrument play and hears the melody and tune, she knows she’s in for a ride, but she can already tell she’s going to love this song, and she wasn’t wrong. As she watches the three boys play and sing their hearts out, she's awestruck, she can’t help but smile, she doesn’t realize that in the moment when she watches them she no longer feels trapped, she no longer feels the guilt within her. When she hears Jake sing the lyrics and pays attention to the wording, she resonates with the song and lyrics, she feels safe and secure. It’s a bonus that she finds Jake cute which makes her heart thump even more but that’s besides the point. The feeling that she had once felt back then was finally returning and she was overwhelmed, it had been so long, but she wasn’t upset, if anything she felt alive, free, she’s missed this feeling more than anything.
Although y/n has slightly given into listening to music, and is starting to warm up to the idea of listening to music again, it doesn’t mean she’s ready to want to pick up and play the guitar, if anything she’s still mortified to even hold the guitar, but she reminds herself things take time, small steps, big steps, they all take time. Slowly but surely maybe in the near future she can reconnect with it, but for now listening and watching someone else play the instrument and sing will suffice as to her this is just mayhaps the beginning, it may have seen like a small step, but to her this was a big step that she was glad she was able to take.
“Thank you guys for listening, that’s it for now! We’re a bit new to this, so we like to thank the restaurant for giving us a chance to play our music, and we like to thank the audience for tuning in and listening to our music! Your support means the world to us, and we hope to become bigger, please support us and our journey! Thank you!” Jake bowed. y/n listens to Jake’s words carefully and smiles at him, he notices her smile and smiles back, but to her she doesn’t think much of it as she thinks he’s just smiling to everyone in the crowd. His bandmates make their ending ment and they all stand up and bow, the crowd cheers and claps, and y/n joins in on the cheering and clapping. She watches them lift their heads up and proceeds to watch their presence disappear off the stage, she wishes she could hear more of their music and she’s shocked herself to even think that, but there was something about them that really caught her attention.
Time Skip: Early Summer (June) 2025
Months later after discovering EN-O2Z, y/n doesn’t want to admit it, but she’s fallen into a rabbit hole of loving them more than she expected. After watching their live performance for the first time and enjoying their music and performance, she’s become a big fan of them ever since. She was really happy and glad they were starting to get recognition when months passed by after discovering them. Because of that it gave her more of the opportunity to learn more about the members, and it was still no doubt that she still very much liked Jake the most, and it’s not like she didn’t like the others more, but there was just something about him that made her really admire him and like him. She respected Jake alot, knowing his strong passion of playing the guitar and creating music, as well as writing songs, she’s very much thankful for coming across EN-O2Z, but then again it was all thanks to her father for giving her the push.
Ever since discovering the band, y/n has felt much better, from time to time there will be some slight guilt that surfaces but she tries her best to push the thoughts away, but when things get hard and rough for her, she will listen to EN-O2Z to find her comfort. They have become her safe haven, her comfort, and her peace, and she doesn’t mind it. y/n could talk about them all the time and wouldn’t get bored, she’s come out of her shell more thanks to EN-O2Z, not to mention that’s how she met her best friend Hana. She met Hana one day at a cafe, it was super embarrassing because y/n’s music started to play super loudly in the shop, she didn’t realize her headphones weren’t connected until it was too late, but that’s when Hana approached her and started to fangirl a tad bit finding someone who also listened to EN-O2Z and that’s how they became friends. y/n was very much thankful that Hana was the one who initiated the conversation, because if it wasn’t for Hana being the initiator, y/n thinks her and Hana probably wouldn’t have become friends that day, and y/n would’ve jolted out of that cafe that day out of embarrassment, but thankfully Hana stopped and approached her.
After everything that has happen to y/n she’s starting to find herself more and learning new things about herself, she’s always been grateful for her father being by her side supporting her through everything, she’s also very much thankful for her father introducing her to EN-O2Z because now she really can’t imagine her life without EN-O2Z, y/n thinks without them im her life, things would’ve been much harder and so with that she’s very much forever thankful and grateful to both her father and EN-O2Z. When y/n’s father started to see y/n become interested in music again, more particularly EN-O2Z he was really happy for her, he knew how much she loved music and to see that strong passion of loving music forming back again, it really brought him joy. He’s thankful for introducing her to this band, and thankful that she gave music another second chance.
“Say, summer vacation is coming up, would you like to go to Australia with me?” y/n’s father asked. y/n looked at her father weirdly, out of all the places, she never thought her father would be interested in wanting to go to Australia. She raises an eyebrow at her father and answers him, “Australia? Don’t you think that’s kind of random? We don’t know anyone in Australia either?” she questioned. Her father chuckles, “You don’t, but I do. I recently reconnected with one of my old best friends, and we’ve been talking a lot recently. He suggested the idea of visiting him and showing us around the city over there,” her father answered. “Since when did you have a best friend in Australia?” she asked. “We were college friends, but he moved to study there, and then started living there,” he said. “I mean, I don’t mind flying to Australia, but what city?” y/n asked. “Brisbane!” her father exclaimed. When her father mentions Brisbane, her ears perk up, she knows that city, it's the city that Jake’s from, but she keeps it to herself, but she silently squeals in her head. She nods to her father and tries to act calm, “Sure, I’ll go!” she answered calmly. “Great! I’ll let him know! Don’t worry you won’t feel lonely! He has a son so maybe you two could chat and become friends,” her father cheered. “Father, I would hope you know, I’m exactly the best socializer,” she laughed. “You’re right, well let’s hope his son is the socializer!” he laughed.
When y/n finishes her conversation with her father, she excuses herself and runs to her room, she feels excitement in her bones as she gets to fly to Australia, but not only that she’s flying to Jake’s hometown! She’s always been curious about what it's like in Brisbane, and so she’s excited she gets the opportunity to travel and see what it’s like over there. Whenever she would hear Jake talk about Brisbane from his interviews, she would get excited and want to check out the places he recommends or talks about. She plops onto her bed and turns on her bluetooth speaker, and plays her EN-O2Z playlist, she pulls out her phone and she immediately texts Hana about her summer trip. “Hana! I’m flying to Brisbane!” y/n texted. “No way! That’s so exciting! Please send me updates and pictures and of course send updates about the places to go! Don’t forget the places Jake recommends,” she replied back. “Of course! I’ll be updating you on all the places I go! My father is going to see his best friend, apparently his best friend has a son, but that’s not what I’m here for,” she texted. “Hey! He could be cute! Give him a chance, you never know!” Hana replied. y/n laughed at Hana’s message and tossed her phone onto the side, she stared at her ceiling while listening to the music, she couldn’t help but feel just a tad bit excited for this upcoming trip.
Time Skip: Mid Summer (July) 2025
As her father sits in the car with excitement, silently squealing because he’s about to see his long time best friend who he hasn’t seen in years, he sits next to her all giddy and she looks at him and chuckles. y/n hasn’t seen her father happy in so long and so it warms her heart when she sees her father get all happy and excited, it sort of reminds her how she gets when she gets to see EN-O2Z, or when she listens to them full blast into her ears.
y/n vaguely remembers her father mentioning his best friend had a son, but she doesn’t put much thought about it, nor does she care because it’s not part of her interest in mingling and meeting new people. She’s introverted, shy, and minds her business, but that doesn’t make her anti-social because once you get to her she becomes a yapper and yap yap yaps about anything and everything but she’s only capable of making that happen if she’s comfortable.
She thinks her father mentioned the son only because he didn’t want her to feel lonely on this trip, but to her she doesn’t mind. It’s her summer vacation, she has nothing to lose and besides she’s always wanted to go to Australia and travel, not to mention it’s one of the EN-O2Z members hometown and she’s curious about his homeland, and what it’s like over there.
Once the car pulls up to the given address, y/n watches her father immediately get out of the car excitedly and he sees his best friend and runs over to give him a hug and greets him. She laughs at him and thanks the taxi driver for dropping them off and proceeds to take the luggage out of the car. As she pushes the luggages towards the door, she comes closer to her father’s best friend and greets him and bows, he smiles at her and pulls her in for a hug and greets her.
“y/n right? It’s so nice to finally meet you! Your father talks a lot about you, but in a good way! I’m so glad you could make it on this trip and accompany your father. Although, I hope you don’t mind us spending time together to catch up,” he says. “It’s no problem, feel free to take him. He’s literally been too excited about this trip. I haven’t seen him this giddy and happy in ages” she smiles. “Thank you for that, you’re too sweet. Well, just go right ahead and make yourself feel at home, upstairs there are 4 rooms, one of them is mine, and another one is my son’s, and there’s one for you and your father. I figured you would want your own room!” he smiles. “Thank you for that. I was kind of hoping I could get my own room. Not that I don’t love my father but I can’t stand his loud snores,” she joked. “No… I figured. Anyways, yes, your room is on the far left. Feel free to ask me anything or even my son! His name is Jaeyun and he’s currently in his room doing something but you’ll both soon meet,” he says.
y/n nods and enters the door with the luggage, she first grabs her luggage first and starts carrying it up the staircase and as she starts carrying it up the staircase, your father’s best friend makes one last comment, “Oh, if you ever need a tour around the city or anything feel free to let me know and I’ll ask Jaeyun to show you around, or feel free to ask yourself!” he mentions. She nods and gives him a thumbs up and proceeds to walk up towards the room.
When she finally makes it up the staircase, she looks around the house and it seems very neatly organized and clean, she walks towards the hallways and finds a room that has a door slightly opened, she assumes it could potentially be her room and so she walks towards closer to the room, and as she walks closer to the room, she notices another room across from her, there’s loud music coming from that door and you recognize that music from anywhere.
It’s EN-O2Z, she mildly starts freaking out and starts getting excited herself, because she absolutely loved meeting people who liked listening to them, but for now y/n tries to contain her excitement and walks towards the slightly opened door room. y/n opens the door fully and takes a look around the room and she admires how cute and cozy the room looked, as she walks towards the bed with her luggage she leaves it near the bed stand and plops on the bed for a moment wanting a bit of rest.
Her back on the bed as she faces the ceiling, she pulls out her phone to text her best friend that she’s made it safely to Brisbane and then proceeds to open her music app and play her EN-O2Z playlist and tosses her phone on the side. This playlist was her safe haven, when she’s happy, sad, or anything she’ll listen to it because it makes her feel at peace, because it gives her comfort. As the music plays she closes her eyes for a bit to listen to the melody, the voices, and the instruments being played, she loves them, she really loves them. After one song finishes playing she realizes she should go back downstairs and tell her father she wanted to rest a bit more.
When y/n pulls herself up from the bed and grabs her phone where she tosses it, she puts the upcoming song on pause and puts her phone back in her pocket. She hops off from the bed and walks out of the door, and when she walks out of the door she notices the room door across from her is about to open. y/n doesn’t think much about it and continues to walk but the moment when the door opened at full force, she couldn’t help but feel startled.
As y/n looks at the opened door and then immediately looks at the boy who’s standing in front of her, it's only to realize he’s not just your father’s best friend's son, he’s not just any boy who’s name is apparently Jaeyun. No, to her, in y/n’s eyes that's Sim Jake. The one and only Sim Jake from EN-O2Z standing right in front of her, y/n’s eyes widened and she quickly turns around immediately sprinting back to her room and slams her door in panic. She covers her mouth in shock and slides down against the door.
