I like the look of this, but I know that rival rp's can be notorious for ooc drama too :(

Very true Nonnie. We won’t deny it, as it has been of mutual experience for us. However in my own personal experience it has been because the bond between the admin and the members just didn’t have the right balance. Either the player didn’t feel as though they could speak up because it seemed minor, or the admin’s didn’t intervene when they perhaps should have. This is most definitely not the case for all, just a few of the one’s we’ve been in. We will work our upmost hardest to make every single one of our members comfortable, enough that they can speak to us about absolutely anything if they so wish.

The reason we decided to invest in a rivalry plot was simply this: Our plot provides the option of automatic friendship-families, a divide for characters daily lives to play off, and the option of angsty plots if the players would like. We’ve seen that this can be really good springboard for character development, it puts characters in testing positions they might have never been in otherwise. 

It can bring grit, adrenaline but most of all it can be the foundation for the most loyal of rp groups. Although there is a divide, that does not mean that every single character must be involved in the ‘battle’. 

I really hope I covered our point. We care so much about everyone in the community, and we truly value players health before the sake of rp.
