Jack meeting Rung is more eventful then you think. He’s stressed. Vince has been a jerk, he got accused of academic dishonesty, Miko is being more reckless then usual, he’s in danger of losing his job cause of health violations ( he knew there was something wrong with the chicken, no one listened ) and he is not okay. He takes one look at Rung, who greets him cheerfully and politely, and snaps. His bag hits the ground, he storms up to the human area, turns on the tv and glares. Not even watching tv, no he’s just pissed. After a bit of coaxing on Rung’s and Op’s part, he launches into an hour long rant on why he’s so stressed. At the end, he’s exhausted but satisfied and Rung gives him advise on managing stress. Jack decides he likes the new guy
Miko does not like the new guy. Yeah, he’s nice but he seems to see past all of her antics She doesn’t like it, he reminds her of the nanny she had as a kid, and she misses that woman. A lot. So she gets worse. She does not want Rung to care, cause no. She cannot handle that. But any attempt she makes to keep him away, fail. She’s openly hostile, rude, reckless and loud. It chased off a string of nannies and babysitters, it’ll scare him off, right? Wrong. Rung’s dealt with Whirl, who strangled him once. Any hostilities she shows, he meets with patience and sympathy, which pisses her off more. It takes a disappointed phone call from her parents to send her to his office, tears in her eyes because she’s terrified Bulkhead was mad at her for being mean to the new guy, who everyone loved. Rung comforts her and finds out that not only does she have issues with her self esteem and shit parents, but she had a traumatic experience with a therapists who prescribed medication that made her severely depressed (but docile, like her parents wanted). Rung is angered at this therapist cause bitch, how dare he?!? Miko practically adopts Rung afterwards, legitimately getting into fights for his honor. (Rung is glad Whirl has yet to go planet-side and highly stressed for when he does. He’s going to need a drink. Or ten)
Rung adopts Raf and he and Ratchet become the parents that hacker boi deserves. He also (anonymously) send passive aggressive emails to his parents, asking them where their son is at that exact moment in time and implying they don’t know. Ratchet’s at his side, sending aggressive emails as well. Rung tells raf stories about Cybertron and teaches him Old Cybertronian. Miko deadass refers to him as “Rafs robo-mom” and Rung is pleased. he and Ratchet co-parent and shower him with love and affection, something they feel honored to do. Also, ratchet will tell rung stories about various things Raf has done, like any proud parents. And on mothers day ( and fathers day0 Raf gives them little homemade card with a blush on his face. ) Whirl is on earth by then, and is holding Miko as she snaps 500 photos. Later, Whirl asks Rung if he’s the godfather. This leads to Ratchet’s and Rung’s first real argument and eventually they agree Whirl can be the godfather if OP is the godmother. Cue next family reunion and the kitchens on fire as Whirl cackles and Ratchet is angrily berating Raf’s mom for not vaccinating Raf.
-I head-canon that all the tfp kids have their own issues. Like miko prbly had no love as a little kid, cause my bff act the exact same way and legit could not speak English as a little kid because the nanny her parents hired spoke Portuguese. Also, Rafs family never shows up in the show, implying the don’t exist or don’t give a fuck. Nothing in the show implies he’s an orphan, so I’m going with the later. Jack definitely has PTSD after Arachnid. Hell ,they all do. especially after the bullshit with the Omega Lock
RUNG IS THE BEST THING THAT’S EVER HAPPENED TO THE TFP-VERSE AND HE’S WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS.