“What in the fuck is going on,” she panics. y/n immediately pulls out her phone and frantically looks for her best friend's contact name and messages her, “HANA… JAKE’S IN THE HOUSE,” is all she could text, “WAIT WHAT, WHAT DO YOU MEAN JAKE’S IN THE HOUSE!!!” she replied. “I MEAN, MY FATHER’S BEST FRIEND SON, YEAH HIS SON IS JAKE!!!!” she replied. “You’re lying, oh my god,” Hana said. “HANA THIS IS CODE RED, WHAT DO I DO??” she texted frantically. “Girl, if I were you I would talk to him, but that’s me and you’re you…” she answered. “HEY!” y/n said. “Sorry, just try to be calm, be calm, you know if you act too nervous it might feel insincere and he might be weirded, just act nonchalant!!” she said. “How do I act like a chill girl! This is the guy that I lowkey have a fat crush on, this is the guy who’s the lead singer of EN-O2Z! OUR FAV BAND DSAJKFHDS,” she panicked. “All you big dawg!! You got this. It’s actually very late over here and I have to sleep. Text me updates!! Love you girl mwah!” she said.
y/n stares at her conversation with Hana and she’s lowkey hyperventilating because she’s still in shock that she ran into Jake, she gets up from the door and starts pacing back and forth not knowing what to do until she hears a knock on her door and she jumps up in a startle, “honey are you okay?” her father asked. y/n panics and runs to the door and opens the door slightly barely letting her face show through the cracks of the door. “y/n what are you doing, come downstairs, we’re about to have lunch,” her father said. “O-okay,” she stuttered. “I’ll be down in a minute,” she answered. “Great!” he replied happily. y/n closes the door once again and starts pacing back and forth in pure panic, she keeps telling herself to get it together or else it’s over for her. She doesn’t want to embarrass herself in front of Jake, nor does she want to see him up close, because she fears she is going to lose it all. She can’t even fathom listening to her EN-O2Z playlist either because the real deal is outside her door and it’s going to overstimulate her even more.
y/n takes one last deep breath and braces herself and opens the door, she looks around to see if Jake’s around, she doesn’t see him, and so she takes one more deep breath and walks out of her room and downstairs, she sees her father and her father best friend sit at the dining table talking away. y/n hears the laughs and sees the smile on both of their faces, a smile appears on her face as she’s glad to see the two of them talk and laugh, she knew her father wasn’t interested in dating after the divorce, but she could tell her father was a tad bit lonely, he didn’t have much friends, because majority of his friends were abroad, so seeing him interact with his friend made y/n happy. As she walks closer to them, they both turn their heads over and greet her with a smile, her father pulls out the chair next to him and pats the seat signaling her to sit next to him. She walks towards the chair and sits down and smiles back, “Are you hungry y/n? Lunch is about to start, we’re just waiting on Jaeyun! He should be coming down in just a second” his father said.
y/n hands start to sweat, but she doesn’t want to give away how nervous she is, and so she nods and smiles at him. Her ears perk up as she hears the footsteps become louder and louder until it stops and his father sees his son in view, “Jaeyun! This is y/n! And this is y/n’s father! They’ll be staying with us for a couple of weeks. y/n’s father is my best friend from college. y/n, and y/n’s father, this is my son Jaeyun!” Jake’s father said. y/n can’t bring herself to look at Jake, she’s freaking out inside and her hands become sweatier, she hears her father move, he turns around from his seat and sees his face and something in his brain clicks. “Oh! Aren’t you… you’re the kid from the band at that one restaurant!” her father exclaimed. When y/n’s father realizes who Jaeyun is, he looks over at his daughter and there’s a teasing smile that appears on his face, she shakes her head and smacks his lap to signal to her father not to mention anything. “You’ve met my son?” Jake’s father asked. “Well not formally met, we saw his band perform back in March at a restaurant! He’s really good. I didn’t know your son was in a band, and was a star,” her father said. “Right… He did mention to me he was traveling over to Korea performing, but who would’ve thought he performed at the restaurant you guys were at! Maybe it was fate!” Jake’s father smiled. “Wait, his name is Jaeyun? I thought his name was Jake?” her father questioned. Her ears perk up when she hears Jake chuckle, and slowly she looks up to see his face. Yep, it was indeed the Sim Jake right in front of her, in fact smiling at her and at her father, who would’ve thought, “It’s both! It’s nice to meet the both of you. Jaeyun is my Korean name, but my English name is Jake. Feel free to call me whatever, I don’t mind either!” Jake smiled. y/n’s father nudges her and gives her the look of wanting her to introduce herself to Jake, but she’s hesitant, and that doesn’t stop her father from another nudge. She breathes out deeply and smiles shyly, “Hi… it’s nice to meet you too,” she said quietly while locking eyes with Jake. He smiles at her and she looks away shyly panicking as she’s fidgeting with her hands in her lap.
Immediately after introductions, Jake proceeded to take a seat next to y/n, obviously y/n tries to avoid eye contact with him and continues to stare down at her food and play with it. She doesn’t have any appetite, and can’t focus on eating as she still can’t believe in her eyes that Jake is sitting next to her. The room isn’t silent considering both of their fathers are talking to one another, and laughing away, but it isn’t until Jake’s father notices y/n hasn’t really touched her plate of food, that he finally makes a comment about it, “y/n are you not hungry?” his father asked. “I’m sorry, I don’t really have an appetite. I thought I would be hungry, but I think I’m just tired. Is it okay if I excuse myself to rest a bit?” y/n she asked. “Oh honey, if you were tired, you could’ve told me. I would’ve let you rest. Go upstairs and rest a bit then!” y/n father replied. “Yes of course, Jaeyun can wrap up the food for you, just in case you’re hungry later, it’s there for you,” Jake’s father smiled. y/n nodded and thanked both of the fathers and stood up and bowed to the both of them excusing herself from the dining table. She doesn’t dare to look at Jake, and instead immediately walks towards upstairs and straight to her room to lay down and rest.
Jaeyun’s eyes watches y/n stand up from the chair and excuse herself, his eyes trail to her as he looks at her walking towards the staircase, he can’t help but form a cheeky grin on his face as he can't believe it himself that he’s able to have crossed paths again with y/n. In all honesty, Jaeyun remembers y/n from the restaurant back then, but how could he not? He thought she was super pretty and cute. There was something about her that made him become interested in her, but he couldn’t pinpoint it. Jaeyun remembers that day clearly, when he performed those two songs, he was in awe seeing y/n’s expression that day, he could see how much she was enjoying their music and he felt very thankful that she enjoyed it. He also remembers regretting that day not talking to her, he thought about shooting his shot, but he was still a newbie, and was really focused on his career. Jaeyun knew he wouldn't have time to prioritize dating or relationships if he did approach her, but that didn’t stop him from feeling regret. But the moment he saw her standing by the door across his room, watching her silently freak out and rushing back into her room closing the door on him, he couldn’t help but believe that maybe it was some kind of destiny or fate that brought her back to him.
“I actually can’t believe Jake's your son!” y/n’s father smiled. y/n’s father looks around to make sure his daughter isn’t listening or in the room to hear what he has to say, but he whispers to Jake quietly, “My daughter is a huge fan of EN-O2Z. You’re her favorite,” he winks. “But don’t tell her I told you! She’s really shy, so I'm going to apologize in advance if she doesn’t interact. She’s probably freaking out right now as we speak, just give her time!” he said. “It’s okay. I’m glad she’s a fan of our band, it’s always nice to have supporters! And don’t worry sir, I won’t tell her,” Jake winked back. “But thank you for telling me! I’ll do my best to have her feel comfortable around me,” Jake said. “Thank you Jake! I also just want to thank you and your band, your music is really good, and it’s really helped her alot. I won’t say much but your music has really changed her life for the better and I’m glad. So keep up the good work, I’m also sure she’s very much thankful for you and your band as it’s comforted her alot. But truly thank you!” y/n’s father said. Jake’s father coughs jokingly and laughs, “Shouldn’t you be thanking me, I’m the one who raised him!” Jake’s father jokes. “Thank you for your kind words sir, as it means a lot to me. I will admit, it’s thanks to my father for supporting me and my dreams that I’m able to come this far, but It means alot to me to know how much our band and music has helped her,” Jake smiled.
When Jaeyun finishes eating his lunch, he excuses himself from the dining table, he bows to the both of them and walks towards the staircase and upstairs. Jaeyun couldn’t help but replay y/n’s father’s words in his mind, telling Jaeyun that she was his favorite, he couldn’t help but feel a bit giddy knowing he was her favorite member out of the three. It sparked a bit of ego and confidence in him, which led him to think and debate whether or not he should approach her first or wait for y/n to approach him first. He reaches upstairs and stares at y/n’s door that’s across from his room, he walks closer just because that’s where his room is also, but he stands near her door feeling hesitant to knock, as he scared of scaring her away, and doesn’t want her to feel nervous, but he knows in his gut feeling it’s highly likely y/n won’t approach him first. He leans in a bit to her door hearing a familiar melody, and he hears the volume slightly raise higher until he’s able to hear it fully and recognizes that she’s playing their song. His face lights up and he knows he’s smiling like a fool, he really feels like it’s fate that has brought them together and believes it’s now or never.
When y/n enters her room she plops back on to her bed and turns on her music, she hesitates for a second but she can’t help it, she wants to hear her comforting songs, her favorite songs that help her calm down and help her feel at ease. It isn’t until she hears a knock on her door, she thinks its her father so she gets up without thinking and opens the door, and it isn’t until she sees Jake standing in front of her door smiling brightly, and again without thinking, panic takes over her body and she shuts the door quickly in his face once again. He knocks one more time and her body jolts up as she doesn’t know why Jake would be knocking on her door, she opens the door slightly not wanting him to see her face because she can feel her cheeks burning, “I’m highly aware you know who I am, as I can hear you playing our music,” he said. y/n slightly opens the door a bit more, and the door crack becomes slightly visible, she holds on to the door knob for her dear life as if she’s afraid of passing out from the nervousness she feels in her stomach. “W-wh-what is it that you want,” she stutters severely. “Nothing exactly. I swear, I don’t bite, I just want to talk,” Jake said. y/n is taken back from Jake’s words, she’s confused why Jake would want to talk to her, if anything she was hoping he wouldn’t approach her, “Why do you want to talk,” she said quietly. “Well for starters maybe I’d like to thank you for supporting us, and two because you’re my father’s best friend's daughter, so we kinda do have to talk,” he answered. y/n realizes that he makes a fair point, she remembers his father mentioning he would probably be taking her around places and showing her around, but that was before realizing Jaeyun was Jake! Now she’s at a loss not knowing if she’ll be able to handle talking to him, let alone be near him.
“You make a fair point, but what if I don’t want to talk right now…” she trailed off. “Then let me do the talking,” he laughed. “Just open the door, I promise nothing bad will happen,” Jake assured. “I know nothing bad will happen, I’m just nervous right now,” she panicked. “There’s nothing to be nervous about y/n. I’m still just a normal person, just forget that I’m Jake from EN-O2Z. I’m Jaeyun right now,” he said. y/n hesitates to open the door as she is still holding on to the door knob tightly, and is barely leaving a visible crack open, she slightly opens the door further and see’s Jake standing there smiling at her. Once the door is fully open and she’s in full view of him, still smiling, he waves and reaches out his hand, y/n looks at his hand reaching out to her, she’s reluctant on reaching out her hand, because she doesn't know if he’s asking for a handshake, or if he’s going to grab her hand and pull her out of her room. y/n slowly reaches out her hand but she could feel her hands tremble out of nervousness, surely but slowly she manages to reach for his hand and he holds on to her hand tightly and shakes it, “See, this isn’t so bad! My name is Jaeyun, it’s nice to meet you,” he smiled. “Right… well you already know my name… b-but it’s y/n,” she quietly said. “Oh… and it’s nice to meet you too,” she whispered. “Well, now that introductions are out of the way, may I enter the room? Or would you prefer entering mine?” he asked. y/n is taken back on Jaeyun’s proposal as they have just met and he’s already asking her about entering rooms, she grabs the door once again and hides her body and half of her face in panic once again, “why are you asking about rooms… we just met,” she panicked.
