tw sexual assault under the cut
the sentencing was today. the amount of years was a joke. the system has failed all of the victims, not just myself. i look at his circumstances and think “i’m from the same background and struggles, but i don’t hurt people to this degree”.
we had such high hopes for the judge to dish out a harsher punishment. but four years. that’s it. that’s barely the total amount of years for my charges alone. there were three victims.
i don’t even know if he’s going to be put on the sex offender registry. he sexually assaulted three of us. his first victim suffered worse injuries than me. i have a scar on my face from his actions.
the best and most i can do now is push back against an appeal for parole in two years. i don’t live in the area he’ll likely be released to anymore, but what even is the point.
i’m gonna take some time to decompress. probably gonna be logged out of tumblr until i feel up to anything. maybe i’ll have some nice pictures of the mountain my mum wants to take me to so i can cool off a bit.
