Death and the Miser (1494) by Bosch, the painting shows the miser’s final moments as he’s given a choice between a bag of gold and a crucifix that an angel points at, death is dressed in white robes and a demon is waiting for the miser’s death, the miser is naked and all forms of worldly power (helmet, sword and a shield) are thrown away, a younger healthier version of the man is seen hiding his gold. It’s uncertain whether or not the miser will choose salvation or not.