When Jaeyun sees y/n become flustered once again, he realizes what he had just asked her and now he’s in pure panic because those are clearly not his intentions, he just wanted to sit down and talk to her. Jaeyun covers his face out of embarrassment and then rubs the back of his neck, “Sorry, that was expressed wrongly. What I mean is, should we sit somewhere and talk, or I’ll talk and you can listen until you’re comfortable talking to me,” he said. y/n steps away from the door and stares at Jaeyun and she notices his ears are slightly red because he’s embarrassed and she can’t help but shyly smile at him. She feels weird to have Jaeyun enter her room, but she knows she’s going to pass out if she enters his room, but she’s always wonder what his room is like, “we can… talk in your room… but let’s leave the door open,” she said while looking down on the floor. Jaeyun nods and opens his room door beside him, he walks in first as y/n slowly follows behind him. Once she enters his room she can’t help but have her eyes wander, there’s pictures of him and his bandmates, and pictures of him and other people you don’t really recognize. As she walks further into his room, she sees Jaeyun turn around and gestures to her to sit in his chair, while he sits on his bed. She nods and walks towards the chair and sits down, she takes another look around his room, it’s nice, clean, neat, and simple. With pictures around his room, his musical instrument by his desk, a computer setup assuming that’s where he works on his music. Overall everything his room suited him, and once she finishes looking around his room, she looks at Jaeyun and realizes he’s staring at her waiting for her to finish looking around. She covers her face with her hand because she feels embarrassed, “sorry, I didn’t mean to look around,” she said shyly. Jaeyun laughs and assures her, “It’s okay, feel free to look around more if you like,” he chuckled. y/n shakes her head while still covering her face, “I’m okay, this just feels surreal and weird to me that’s all. I’m sorry if I’m being awkward… I just never imagined this could happen,” she spoke quickly. “Hey, hey calm down. It’s okay! Take a deep breath. It’s understandable, but I’m here to tell you, I really am just like any other person. So please, there’s no need to be nervous, and there’s no need for special treatment. Just treat me like you normally would with any other person,” he said.
y/n slowly puts her hand down from her face and nods, she understands where Jaeyun is coming from, she feels really bad acting nervous around Jaeyun even though she can’t help it, but she understands that Jaeyun just wants to be treated normally and it’s probably because he doesn’t get that treatment often and he might miss it. So she tries to push her nervousness aside and tells herself she should try her best to make Jaeyun feel normal around her without any pressure or anything. “I’m sorry, I’ll try. To be honest I’m not the biggest socializer either, so I’m sorry if it’s hard to talk to me,” she said. “Don’t worry about it, we can just start off with the basics,” he smiled. y/n nods and smiles awkwardly causing Jaeyun’s heart to just slightly thump.
In this moment Jaeyun is hoping y/n doesn’t see how nervous he is, and is hoping she can’t feel his nervousness either, truth be told he’s actually losing is his mind over the fact that his destiny girl is currently in his room, sitting in his chair, looking around his room, his mind is actually shaking but he’s trying his best to remain calm in front of her, because if he doesn’t he’s afraid it’ll scare her away. “So what brings you and your father here?” Jaeyun asked. “Well my father wanted to meet your father… and asked me to accompany him…” she omitted. When Jaeyun asked her this question, she felt a tad bit embarrassed answering the question truthfully, I mean it’s not like she lied to Jaeyun, but there were some things he didn’t specifically need to know, and this case it was wanting to visit his hometown because of him, she didn’t want to make herself seem weird and obsessed, nor did she want him to be freaked out by it. “That makes sense, my father was rambling about how he was excited to see his friend, so I’m glad they’re able to reconnect,” Jaeyun smiled. “Me too. It’s been a while since I’ve seen my father this happy about something,” y/n said. “That makes me happy to hear! So, is there anything that you’re interested in seeing, or anything that you want to do? I could probably take you there,” Jaeyun asked. “Not particularly,” she lied. “Oh… well if there’s anything you want to see or check out let me know!” he said. “Are you sure? Aren’t you busy?” she asked. “Well, not really. Aside from having night practices, my schedule is pretty cleared up,” he said. “It’s okay, I don’t want to bother… besides I don’t think we should be seen together out in public…” she trailed off.
y/n doesn’t realize her words until she finishes her sentence, she panics and looks up to see Jaeyun’s face, and she could tell he was a tad bit hurt by her words. y/n starts to motion her hands back and forth to defend herself and apologizes, “I’m sorry, that was worded out wrong. I mean I just don’t want you to get into a scandal or anything, because you’re a star, and I’m just a girl, and you know there are fans out there who are kinda crazy, and I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings or offend you. It’s not like I don’t want to take you up on your offer or be around you, if anything it’s the opposite, and I just-” y/n rambled as she got cut off by Jaeyun’s chuckle. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh. You were just really cute,” he smiled. Jaeyun doesn’t register his words, it’s until he looks at y/n and her face is completely red, and she takes her hands to cover her face out of embarrassment. He panics and rubs the back of his neck and looks away to avoid eye contact from her, “Sorry, I mean the rambling was cute… sorry never mind,” he panicked. “It’s okay to be seen with me. I don’t really care. If you don’t feel comfortable, I can always wear a disguise to walk around with you,” he offered.
There’s a moment of silence after Jaeyun’s offer and it’s because y/n can’t really register the fact that Jaeyun called her cute. It’s not really registering to her the fact that the boy she highkey has a crush on called her cute and is offering to show her around Brisbane. If anything y/n is having a hard time wrapping her head around this entire situation. At this point y/n’s face is still covered by her hands to hide her super blushed cheeks, she still can’t bring herself to remove her hands away from her face, “Are you sure? I just don’t want you to get into trouble or any kinds of sorts,” she replied. “If I wasn’t sure. I wouldn’t be offering. Like I said, if it makes you uncomfortable, I’ll wear a disguise,” he reassured. She hesitates on his offer, only because she feels greedy for some reason, but she also feels shy, y/n’s not sure to accept his invitation just because she’s not sure how to still act around him, she’s not sure how to approach him without being so nervous either. “Sorry, if this makes you uncomfortable, I can just leave you alone…” he trailed off. When y/n hears Jaeyun’s comment, she puts her hands down and frowns a little, and it’s only because she feels sad for making Jaeyun feel this way. She looks at him and shakes her head, “I’m sorry, it’s not like that, I swear. I’m so sorry for making things hard. This is all new to me still, I know you told me to treat you like a normal person, and I really appreciate you trying to talk to me despite my awkwardness and shyness, but I’m so sorry. You just make me really nervous because I really like you and well your music has helped me alot and I just can’t believe anything, and I’m rambling again because I'm panicking and I just don’t know what to do. It’s not like I don’t want to take you up on your offer like I said before, I just-” she rambled once more.
When Jaeyun watches her ramble once more, he can’t help but think she’s really cute and it makes his heart melt because he just wants to hug her, but he knows that would probably break her and freak her out. He can’t help but smile, because it was really endearing watching her ramble and get all nervous around him. His heart raced when she confessed she liked him, but he knows that's probably not what she means, but it still made his heart flutter. He also just felt really honored and thankful knowing that his music has helped her through her hard times, it’s always reassuring knowing that his music can help others. When Jaeyun first started working on music, it use to be a hobby for him, but when he started investing more time into his hobby, it started to become more serious for him, and it made him realize that not only did he want to just play music, he wanted to create music, spread music. He wanted to create music that would inspire others to play music, or even create music themselves, but most importantly he wanted to create music that would help people, comfort people, and let it become a safe place for people. So when he heard y/n say those things to him, it really warmed his heart and made him smile, because it let him know at least there’s one person out there who finds comfort in his music.
“Breathe,” he laughed while covering his mouth, y/n stops rambling and takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, “I’m sorry,” she apologizes. “There’s no need to apologize, if anything I should be apologizing. I know it’s not everyday you meet someone famous, let alone meet someone that you like,” he nervously laughed while rubbing the back of his neck. “Truly, I’m really thankful and it means alot to me knowing my music has helped you. But I really meant it when I said I didn’t mind showing you around, I really do insist. Besides it’s the least I could do now, knowing my music has helped you,” he said. y/n nods slowly, “okay, if you don’t mind then,” she said quietly. “Great! So I'll ask again, is there anywhere in particular you’re interested in going, or seeing?” he asked. “I actually really like going to cafes… if you know any cute cafes, that would be nice,” she replied nervously. “I might know some! Is there anything else?” he said. “Not really, maybe you could show me some of your favorite spots?” she asked. “I can work with that,” he smiled.
y/n nods and a small smile appears on her face, although she’s really nervous, she also can’t help but feel happy and tingly inside. Maybe it’s because Jaeyun is standing in front of her smiling at her, maybe it’s because she gets to be around him despite her nervousness, maybe it’s because his cute comment is still stuck on her mind, or maybe because she really does have a crush on him and can’t help it, and maybe it’s because she’s really glad he hasn’t given up talking to her and is trying his hardest despite her shyness. Whatever it was, either way, she’s okay with this feeling.
“Thank you Jaeyun, thank you for not giving up on me, most people do, especially when it comes to talking,” she smiled shyly. “Don’t worry, I understand, thank you for also not giving up and trying your best,” he smiled. When he smiles at her once more, her heart flutters again, and there are butterflies in her stomach, y/n can’t help but look around his room again to avoid eye contact, because she knows if she makes contact she fears that she would lose her mind over his charming looks. Silence crept upon the both of them until Jaeyun’s phones ring, he gets up from his bed and walks towards his desk where y/n is sitting next to, he reaches for his phone and for a brief moment he’s really close to her, she quickly turns the other direction avoiding his body presence and holds her breath, he picks up his phone standing close to her as she looks away, “hey what’s up” he answered. “Yeah, I'll be there tonight, don’t worry I won’t be late,” Jaeyun laughed. When as y/n sits in the chair in silence and hears Jaeyun talking, she can’t help but have her eyes linger up towards him as he on the phone, and suddenly they make eye contact and she instantly panics and looks down at her thighs, “actually do you mind if I bring someone with me?” he asked. When y/n hears that her head immediately lifts up and she looks at Jaeyun and quietly points to herself as he looks at her and laughs while nodding. She shakes her head and covers her face out of embarrassment, “great, I’ll see you guys tonight!” he said and ended the call.
“You’ll thank me later,” he chuckled. y/n shakes her head in disbelief, she uncovers her face and she forgets how close she is to him until she makes eye contact with him and then looks away again, “sorry, could you give me some space,” she said quietly. Jaeyun doesn’t realize he’s in her personal bubble space until she makes the comment and he takes step back trying to create distance between them, it isn’t until he stumbles backwards which causes him to fall, when y/n hears his stumble she looks up and sees Jaeyun is about to fall backwards, she immediately reacts out of instinct and stands up trying to catch him. Unfortunately y/n remembers she’s not as strong as she thinks she is, which causes her to fall with him, she closes her eyes as she’s ready to brace herself, but Jaeyun panics and wraps his arms around her tightly, scared that she would get hurt. y/n immediately opens her eyes when she feels Jaeyun’s strong grip around her waist, and then before you know it she lands on top of him, while his back lands on his mattress. Their eyes meet and y/n’s face turns super red, as compared to Jaeyun who’s trying to keep his composure and stay calm as his heart is screaming and thumping, his eyes remain still locked onto y/n.
“Could you… could you please let go of my waist,” y/n stuttered. Jaeyun forgets that he’s still holding on to her waist and then he immediately releases his arms around her waist quickly. “I’m so sorry y/n. I panicked and didn’t realize…” Jaeyun said. y/n nods and pushes herself off of Jaeyun and stands up, Jaeyun follows and sits up from his bed and looks at her. “Sorry again… you should get some rest right. I’ll swing by your door when it’s time to go,” he said as he rubbed the back of his neck. y/n stares at the floor, “Are you sure you want me to go…” she asked shyly. “Yes, and before you say anything, it’s fine. The guys are fine with it,” he smiled. y/n looks at Jaeyun and nods slightly and then looks around in an attempt to avoid eye contact with Jaeyun, “If you say so… then I’ll leave and get some rest,” she said. Jaeyun nods and watches her walk towards the door, and once she reaches the door and opens it, y/n takes a deep breath and turns around and musters up the courage to face Jaeyun. She lifts her hand to wave goodbye and smiles shyly and quickly turns around and leaves. Before Jaeyun could wave back she’s gone and he can’t help but smile like a fool because of what she did, and he thought it was really cute and endearing.
When y/n walks out the door, she immediately zooms to her room and closes the door quietly and crashes out onto the bed. She stares at the ceiling and hears her own heart beat like crazy, she brings her hand to her chest to feel her heartbeat. y/n closes her eyes and starts to take deep breaths while trying to replay the recent events that just happened between her and Jake. After a couple more deep breaths and her own heart calming down she gets up and stares at the door briefly and sighs as if the energy of her has been sucked out of her. y/n then immediately falls back onto the bed and starts tossing and turning, “I must be out of my mind, I’m going to go crazy and I’m gonna crash out,” she thought to herself. y/n’s ears perk up when she hears a knock on the door, she gets up from the bed and stares at the door until she hears her father’s voice, “y/n are you awake? Can I come in?” he asked. “Yeah, come in!” she answers. When the door opens she sees her father entering and closes the door behind him. He gives her a smug look and she knows her father is about to tease her big time about Jake. “Don’t look at me like that, I know what you’re going to say and I don’t want to hear it,” she defended. Her father laughs and puts his hands up in surrender, “I didn’t say anything!” he replied. “Stop playing, I know you’re here to make fun of me,” she pouted. “Okay maybe just a little,” he laughed. “It’s not funny! Why didn’t you tell me your best friend's son was Jake!” y/n whined. “Honey, I didn’t know! I really didn’t know,” he replied. “Whatever,” she rolled her eyes. “So… I heard he’s taking you somewhere later tonight,” her father teased. y/n’s cheek turns red and she falls on her back and stares at the ceiling. “Yeah, I think he’s going to introduce me to the other members…” she trailed off. “Well isn’t that exciting!” her father exclaimed. “It’s nerve wracking, father. I mean I love them, but being close to music like that, it’s scary… I’ve only ever encountered their stuff digitally and from afar,” she hesitated. Her father looks at her and sighs and sits on the edge of the bed, y/n gets up and looks at her father, “I still feel guilty sometimes,” she sighed. “Oh honey, it’s not something you should feel guilty about. I know it’s hard, but none of that was ever your fault to begin with. Don’t be scared, being close like this was something that was once so important to you,” he reassured. y/n nods and pulls her knees up close to her body, her father looks at her and gives her a reassuring smile and ruffles her hair, “No matter what happens tonight, I know everything will be okay, and if not that’s okay too. Call me if anything happens,” he said. y/n nods again once more and gives her father a small smile, “Thank you,” she said. “Anything for my daughter,” he smiled. Her father takes a deep and gets up from the bed, “Well I’ll let you rest. Try to have fun later tonight,” he said. “I’ll try, thanks again,” she replied. y/n’s father smiles and gives her a thumbs up and walks out of the room closing the door. y/n stares at the door and sighs she decides to lay back down and close her eyes letting the sleepiness take her away.
After a couple hours passing by y/n wakes up and rubs her eyes, she pulls out her phone to check the time and realizes it’s already night time. It isn’t until a couple of seconds later she hears a knock from her door, she gets up from her bed and opens the door while rubbing her eyes and sees Jake standing there smiling widely. “Morning? Are you ready?” he asked. Without even registering what Jake had asked her she immediately shut the door in his face once again, but after closing the door it finally woke her up fully and her eyes widened, she had realized she slammed the door in front of him again, and she quickly panicked and opened the door again, “I have a feeling you like shutting doors on people,” he teased. “I’m so sorry, I forgot that well… you’re Jake… I mean Jaeyun,” she stuttered. “ I am indeed Jaeyun,” he chuckled. “Sorry, I'm still new to this,” she said. “It’s alright! I know it takes time… anyways, are you ready to go?” he asked. y/n hesitates to reply and asks Jaeyun once more out of reassurance to know if it’s really alright to go with him, “Are you sure you really want me there?” she quietly asked. “It’s no big deal y/n, besides, if I didn’t want you to be there, I wouldn’t have asked,” he answered. She nods again once more, “Alright, just give me a couple of minutes and I’ll be down in a bit,” she said. Jaeyun smiles and nods at her response, and proceeds to walk downstairs and wait for her.
When y/n walks downstairs she sees Jaeyun waiting by the door talking to his father, and she overhears their conversation, “Be safe, don’t do anything dangerous, and don’t overwhelm her,” his father said. “I won’t! I think she’ll have a great time, or that’s the goal!” he replied. y/n watches his father ruffle his hair as he grins, and then he looks up to see y/n by the staircase. He waves and smiles at her, and her heart makes another thump of the night, her hands become sweaty and she awkwardly waves back. y/n proceeds to walk further down and sees the both of them in clear view, “I’ll see the both of you later, and be safe you two! Most importantly, have fun!” his father said. Jaeyun laughs and opens the door and guides y/n to walk out first, she nods in response and walks out of the door, she turns to see Jaeyun by the door still as he smiles and waves off his father goodbye and shuts the door. After Jaeyun shuts the door he proceeds to walk first, “Just follow me, we’ll be walking because the place isn’t too far from here,” he said. y/n nodded and followed him from behind. As the both were walking, y/n couldn’t help but admire the night sky, she could see the stars shine brightly and she couldn’t help but smile, she took a deep breath of fresh air and let out the exhale.
When Jaeyun thinks about making conversation with her, he turns around to take a sneak peak at her and realizes she is smiling while looking at the sky, he can’t help but smile and admire her from afar. His heart races and he doesn’t want to jump to the conclusion of liking her, but he can’t help it. “Do you like looking at the sky?” he asks. She looks at him and smiles, “Yeah, it’s pretty calming and pretty. It’s really rare for me to take late night walks, I forgot how nice it was,” she answered. “Well, maybe get ready for more! If you like,” he smiled. y/n makes eye contact with Jaeyun and she’s thankful it's night time as she can feel the heat of her cheeks. “I would like that, thank you,” she smiled. When Jaeyun sees her smile at him for the first time while making eye contact, he immediately turns around and rubs the back of his neck becoming all flustered, “Well let’s keep walking, we’re almost there,” he said. When y/n sees him turn around quickly she tilts her head out of curiosity, she watches him walk further ahead and proceeds to follow him from behind and it isn’t until he stops and turns around again, “You should walk beside me, you know just for safety reasons,” he says. y/n nods and proceeds to walk faster catching up to him. With the two of them walking side by side, the quietness fills the air.
“We’re here,” Jaeyun said. When Jaeyun stops he faces his body towards the house, and y/n looks at him and then stares at the house in front of her. “Uhm, who’s house is this exactly?” she asked. “It’s Sunghoon’s,” he answered. “He’s throwing a small party,” he added. y/n starts to panic and her hands become all sweaty, she’s never been to a party, granted she didn’t have friends who like to party, and when her mother was around it’s not like she was allowed to go to parties either. When Jaeyun see’s y/n face turn pale he realizes that she’s panicking and is nervous, he stands in front of her locking eyes with her, “Hey look at me! It’s okay, everything is going to be okay. When I say small party, I mean it’s me and six other boys, and Sunghoon’s sister. If you feel too overwhelmed with being around us, you’re more than welcome to be around Sunghoon’s sister, or we can find a room for you to just calm down and relax,” he reassured. y/n slowly nods and looks away from him, she doesn’t seem to like the idea too much, but they have already walked this far, and she doesn’t want to feel like a burden to Jaeyun for trying. “Okay,” she whispers. When y/n replies, Jaeyun smiles, he turns around and proceeds to walk forward, and when he thinks she’s behind him following, Jaeyun turns around and sees she is still frozen in place, while looking at the house with hesitation.
When y/n watches Jaeyun walk forward, she feels stuck in place as if her legs are glued to the cement and she can’t lift them up. When she sees him turn around and look at her, she doesn’t care anymore, if anything she can’t be bothered and be focused on his stares, she’s still too busy letting the fear and nervousness get to her. It’s not until he runs towards her while smiling and grabs her hand leading the both of them to the door. When she realizes Jaeyun is holding on to her hand, her eyes widened, she thinks to let go, but in instinct she doesn’t and lets him hold her hand because somehow and in some way it was comforting to her. He locks eyes with y/n one last time and winks at her and smiles, “You’ll be okay, just stay by my side,” he said while opening the door. y/n’s heart races and she feels like her heart is beating out of her chest, she watches him open the door while following behind him as she is still holding on to his hand tightly afraid to let go.
When the two of them entered the house. Jaeyun greets the boys loudly by the door, alerting them that he’s arrived. As he greets, y/n starts to stare at the floor as she hears the footsteps heading towards them. When Jaeyun sees the boys in full view heading towards him, he turns around to look at y/n to make sure she’s okay and notices that she’s staring at the floor realizing she’s scared of making eye contact. Jaeyun takes a deep breath and whispers to her, “just hide behind me, I’ll do all the talking,” he said. y/n doesn’t bother to speak, she slowly nods and continues to stare at the floor while squeezing his hand tightly once more. When Jaeyun looks back, he sees his friends get closer, he positions his body making sure to cover y/n while still holding on to her hand, he clears his throats and waves to them.
Once the boys reached Jaeyun, they stopped and peeked over him, realizing there was a girl with him, he bites his lips out of nervousness. “I see you brought company,” Sunoo said. Jaeyun nods and smiles shyly towards the six boys who are standing in front of him. It’s not until he makes eye contact with both of his bandmates Sunghoon and Jongseong and they’re both smirking at him. Jaeyun rolls his eyes at them, “What’s with the eye rolling?” Heeseung asked. “Nothing,” Jaeyun replied quickly. “So are you going to introduce us to her or what?” Riki asked. When y/n hears the boys asking for introductions she feels her stomach drop and feels terrified, it’s not until she hears Jaeyun speak, “Slowly I will, for now let's just settle in,” Jaeyun replied. The six boys look at him and nod, and they walk towards the living room. When they walk away, Jaeyun turns around and looks at y/n, “they’re gone now, you can look up,” he said. y/n looks up and notices it just the both of them by the door again, she lets out a deep breath and sighs, “I’m sorry,” she whispered. Jaeyun shakes his head, “Don’t be, I know this is all new and a lot, but trust me everything will be okay. They’re really nice,” he reassured. y/n slowly nods at him and then looks down at her hand that is still currently holding on to his. Jaeyun realizes that they’re still holding hands, he doesn’t seem to mind it, but he’s not sure if y/n does so he asks her just in case, “Are you okay holding on to my hand, if not, we can let go,” he asked. y/n heart races, a part of her doesn’t want to let go as it feels nice to hold on to his hand but she can’t bring herself to say anything, and so she slowly nods her head and squeezes his hand to show him she’s okay holding his hand. He smiles and turns around and leads her to the living room.
When the two arrive in the living room, she sees five of the boys on the ground sitting as they’re staring at the TV screen while screaming at each other. She looks over at the TV and realizes they’re playing a game, she can’t help but let out a small quiet chuckle, when Jaeyun hears her small chuckle he smiles and leads her to the couch to sit on. When the two of them both sit down, her eyes start to wander around, and then she looks back at the boys who are sitting close to the TV. Jaeyun is the first to let go of her hand and she panics for a second, she looks at him and then he smiles and grabs her hand once more, “I’ll be back super quickly, let me get drinks for us,” he said. y/n nods and watches Jaeyun stand up and disappear from her sight as he leaves. y/n starts to take deep breaths quietly and closes her eyes, she’s hoping none of the boys notice her, but it’s not until she feels another person’s presence next to her. She immediately opens her eyes and sees a really cute boy smiling at her while immediately taking a seat next to her. “Hi, I’m Sunoo! It’s really nice to meet you!” he grinned. y/n nods and starts to stare at her hands in her lap, and starts to fiddle because she’s too nervous, “my name is y/n,” she said quietly. “Hey don’t be nervous, I swear I won't bite,” he said. y/n nods and slowly lifts her head up to look at Sunoo, he smiles at her brightly and she can’t help but think he’s really cute in an endearing way. “So how’d you meet Jaeyun?” he asked. “Our father’s are best friends,” she replied. “I see! How long have you known each other?” he asked. “Not long at all,” she answered. “Well he’s a pretty cool guy,” he chuckled. y/n nodded, “Yeah, he’s pretty cool,” she agreed. After the conversation y/n felt awkward sitting there watching the boys play games in front of the tv while Sunoo sitting next to her, it’s not until she sees Sunghoon and Jongseong getting up from the floor, and telling the remaining boys they’ll be right back.
When Jaeyun enters the kitchen he looks at the countertop that’s filled with snacks and drinks, he looks around and grabs a plate and starts putting snacks on the plate. It’s not until he hears a subtle cough and looks up to see both Sunghoon and Jongseong leaning against the kitchen door. Jaeyun makes eye contact with the both of them and rolls his eyes, because he knows what they’re going to say. “Before you start clowning on me, I know,” Jaeyun said. “So she’s your father's best friend's daughter?” Sunghoon smirked. “Don’t you think that's too much of a coincidence? One could even call it fate?” Jongseong laughed. Jaeyun rolls his eyes and grabs popcorn and starts throwing at the both of them as the both of them start to snicker, “Very funny you guys. I was just as shocked as you are when I found out,” Jaeyun said. “I would be too, the girl I was crushing on months ago suddenly appears in front of me and just so happens to be staying at my house for a brief moment, that’s pretty crazy if I say so myself,” Sunghoon shrugged. “Oh and by the way! We’re also not blind, we saw you guys holding hands earlier,” Jongseong smirked. “It’s not like that,” Jaeyun deeply sighed. “Care to explain then?” both of them asked. “She’s just nervous, and I was just trying to calm her down… she’s not good around crowds,” he shrugged. “Right, or did you just want to hold her hand because you’re madly in love with her,” Sunghoon said. “I’m not in love with her, I just really like her, and by the way no it’s not like that. She’s nervous around all of us, not to mention she really likes our band so she’s trying really hard not to freak out about it,” Jaeyun defended. “Oh! She’s a big fan of ours? Who’s her favorite member then?” Jongseong asked. Jaeyun's ears started to turn slightly red, “I don’t know,” he lied. “You’re lying, we see your ears turning red. We know you’re her favorite,” Jongseong said. “That’s not the point! Let’s just forget about it. Oh, and please don’t overwhelm her, she's not the biggest talker,” Jaeyun said. “Whatever you say,” Sunghoon shrugged. “One more question, are you going to shoot your shot this time?” Jongseong asked. There’s a bit of silence and it’s because of Jaeyun thinking deeply about Jongseong’s question, “I don’t know. What if she doesn’t like me,” he shrugged. “Well, what makes you say that?” Sunghoon asked. “What if she just likes me as Jake from EN-O2z and well not me. Not the real me, Sim Jaeyun,” he answered. “Well wouldn’t this be your chance to show her you’re not just Jake from EN-O2z?” Jongseong said. “It could be, but I don’t know. I don’t want to scare her off. She’s already having a hard time just being here around me and everyone else,” Jaeyun said. “Well you won’t know unless you try,” Sunghoon said. “Hoon’s right. Just give it a shot, who knows man, maybe in the end it really could’ve been fate for the both of you guys,” Jongseong said. Jaeyun stood there for a brief moment and nodded at both of his bandmates' response, “We’ll see, for now we’re just friends,” Jaeyun said. “Right, well if you don’t act on something maybe I will,” Sunghoon jokes. “In your dreams, I will end you,” Jaeyun deadpanned. “It was a joke, relax,” Sunghoon laughed. “Whatever,” he rolled his eyes. Jongseong laughs when he watches Jaeyun’s reaction and pushes Sunghoon out of the kitchen door, “Give him a break,” Jongseong chuckled. Jaeyun watches both of the boys leave and he shakes his head and smiles.
As time passes y/n starts to feel like time is ticking too slow as she’s on edge waiting for Jaeyun to return. She starts debating on whether she should walk and leave the living room or hold off for a couple more minutes to see if he will return. When y/n sees Sunghoon and Jongseong return from the kitchen she looks over to see if Jaeyun is behind them but he’s still out of sight. When the two bandmates notice her stare, Sunghoon nudges Jongseong and whispers into his ear, he nods and makes eye contact with y/n, “He’s coming, he’s making a plate of snacks for you,” Jongseong smiled. y/n looks away and nods. “Jaeyun hurry up! She’s waiting for you,” Sunghoon yelled. y/n panics when she hears Sunghoon yell and she starts rubbing her hands out of nervousness, and when she slowly lifts her head up she sees the remaining boys who were sitting on the floor game paused, heads turned around staring at her. It’s not until Sunoo breaks the silence, “turn around and focus on the game, stop staring at her, you’re making it worse for her!’ Sunoo defended. “But we just want to get to know her,” Riki said. “Yeah and you can later when Jaeyun is around but for now look the other way please,” Sunoo said. The other boys nodded while Riki pouted as he also turned around. y/n chuckled quietly when she saw Riki pout, she didn’t think he had a cute baby side to him as her first impression of him she thought he was really intimidating. “Sorry, that’s our youngest out of the group, he may act like he’s nonchalant but he’s really just a baby,” Sunoo said. “Hey! just because my head is turned around doesn’t mean I can’t hear you,” Riki said. “Yeah yeah whatever,” Sunoo laughed as he rolled his eyes.
y/n lets out another quiet laugh and makes a small comment, “you’re dynamic is funny,” she said. Sunoo laughs when he hears her response, it’s not until Jaeyun comes back and enters the living room again holding a plate of snacks and drinks in his hand, he sees Sunoo sitting next to y/n and starts walking over. When Sunoo sees Jaeyun walk over he starts to stand up, “Well it’s my cue to leave, I’ll talk to you later,” he smiled. y/n nods and watches Sunoo walk towards Jaeyun, “Took you long enough,” Sunoo whispers into Jaeyun’s ears. “Thanks,” he said. When Jaeyun sees y/n sitting there, he walks over and sits next to her again and hands her the plate of snacks, “Sorry that took so long, I really didn’t know what you would like so I tried to grab everything,” he said. She smiles, “It’s okay, thank you though,” she said. “So how was talking to Sunoo?” Jaeyun asked. “We didn’t really talk much, but he seems very nice and cute,” she answers. Jaeyun's heart drops a little but he ignores the feelings in his chest, “Cute you say?” he asks while raising his eyebrows, “Not like that, cute in an endearing way,” she smiled. “Well he does have that charm I guess,” Jaeyun shrugs, y/n quietly laughs as she watches Jaeyun take a sip of his drink, “Are you feeling less nervous now?” he asks. y/n slowly nods her head, “slowly but surely. Sorry,” she says. “Don’t apologize, I understand it takes time,” he smiles. “But they all seem very nice though,” y/n commented. y/n thinks about making a comment about Riki and for a brief second she feels hesitant but decides to say it anyways, “I didn’t know Riki was the youngest, he seems really intimidating at first, until I saw him pout and bicker with Sunoo just now,” she said. Jaeyun chuckles, “Yeah, he’s actually our baby,” Jaeyun jokes. “Again, I can hear you,” Riki said. “Yeah we get it, you’re trying to be nonchalant,” Sunoo commented. “I am nonchalant!” Riki argued. “Don’t mind them, they tend to bicker a lot, but it’s really funny,” Jaeyun said. y/n nods and starts eating the snacks off her plate that Jaeyun picked out for her.
After a couple more rounds of gaming, as Jaeyun and y/n were sitting next to each other watching them play, the boys decided to take a break from the games. They turned off the tv and turned around and started to talk about the highlights from their games and such, y/n starts to tense up again as if she feels soon the boys are going to try to talk to her. Jaeyun notices her hands clenched tightly and feels her body tense up, he grabs her hand again and holds on to it and smiles at her, and whispers in her ears, “It’s okay,” he said. y/n takes a deep breath and stares at Jaeyun holding her hand and nods slowly while forming a small smile on her face. The boys aren’t oblivious nor blind, they can all see and notice the both of them holding hands, but none of them make a comment, some of them smirk and others choose to look away and continue their own small conversation. It’s not until Sunoo claps his hand and speaks up, “I think we should introduce ourselves, not all of us have introduced ourselves to her yet,” he smiles. All of the boys looked at each other and nodded, “I’ll start, Hello! I’m Jungwon,” he smiled. “I’m Heeseung the oldest,” he waved. “Jongseong,” he raised his hand, “Sunghoon,” he bowed. “Riki, the youngest,” he said. y/n nods, she feels something stuck in her throat as she feels required to also introduce herself, she closes her eyes for a quick second and takes a deep breath, she feels Jaeyun squeeze her hand and smiles at her which gives her a small boost of reassurance, she looks up at all the boys staring at her and introduces herself very quietly, “I’m y/n,” she mumbled. The boys nodded and they all waved to her and smiled, “Hi y/n, it’s nice to meet you,” Jungwon greeted. “How do you know Jaeyun?” Riki blurted out. Sunoo smacks the back of his head while Heeseung nudges him, “Ow!” he complained. “Where are your manners,” Sunoo rolls his eyes. “What do you mean, I’m just curious!” Riki replies. Jaeyun clears his throat and answers for her, “Her father is my father’s best friend, and they’re here visiting. I offered to show her around that’s all,” Jaeyun replied. “See! It wasn’t a hard question to answer,” Riki rolled his eyes. The boys laugh at Riki and y/n lets out a small laugh as well, she starts to feel less tense as she realizes being around the boys isn’t as bad as she thought, “Wait, so does she know you’re in a band Jaeyun?” Heeseung asked. Both Jongseong and Sunghoon smirk, “Yeah she knows about EN-O2z,” he replies. “Interesting,” Riki grins. The boys look over to Riki’s response and Heeseung takes the initiative to nudge him, while Sunoo whispers into his ears, “Read the room dumbass, don’t ask the stupid question,” Sunoo quietly said.
When y/n hears Riki’s response, she brushes off his tone and tries not to think much of it, but in reality she’s hoping Riki doesn’t ask her something embarrassing, and luckily he doesn’t after Sunoo quietly scolds him. As minutes pass by the boys are talking amongst themselves and y/n sits there listening in on their conversations, but she doesn’t mind, if anything it's what she prefers. From time to time Jaeyun will squeeze her hand and she’ll squeeze back but everytime he would squeeze her hand a small smile would form upon her face. As she sat there watching Sunoo and Riki bicker, she couldn’t help but let out a small quiet giggle. Jaeyun who heard her small quiet giggle looked over and also let out a small laugh, “How are you doing?” he asked. “Your friends are really funny,” she whispered. “They are,” he smiled. “Thank you for bringing me here,” she said. “It’s my pleasure,” he said.
More time passed and the boys decided it was time to wrap it up and head home, but before leaving, the boys decided to help Sunghoon clean the place up first. “You can sit here and wait for me, I’m just going to help clean up and then we can head on out,” Jaeyun said. “No, it’s okay. Let me help,” y/n offered. “It’s fine y/n,” Jaeyun said. “Too bad, I want to help,” she said. Jaeyun laughed and surrendered, “Okay, well I guess you can help tidy up the living room, I’m going to help the others clean up the kitchen,” he said. y/n nodded and watched Jaeyun let go of her hand and watched him leave to the kitchen. y/n took a deep breath and stood up from the couch and started to tidy up the living room until she heard a boy clear his throat, she turned around and realize it was Sunghoon standing still while looking at her, “You know, you don’t really need to help clean up,” he said. “I’m a guest in this house… it’s the least I could do,” she mumbled. “Yeah but you’re Jaeyun’s guest, he should be the one cleaning up, not you,” he chuckled. “He is cleaning! I offered to help,” she said. “Well, you don’t have too,” he smiled. “It’s okay, I really don’t mind… besides it also helps calm me down,” she said. “That’s weird, but I guess,” he shrugged. “Well then I guess I’m weird,” she smiled. “Trust me, it’s not a bad thing,” he said. “I would hope not,” she said. “So… how are things with you and Jaeyun?” he asked. y/n stopped cleaning and her heart dropped, “Jaeyun and I?” she asked nervously. “Sorry, did that come off too strong to ask?” he questioned. y/n stayed silent and didn’t respond, she didn’t know how to respond, “nevermind… forget I asked. Sorry if that made you uncomfortable, that wasn’t my intention,” he said. All y/n could do was nod and then continued to help tidy things up.
After y/n’s conversation with Sunghoon the room became pure silent, until Jaeyun walked in and saw the two of them cleaning up the living room, “Hey hoon! Kitchen’s clean. I think y/n and I are going to head out now,” Jaeyun said. Sunghoon nodded and gave him a thumbs up. When y/n heard Jaeyun’s voice her ears perked up, she looked over seeing the two boys talk for a brief moment and then saw him heading over towards her, “ready to leave?” he asked. “Yeah,” she nodded. “Okay, let’s go,” he smiled. She nodded and followed him from behind, as they walked towards the door, all of the six boys gathered near the door and waved to say goodbye, “bye y/n! It was nice meeting you,” Sunoo smiled. y/n smiled, “It was nice meeting all of you, thanks for having me,” she bowed. The six boys nodded and smiled and waved goodbye as well as saying their farewells to Jaeyun.
When Jaeyun and y/n left the house they walked side by side next to each other, the walk was silent, and in no time y/n stared up into the sky again while walking, Jaeyun looked beside him and noticed her staring up at the sky again admiring the stars, “do you always look up at the sky while walking,” he chuckled. “Not always, I just really like looking at the stars,” she smiled. “How come?” he asked. “They make me wonder about the endless things,” she shrugged. “You know there’s this saying that people are like stars,”. Jaeyun paused on his walking and watched y/n continue to walk, “what do you mean by that?” he asked. “It’s a poem I read back then, ‘The stars that shine so brightly, however day by day, their light begins to dimmer. People are like stars, we are alive each day, and as day by day passes, we are also slowly dying…’” she trailed off, “but when the stars shine so bright, it also means humans are shining so brightly, and I think that’s what’s most important,” y/n said as she turned around and smiled at Jaeyun. When Jaeyun heard her speak and watched her turn around and smile at him he was in awe, and maybe it was because of the stars shining so brightly onto her, or mayhaps the moon bringing light on to her causing him to become moonstruck by her. Either way she was shining, glowing even and he couldn’t help but slowly fall in love with her more. “You’re shining brightly,” he said. y/n eyes widened and she immediately turned around trying to hide her flushed cheeks. “Says the star himself, literally,” she mumbled. y/n continued to walk but at a faster pace and Jaeyun could tell she was flustered, he quietly chuckled and proceeded to walk faster in order to match her pace, “Hey! Wait for me! There’s another place I wanted to show you before we head home,” he said. “What?” she asked. “Come on,” he said as he grabbed her hand and the both of them started running together.
With both of them out of breath, Jaeyun lets go of her hand to catch his breath, Jaeyun takes her to a pond that was close to his home, “A pond?” she asked. “It’s my childhood pond,” he smiled. y/n nodded and looked around the area, and spotted an empty bench by the water. Without even thinking she started to walk towards the bench while Jaeyun followed behind her. She sat down first and then he proceeded to sit down next to her. Jaeyun who looked at the water and y/n who looked up at the sky, two of them looking at two different things in silence. The silence was comforting, y/n who took a deep breath and closed her eyes, and Jaeyun who took quick glances at her while smiling, “So what’s so great about this pond,” she asked. “I don’t know it just brings me a lot of comfort, on my hardest days, or when I feel lost, or when I just need to take a step back from everything, it’s just helped me alot, and I figured maybe you would like being here as well,” he said. “It’s nice here,” she nodded. “I would hope so,” he smiled. She let out a small laugh, “I like it here, anything with the sky and water, you can never go wrong with it,” she said. For a brief moment y/n forgets that Jaeyun is Jake from EN-O2z, but that doesn’t bother her, because right now in this moment she feels comfortable being around him now, “So do you play music?” Jaeyun asked. When Jaeyun asks y/n that question, her breathing stops and her heart races, she’s caught off guard from his question and the memories suddenly rush to her head, she stays silent and her body starts to tense up. Jaeyun, who is now quick to notice her actions, lays his hand on top of hers and she looks at him and he looks back, “You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to,” he reassured. y/n breaks eye contact with him and starts staring at the water, “I… I used too…” she quietly said. Jaeyun nods and there’s silence, he’s too scared to ask for more and so he sits there and waits to see if she’ll say more. When y/n answers his question she sits in silence as well, she thinks about whether to speak more about it or let the situation go, but there was something about being around Jaeyun that made her feel safe and secure to speak more about it.
y/n who takes a deep breath and looks at the stars again to help her calm down, she makes the decision to talk about it, “When my mother died, I vowed to quit and never play again,” she said. Jaeyun’s ears perked up when he heard the word ‘died’ he looks at her with his hand still laying on top of her and grabs it tightly, y/n looks over at her hand being held by his and she gives a sad smile, “We got into an argument about music, she was really against the idea of my future being all about music. We argued, she got angry and slapped me across the face, it was the first time she had ever done that. I left the house crying, immediately going to my father’s but she beat me to it. She tried to drag me back home but I refused. I ended up falling, hurting my wrist pretty badly… and then I said pretty hurtful things to her in the heat of the moment, and before you know it, her last words to me was, ‘I hope you never touch that guitar again,’ and then she went in her car…” y/n voice started to become shaky, she couldn’t finish her sentence. Jaeyun who watched her eyes become watery, who heard her voice become more and more shaky, he felt the urge to pull her into a hug and hug her tightly, and so that’s what he does. He pulls her into a warm tight hug, wrapping his arms around her, while y/n lets out a quiet sob and slowly wraps her arms around Jaeyun. She’s hesitant at first to hug him tightly but as the memory of her mother dying in front of her appears in her head she can’t be bothered, she hugs him tightly and starts to sob loudly and uncontrollably. “Don’t finish the sentence if you’re not ready, you don’t owe me any more explanations, it’s okay, just let it all out,” he said. She doesn’t respond, but instead she lets all of her tears out, and everytime he hears her loud sobs and her sniffles, his heart cracks and aches as he feels bad. He feels helpless in a way but all he knows is that hugging her and being there for her is what she needs.
After a while, y/n starts to calm down, her tears stop falling, her sniffles are gone, and the both of them sit there arms wrapped around each other. y/n is the first one to let go of the hug and when she does she looks at Jaeyun while giving him a faint smile. When Jaeyun sees her puffy red eyes his heart cracks even more, he wipes her tears away, “I’m sorry,” she said while looking down. When Jaeyun sees her head down he doesn’t hesitate to cup her face, “There is no need to apologize, I really can’t imagine what you went through, but it’s not something you should be apologizing for,” he reassured. y/n eyes start to tear up again and Jaeyun instantly wipes her tears away. “You should never apologize for your feelings, you’re valid to feel how you feel,” he said. y/n slowly nods and she brings her hands to his hands that cup her face, “Thank you Jaeyun,” she said. “Of course,” he smiled. With a quick awkward silence the two of them decided to awkwardly reposition themselves and both stare at the water again, “when she went in her car, she backed out of the lot and a car ended up crashing into hers… she died right after,” y/n said. “I’m so sorry,” he said. “You shouldn’t be the one apologizing. I’m the one who’s trauma dumping right now,” she quietly laughed. “But still, it must’ve been hard for you…” he trailed off. “It was, and it still is… when she said those hurtful things to me and died right after, I took it as a sign I should never play again… and so do I vowed to never play,” she said. “But don’t you miss it?” he asked. “I do, I miss it alot, but it’s hard for me. There’s just still a lot of guilt in me,” she said. “But it wasn’t your fault,” he said. “My father says the same thing, but I can’t help but still blame myself,” she shrugged. “He’s not wrong y/n. Listen, I don’t know you mother, and I don’t exactly know everything about you, but her death, that’s not something you should be blaming yourself for. I know you said some things in the heat of the moment that you didn’t mean, but I think your mother also felt the same way as well. She probably didn’t mean what she meant for what we know,” he said. “But you don’t know that…” she quietly said. “But do you? You’re jumping to a conclusion that wasn’t clarified,” he said. “But she’s not there to clarify it, she’s dead Jaeyun. I said hurtful things to her that I can’t take back at all, what am I suppose to do,” she argued. “You’re right she’s dead, but she can’t also take back what she said either right? Just like you, what if she was thinking the same thing as you when she entered her car and tried leaving,” he defended. “So what am I suppose to do?” she asked. “You let go, you have to let go of that guilt, and the blame on yourself. The more you blame yourself, the more guilt you’ll feel, and you’ll never be free from it, and I know I’m saying it as if it’s easy, but I know it’s not, but we have to start somewhere,” he said. “I just want to stop feeling this way,” she said as tears started to form. y/n wiped her tears away and started to look at the sky, when Jaeyun looked over he reached for her hand and held it tightly, “You will, and you can. I’ll be there for you… if you let me,” he reassured. She locks eyes with him and wipes her tears that slowly fall out, and nods, “Thank you, but only if you want to,” she said.

Like any other typical day of school, I had arrived home exhausted. Classes were kicking my butt and being surrounded by professors who didn’t care about anything but themselves was the pure motivation of why should I bother to try in school… but then again I knew better to have this attitude. After a rough day of school Aerai and I decided to go home together and chill at my place. We plopped down on the couch letting our bodies soak into the cushion and engulf us as we were both burnt out from school.
“I’m home,” I greeted. “I'm here too!” Aerai responded. “Hey, welcome home squirt,” my brother greeted. I immediately sat up and turned around and gave him a weird look. It was always rare to see my brother come home, just because he had his own place. “You’re home? Why are you here?” I joked. “Can’t your brother come home and see his little sister?” he joked. “I just wanted to come and visit. By the way there’s mail for you, I didn’t realize you were popular at school” he smirked. I gave him a weird look and questioned what he was talking about because I knew I usually never get mail, and if it was for me, it was typically just advertisements for something. “What are you talking about, I’m like the definition of anti-social,” I responded. “Yeah? Well you got 8 letters from the mail, and they don’t look like advertisements,” he shrugged.
Aerai got up from the couch and turned around as well and greeted my brother and then looked at me and grinned. “Damn, I didn’t realize you were popular like that. How was I unaware? I’m like your best friend,” Aerai joked. I rolled my eyes and slightly pushed her jokingly, “Real funny Aerai. We all know I’m not a social butterfly aside from talking to you, and the seven other boys and two of them don’t even attend our school,” I rolled my eyes. “Well, I think you should open these letters because I’m not going to lie, I kinda opened them and they look like confession letters,” your brother said. “Hey! Talk about invasion of privacy!” I exclaimed and darted my eyes at my brother, he chuckled and put his hands up for surrender and shrugged. “Can’t help it, I was curious,” he defended..
My best friend nudged me and smirked when my brother mentioned the confession letter. I looked at her and could tell she was ready to clown me for this one. “You’re telling me my best friend got 8 confession letters?” Aerai laughed. “You’re joking right. Who on earth would like me?” I answered. “I don’t know? You tell me. I moved out, so how would I know,” My brother replied as he walked over and handed me the letters.
I looked at them with a blank face, and there were many questions swarming in my head. Who could possibly like me? Why would they like me? What is there to like about me? I sat there staring at the letters as I felt two of the people stare at me waiting for the anticipation. Aerai, who was impatient, nudged me, “Well open them!” she said. “What if this is just a prank and someone's just fucking with me?” I said nervously. “Hey come on, have some confidence in yourself, if I was a dude I would like you,” Aerai winked.
“You’re my best friend that doesn’t count, and that doesn’t help either, but that was sweet of you to say. I would like you too,” I laughed. “Well open them,” my brother said impatiently. “Hey! You already read it! Don’t rush me… besides what did it say? Did they leave their names in the letter?” I questioned. “Well… actually It’s typed, and completely anonymous. I actually don’t know, but you should read them,” he said.
I looked at him confusingly and frowned as that information didn’t help but left me confused. I tried to brush off the feeling and proceeded to open the letters one by one reading them.

Dear (y/n),
At one point I’ve liked you for a while, you were always there for me, and was always cheering me on by the sidelines or anything really. I mean who wouldn’t like you? You’ve always given all your efforts and that’s what I love about you, but as time passed I gave up because I would rather keep this friendship than ruin it, but it's okay because you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

Dear (y/n),
I mean ever since we were kids I’ve always liked you, I mean you spoke with confidence and always stood up to anyone which I really admired. You are someone I cherish very much. Your goofy smiles, and your awkward greetings, everything about you was perfect to me. I wish you could understand how much I like you because it’s a really intense feeling, and maybe one day I would hope you could return the same feelings or potentially feel the same way about how I feel about you?

Dear (y/n),
I’ve seen you around before and there’s no doubt you’ve caught my attention, and I wanted to get to know you better and I did! And it’s no surprise but I ended up falling in love with you, but I will say I’m not the only one. You caught my heart which I don’t mind, but someone else deserves you more than I do.

Dear (y/n),
When I first saw you in class, I thought you were cute, and then when you became a stuttering mess, I thought it was adorable, but when I got to know you more? I learned that there’s more to you than this shy awkward girl. I learned that you’re so caring and sweet, and with that I couldn’t help but like you as I got to be around you more and more, but at last I knew you would never like me, but it’s okay. I like what we have now, and it’s better this way anyways.

Dear (y/n),
It’s no surprise that I fell for you, I mean you were always around me and the boys. I didn’t mind if you liked me or not, I didn’t think we would end up dating anyways. It would also kinda be a sin if we dated. But even then I couldn’t help but like you, but as time passed and all the pro’s and con’s appeared. I knew it would never work out for us, and trust me, it’s not you, I’m just being realistic, besides there’s someone else out there who is majorly in love with you more than I am.

Dear (y/n),
You know you’re more deceiving than you look, if I’m being honest you’re like the first person that I’ve fallen for, because honestly girls don’t really catch my attention, unlike you… you’ve caught my attention and maybe it’s the way you talk? Or maybe it’s because we spend a lot of time together. I’m not sure. You’ve always expressed your feelings and problems to me, and to be honest… I think you’re so brave and strong, and because of that I just wanted you to feel loved, but I realized as time passed maybe the way I look at you should stay as a friendship instead of a relationship, because I’m too scared to lose you, so for now I’ll say I like you, and hopefully later I can say you were just my first love.

Dear (y/n),
I guess you could say like any other guy in these sappy letters it’s to confess that I’ve liked you, but that doesn’t change our friendship now. I care about having you in my life more than ruining it because of these feelings I hold for you. I think when time passes I’ll be over you, but for now I’ll enjoy adoring your cute smile and laughs, because when you’re happy, it makes me happy and that’s all I could ever ask for.
November 16th 2024
From kids to now… I’ve liked you for many years and still now… I hope that’s not weird? I just really wished you knew how much you mean to me. We’ve known each other for a long time and so.. I hope you would get my hints, but then again you’re kinda dense… But I still hope I'm not the only one who feels this way. I like you and I hope one day you feel the same way and maybe be mine?
After finishing reading the letters one by one, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. My jaw dropped and I could feel Aerai’s aura next to me as she was also panicking and freaking out about the letters as well. “Wait, all of these letters are dated differently,” Aerai mentioned. “Yeah, but at least the letters are organized by date and year, but it really doesn't help that there’s no NAME TO ANY OF THEM! There’s 8 total but I only talk to like seven boys, which means all of the boys liked me at some point...” I trailed off. “Wait, what if they’re from the same person?” Aerai asked. “I don’t think so, each letter is different,” I answered. “Then I think at least two of them are from the same person. Read the newest letter, the November 16th 2024 one. It seems like one of them still likes you, and I think that’s a legit confession letter” Aerai said. “Well, it really could be anyone, how am I going to solve this? There are eight letters and seven boys and two letters are from the same person,” I complained. “Well at least we know that all the boys liked you, we just have to do a process of elimination by analyzing the letter,” Aerai said. “That’s doing the most, but I don’t see any other way to solve this,” I frowned.
As Aera and I were bickering back and forth about how to go about this situation, I had totally forgot my brother was still in the room watching us, he then laughed at us and tried to make a joke about the situation. I looked at him and rolled my eyes and threw a couch pillow at him. “I mean you could straight up gather all of them together and shove the letters in their face and ask them who wrote what,” he joked. “Very funny,” I rolled my eyes. Aerai snickered and covered her mouth and I looked at her and she looked away and put her head down trying to avoid eye contact, “I mean, he’s not wrong,” Aerai said under her breath.
I scoffed and looked at the two of them in disbelief, “Yeah, you really think if I just shove the letter in their faces, they’re going to admit they wrote these letters? Like hell they would!” I exclaimed. “Yeah, I wouldn’t admit anything,” my brother said. “My point being said, so now what,” I crossed my hands and pouted. “Well then let’s start your oldest friendship from the guys you’ve been friends with,” Aerai suggested. “So Kim Sunoo, the childhood best friend,”

a/n: im sorry for the day... i've been super busy and just trying to get my life together (its not going so well so yeah...)
I’ve known Sunoo ever since we were kids, so I guess maybe it can rule out at least one of the letters but still? My childhood best friend liking me? I mean it’s like a typical cliche but still… but it was still a shocker to me. So out of these eight letters, you’re telling me one of them is written by Sunoo, my childhood best friend.
Sunoo and I have been through everything together, we have shared and created so many memories together, from our first time trying ice cream to our first time underestimating high school. He’s seen me at my worst and at my best, but I've also seen him at his worst and best. We’ve seen each other's weaknesses and strongest perks, but after all that’s what makes us best friends. But I’ve never once thought of him that way, and I’ve never exactly developed romantic feelings for him either. So now that I’m aware of his feelings, I essentially feel bad for never being able to return his feelings, or ever consider those romantic feelings.
“So Kim Sunoo… isn’t he like your childhood best friend?” Aerai questioned. “You know, it’s no surprise if he liked you, I mean it's a typical cliche,” my brother noted. “Yeah perhaps, but the real question is, does he still like me?” I wondered. “I mean if he did, how would you feel about it?” Aerai asked. “Well, I don’t know. I mean I’ve never looked at him that way, nor have I ever developed romantic feelings for him, but even thinking about him like that, it’s a bit weird to me,” I answered.
After answering Aerai’s question, I started to think more about Sunoo and how things would change if we did date, or if I developed romantic feelings for him, and well after briefly thinking about the situation, it still seemed weird to me, and I don’t know how I would feel about the transition of a best friend to a boyfriend, but maybe I’m also scared of jeopardizing our friendship if we ever did cross that line. But he wasn’t the only one that liked me, so either way things would still be complicated as ever.
“Yeah, I don’t think you don’t like him, because if you’re saying it’s weird and you’ve never thought about it, there’s probably no feelings,” Aerai said. “Okay, well let’s try to figure out which letter he wrote,” I said. “And if we do, how will we confirm it’s him?” Aerai asked. “Well, there’s only one way and that’s asking him, or maybe trying to make moves on him and see,” my brother answered. “First off, no. I’m not gonna make moves on my best friend because that’s weird, and what if he doesn’t even like me anymore… Majority of these confessions seem like past tense and they’re dated kinda far back,” I replied.
After finishing replying to my brother's comment, I looked at him and he shrugged in his defense and put his hands up as a surrender not wanting to add fuel to the fire. “It’s a suggestion, you didn’t need to take it personally,” my brother said. “Well okay, let’s take a look at the letters,” Aerai said. “Well maybe it could be May 23rd 2021, it mentions the word “kids” so maybe it could be Sunoo?” I questioned. “Well what about the one that's dated in 2020? I feel like maybe the older the year is, maybe it could be him?” Aerai replied. “You make a fair point, and I thought about it, but that letter says ‘sidelines’, so I’m wondering if maybe that one could be Heeseung? I mean like, I’m always cheering for Heeseung on the sidelines when he’s playing basketball? So that could be it?” I wondered. “But that doesn’t make any sense, didn’t you meet Heeseung in like 2022” Aerai asked. “Shit you’re right, that’s also roughly the time I met the other guys as well,” I replied.
Honestly there were so many things I needed to consider about these letters, but my brain had no capacity to understand and comprehend these letters as these dates were throwing me off. It didn’t help that my memory isn’t the best either. I felt like every time I kept reading these letters I ended up being more confused and lost.
“Well, I definitely don’t think it’s one of the most recent dated letters…“ Aerai trailed off. “Yeah, I agree. I don’t think the recently dated letters would be Sunoo’s,” I replied. “Okay, so then let's just assume it’s either the oldest dated letter, or the letter that mentions ‘kids’,” Aerai said. “Well one of them says they would rather stay friends, and then the other one is expecting me to feel the same way,” I said.
After making that comment, the thought didn’t occur to me that maybe potentially one of the boys could still like me, and I would need to face that later on. It doesn’t help that I’m no good at responding to people's feelings either. “Wait, do you by any chance like someone at the moment?” My brother asked. My face turned red when the thought of Heeseung appeared in my mind, and then I immediately brushed it off. “No, it’s not like that really,” I quietly said. “You’re lying, you’re just like me! Your ears get red when you get embarrassed or shy,” My brother laughed. “Wait, you’re telling me this whole time you liked someone and you didn’t even tell me?” Aerai frowned. “It’s not that big of a deal, don’t worry about it,” I replied. “Well then, if it’s not a big deal then tell me who it is,” Aerai smirked as she crossed her arms. “It’s Hee..Heeseung,” I stuttered. “I knew it! You’re always going to his basketball games, I thought it was because of Jongseong or Riki, but no, it’s because of Heeseung,” Aerai smiled. “Shut up,” I blushed. “Poor Yunnie, you always dragged him to these basketball games even though he would much rather stay at home and build legos” Aerai snickered. “What? He was always eager to come with me though,” I said. “Yeah, and it’s probably because he gets to spend more time with you,” My brother snickered.
My best friend and brother weren’t wrong, but the thought never occurred to me that Jaeyun would want to only come just to spend time with me. I sincerely thought he wanted to go these games because he wanted too and support his friends, but after receiving the confession letters and coming to the conclusion all of them liked me at one point, it would make sense why Jaeyun would come with me to these basketball games and give up some nights to build legos just to accompany me on the bleachers to support the team.
“That’s not the point, we’re here to identify which letter Sunoo wrote!” I exclaimed. “Well we have a movie night hangout tonight at Sunoo’s. Maybe you should head over there early and talk to him privately,” Aerai suggested. I groaned and put my hands on my cheek in distress, “Ugh, what am I suppose to say? Uhm hey which letter did you write?”I panicked. “You can, or you can snoop around his room and try to find something. The letters seemed typed out, so obviously there’s probably a written letter or diary!” Aerai said. “So invasion of privacy…” I whispered. “Okay, let’s not do that. If I was a guy, I wouldn't like it if my crush was snooping around my room to find my confession letter. Just be bold and ask him, but don’t expect him to be honest with you,” My brother said. I darted my eyes at my brother and heavily sighed, he looked at me and shrugged. I rolled my eyes at him. “Did anyone ever tell you how unhelpful you are?” I commented. “Yeah.. you’re not really helping your sister right now. Well, I have to head home and get ready for the movie night. You should head over there early and maybe talk to Sunoo about it,” Aerai suggested. “I could… and I know I should. I just don’t know how to bring it up still,” I sighed.
Aerai got up from the couch and put her hand on my shoulder and then patted it as an attempt to give me reassurance of the whole situation. She gave me a warm smile and then waved off and left the house. I slumped back onto the couch in defeat, frowning at the situation. My brother looked at me and then decided to plop down next to me. “So Heeseung huh,” he said as he nudged my shoulder. “Don’t even, that's the least of my concerns right now. I don’t even care if Heeseung likes me back, or used to like me. It’s not going to happen,” I replied. “Since when did you even start liking him,” he asked. “Since the day we met, I mean have you looked at him… he’s just so cute, but when he steps onto the court he’s like the coolest guy ever,” I said. “So you’re telling me you’ve only liked Heeseung out of everyone from that group?” he questioned..
For a moment, I sat there wondering if I should confess to my brother about my feelings and thoughts about the boys. Besides Lee Heeseung, there was also another guy I had feelings for, Sim Jaeyun, the next door neighbor. At one point I really did like him, I liked him for quite a while, but I told myself to give up on liking him just because I never thought he would feel the same way. He seemed like the type who wasn’t interested in dating or relationships. He never mentioned having crushes or liking anyone, he always minded his own business focusing on school, and building legos, but to know in the end he did like me, I couldn’t help but think how things would’ve turned out if we knew we both liked each other at one point and maybe confess.
“Well… I mean Jaeyun… But I don’t anymore. I gave up years ago, it seems like he was never interested in love and such,” I trailed off. “Oh, so you liked the golden retriever boy,” my brother said. “I mean not anymore, he’s cute and adorable when he builds he’s super focused on building his legos, and he’s always been there for me, but there’s no way he feels the same way about me now. I think one of the letters from him is probably the letter that he wishes to just be friends,” I shrugged. “And what if it’s not? What will you do?” he asked. “I don’t know, re-think about it?” I replied. “So just Heeseung and Jaeyun?” he hummed. “I mean liking Sunghoon would be weird, that’s like your best friend, and that would just kinda be a sin in my book and maybe in your book, liking Jongseong is no question asked because that's your roommate, and Jungwon and Riki are like my bro’s. I can’t look at them like that, and well Sunoo.. we’re just best friends and I would like to keep it like that,” I answered. “I mean I don’t mind Sunghoon liking you, it’s his life. I shouldn’t stop him from liking someone and stop him from how he feels, like it or not, emotions are hard to deal with, and forcing someone not to like someone isn’t right either,” he replies. “Well it doesn’t matter. I still think it’s weird. Besides, Sunghoon is such a huge flirt, I could never, we’re like total opposites,” I shrugged. “Hey, you never know, opposites attract sometimes,” he joked.
I looked at my brother and rolled my eyes at him, I proceeded to get up and drag myself off the couch and walk towards my room and plopped down onto my bed. I pulled out the letters again and decided to re-read them again, and after re-reading them multiple times, I threw the letters aside and screamed into my pillow with frustration. It’s not like I was expecting any of them to like me to be honest, because literally why would anyone like me? I’m a hot mess, but that’s just me.
After screaming and laying in bed staring off into space looking at my ceiling, I looked at the time and realized it was almost time to head over to Sunoo’s house for movie night. I braced myself and decided it was time to get ready, as I slipped on a pair of sweats and a hoodie, I grabbed the letters and shoved them into my bag and left the house and headed over to Sunoo’s house.
It didn't take long to head over to Sunoo’s house. I knocked on his door and he opened it and smiled at me and gave me a hug. There was a part of me that felt weirded out hugging him, just because of those confession letters I read, but I tried to brush it off and proceeded to hug him back. As he let me in, he greeted me and told me to head upstairs first as he still needed to finish some things up.
I nodded and headed over into his room, as I walked towards his bed and sat down, I took a look around his room and couldn’t help but let Aerai’s suggestion get to me. Should I look around or is this an invasion of privacy? But at this point curiosity got the better of me and I decided to snoop around his desk looking for papers or anything that could be letter related.
Eventually after a couple minutes of rummaging, I got distracted and didn’t realize Sunoo had entered his room. I felt my body freeze as I could feel him staring at me, I was caught red-handed. “What are you doing?” Sunoo asked. “Nothing, I just thought your desk needed some cleaning, jeez Sunoo. Keep your desk clean,” I lied. “My desk is clean, what were you doing snooping around?” he asked. “I can explain?” I answered in surrender. “I’m not mad, it just seems unlike you,” he said.
My hands were shaking, it was nice to know that Sunoo wasn’t mad that I had just lied to him while snooping around his room. My mind went blank and I didn’t know how to respond to him. There were two options, it was either to tell the truth or continue to lie to him, but with barely time to think and the extended awkward silence forming, I shut my eyes and trusted my gut, and blurted out everything from the top of my head.
“Sunoo, did you ever like me? I got home today. These eight confession letters were handed to me from my brother and they’re all dated differently and I don’t know… One of these letters seemed like it was written from you but then again I don’t know, because I only talk to you and the other boys, so then it makes sense, but then again who would like me I don’t know what I'm saying. I just, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to snoop around I just really wanted to confirm it, and I didn’t know how and I wasn’t going to ask you because I was scared you were going to lie but now that my mind is blank, and I’m out here babbling like a complete mess, I feel like I just messed things up,” I ranted. “Okay, first of all, breathe, and calm down, I’m not mad. Please one thing at a time, because you literally talked so fast that I lost track of what you said,” Sunoo replied. I hesitated for a second, but there was no point going back because if I asked once already, I might as well ask again and repeat myself. “Did you ever write a confession letter to me?” I asked. “...What makes you say that?” he answered. “Because of this,” I replied as I pulled out the letters out of my bag.
Sunoo took the letters out of my hand and read the letters and his eyes widened as his face and ears turned super red and then he looked at me. “Where did you find this?” he asked. “My brother told me it was mailed to me?” I answered. “Who on earth would mail this to you?” he said. “I don’t know! But that’s not the point right now. Did you or did you not like me, and did you write one of these letters,” I asked. “Okay fine. At one point I did like you, but that was years ago! I don’t like you anymore, and yes I did write a confession letter, but this was suppose to be a secret. It was never meant to be leaked or anything. I don’t know who the hell leaked my letter, but I don’t like you like that anymore. I look at you as my best friend, and I hope you’re not weirded out or have feelings for me because I’m sorry..” he panicked. “Which one did you write…?” I trailed off. “I wrote the October 13th 2020,” he confessed. “I’m sorry I never noticed your feelings Sunoo,” I apologized. “Please don’t be. It was a long time ago, and besides I’m over it and it was for the best anyways. Like the letter said, I'd rather keep this friendship than lose you,” he smiled. “I know but still. I feel like I still hurt you in some way,” I said. “It’s really okay y/n,” Sunoo smiled.
I was really thankful to know that Sunoo didn’t have feelings for me anymore, because now that was one less thing to worry about. I still felt bad that he did like me years ago, but I’m glad that he’s over it. “It’s a relief you’re over me, because I don’t know what I would’ve done if you weren’t,” I said. “Well that’s a relief then? Glad we’re on the same page,” he said. “So… Do you know by chance who wrote the other letters?” I asked. “It’s true that all of us liked you at one point, and we did keep it a secret, but we never showed each other our confession letters. So I’m not sure which letter belongs to who,” he answered. “And here I thought you could help me,” I frowned. “As much as I want to help, It’s not my job to reveal their feelings. This is something you’re going to have to solve on your own, as much as I love you, I can’t intervene in this because it’s not my feelings. I mean you figured out mine, but you should give the others a chance to speak like you’re doing with me,” he defended. “But I’m scared. There’s someone out there right now who still likes me currently, and I’m scared. What if I don’t like them back? What if it’s someone I hoped it would be, but isn’t?” I sighed. “I know, but whatever happens, it’s meant to happen. Just know that we all care about you,” Sunoo comforted. “Can I get a hint at least?” I asked. “Fine, someone who has the letter N in their name is still in love with you,” he answered. “Kim Sunoo, that is the most useless hint ever. All of their names have N, aside from Riki! But he even goes by Ni-Ki sometimes!” I whined. “Well you eliminated me! You asked for a hint, and I gave you one,” he laughed. “This is why I favor Aerai over you,” I joked. “How dare you, and here I thought I was being nice,” he gasped. “Yeah whatever,” I scoffed. “The utter disrespect,” he laughed.
A part of me was really curious in wanting to ask why Sunoo liked me, I mean it’s obvious that I lacked self-confidence considering the fact I just don’t understand who could like me, but after receiving confession letters, it definitely sparked my curiosity. “Quick question though.. Why did you like me? I mean it says in the letter but still?” I asked. “I mean listen, I liked you because you were always so forward about things, I mean yes, you were a bit strong headed and stubborn, and sometimes annoying and shy but it’s cute and that’s what I liked about you. I think you’re different from the other girls in a way, you’re very unique,” he answered honestly.
After hearing Sunoo’s answer, I could feel my face turn sour, it was so weird to hear that come out of his mouth. I knew he was being honest with his feelings with me, but I don’t know, for some reason it just didn’t sound right to me. “I kinda just gagged, hearing my best friend talk about me and admiring me. That was kinda disgusting. Why did I even ask?” I joked. “You’re absolutely such a dork,” he rolled his eyes. “Yeah well you liked this dork at one point,” I retorted. “Yeah, not anymore because you’re such a prick,” he laughed. “Insults? Okay keep it coming, we’ll see who gets the last laugh,” I smiled.
With that conversation out of the way, I felt relieved knowing Sunoo didn’t feel the same way anymore, but there was still an unheavy feeling because there were still seven letters to figure out with basically no clues. Which meant I still had no idea where to start, and Sunoo’s hint didn’t exactly help me either and so I was stuck at a dead end. I guess the next person I could go to is Sim Jaeyun, he’s the second longest person I’ve known, but the thought of confronting him about these letters was a bit scary considering at one point I did like him, but there was no going back after receiving these letters, I had to face it.

synops; it’s not like she didn’t love music, but maybe she loved music a little too much and happens to yap about it every so often. EN-O2Z is her favorite band and who she listens to almost everyday as her remedy, her scapegoat. Not to mention there’s a certain member who catches her attention! So what happens when her father asks her to accompany him to his Brisbane trip to see his best friend, and your father’s best friend has a son?
summary; It’s y/n summer vacation, and her father asks her to accompany him to his Brisbane trip to see his best friend, your father mentions that his best friend has a son name Jaeyun, but you don’t think much of it and agree on this trip because you don’t want your father to be alone.

a/n; this is the first scenario I have written in like uh years.. maybe its a special peace after reaching 100!!! not proof read btw.
As her father sits in the car in excitement, silently squealing because he’s about to see his long time best friend who he hasn’t seen in years, he sits next to her all giddy and she looks at him and chuckles. y/n hasn’t seen her father happy in so long and so it warms her heart when she sees her father get all happy and excited, it sort of reminds her how she gets when she gets to see EN-O2Z, or when she listens to them full blast into her ears.
Y/N vaguely remembers her father mentioning his best friend had a son, but she doesn’t put much thought about it, nor does she care because it’s not part of her interest in mingling and meeting new people. She’s introverted, shy, and minds her business, and it doesn’t make her anti-social because once you get to her she becomes a yapper and yap yap yaps about anything and everything but she’s only capable of making that happen if she’s comfortable.
She thinks her father mentioned the son only because he didn’t want her to feel lonely on this trip, but to her she doesn’t mind. It’s her summer vacation, she has nothing to lose and besides she’s always wanted to go to australia and travel, not to mention it’s one of the EN-O2Z members hometown and she was curious what his homeland is like.
Once the car pulls up to the given address, y/n watches her father immediately get out of the car excitedly and he sees his best friend and runs over to give him a hug and greets him. She laughs at him and thanks the taxi driver for dropping them off and proceeds to take the luggage out of the car. As she pushes the luggages towards the door, she comes closer to her dad’s best friend and greets him and bows, he smiles at her and pulls her in for a hug and greets her.
“y/n right? It’s so nice to finally meet you! Your father talks a lot about you, but in a good way! I’m so glad you could make it on this trip and accompany your dad. Although, I hope you don’t mind us spending time together to catch up,” he says. “It’s no problem, feel free to take him. He’s been literally too excited about this trip. His name is Jaeyun and he’s currently in his room doing something but you’ll both soon meet,” he says.
y/n nods and enters the door with the luggage, she first grabs her luggage first and starts carrying up the staircase and as she starts carrying it up the staircase, your dad’s best friend makes one last comment, “Oh, if you ever need a tour around the city or anything feel free to let me know and I’ll ask Jaeyun to show you around, or feel free to ask yourself!” he mentions. She nods and gives him a thumbs up and proceeds to walk up towards the room. A
When she finally makes it up the staircase, she looks around the house and it seems very neatly organized and clean, she walks towards the hallways and finds a room that has a door slightly opened, she assumes it could potentially be her room and so she walks towards closer to the room, and as she walks closer to the room, she notices another room across from her, there’s loud music coming from that door and you recognize that music from anywhere.
It’s EN-O2Z, she mildly starts freaking out and starts getting excited herself, because she absolutely loved meeting people who liked listening to him, but for now y/n tries to contain her excitement and walks towards the slightly opened door room. y/n opens the door fully and takes a look around the room and she admires how cute and cozy the room looked, as she walks towards the bed with her luggage she leaves it near the bed stand and plops on the bed for a moment wanting a bit of rest.
She hops off from the bed and walks out of the door, and when she walks out of the door she notices the room door across from her is about to open. y/n doesn’t think much about it and continues to walk but the moment when the door opened at full force, she could help but feel startled.
