keep in mind I won't be able to follow people back on here. That is what my main blog is for.
Where I attempt to introduce yall to my ocs and their universe. The story is called Resetting and it's about a group of outcasts who befriend each other, and have to face some of the past problems that led to their current situations or try to move forward and create new problems for themselves.
Feel free to ask me any questions about them ! They are all appropriately tagged and I have a toyhouse page for additional information :-)

a general introduction to the storyline and some of the key players can be found under the cut
RESETTING tells the story of an aspiring "host" making her way to the shiny civilization of Evelow, where she can get answers about how the world works. They are the center of advancements, right ? After all, this is the city that introduced genetic engineering and has a religion based around the founders of the city for they were the pioneers of protection against the toxic planet.
However, she learns that this city has little tolerance towards accepting the outside world, and would rather destroy it than embrace it. Will this newcomer be able to change their minds ? Or will she be their biggest enemy ?
RESETTING follows this journey, along with her new friends who have their own demons with Evelow for their own various reasons.
Audrey is the "new girl in town" who is partially to blame for the downfall of her old village of Dile. She hopes she can better herself by starting new, but it turns out "bettering" herself could possibly lead to actually making herself worse.
Advik is a clone of one of Evelow's most renowned scientists and councilmen, and now that that person's gone, Advik has had a lot on their plate ! They might have fucked up their prestigious position, because now Advik is stuck in the east village away from all their old problems. They have no intention in going back.
katsumi, kat for short, is a former socialite that had made too many promises to the wrong people and has found herself shunned from her old society. Kat is ready to accept her past mistakes and make new friends, because just because the last relationships couldn't have been trusted doesn't mean new ones can't !
Zack is another former child of the council, who's "downfall" has been due to a tragedy and some family tension. He finds the situation fitting for him, as it's the most interesting thing that's happened to him yet.
Avery is one of Evelow's orphans who always felt she was dealt a bad hand and resented the world for it. That didn't stop her from overachieving, and if her mistakes cause harm to other people, she promises to make up for it, but never apologize.
Morgan is another newcomer, or perhaps a revisitor. After getting a trial run as a wasteland pirate, Morgan returns to her hometown with some brand new baggage, both figuratively and literally (don't look into her mystery cooler, there's nothing in there.)
Sean is the biggest example of Evelow's advancements, as he is a genetically engineered human being with all the qualities of a natural human and more ! However, while he's all organic, what does this mean for Sean ? Will being put on this high pedestal affect his ego or placement in the world. We'll see !
Aurora is the darling of Evelow, representing a new generation of councilmen and being a promising leader for the citizens of the city. However, her strive for power has led her to sacrifice a lot, and maybe it'll lead her to lose the charm that once made her so adored.
Glossary
Defund - the name given to former "Evelonian Elite" who have had found themselves at the bottom of the class system due to varying reasons.
The Ellocast Project - a secret project kept hidden from Evelow, the goal was to be able to create humans purely organically but with the genes to be immune to the dangers of the outside world. The answer to "how will the members of Evelow be able to live beyond their lands ?"
While the first trial was only created to see if it could be done, future trials were done to give humans advancements, including greater strength and agility. There are a total of three trials with two subjects each.
Hosting - the act of manipulating an element or some form of natural substance to your will. It's very rare and is even forbidden in Evelow, but to do it requires a lot of exposure to said substance and some sacrifice, as many who attempt it lose their lives or their humanity.
Oc fun fact of the hour: advik has already been very accident prone since he was a little kid, and had the casts and splints to show for it. However, one time when Aurora accused him of faking everything for attention and even started a bit of a rumor that it was all fake, it made Advik not as vocal about his injuries, and this sort of carried over into adulthood where Advik doesn’t really address his injuries or illnesses for that matter.
From all the things passed down from all the apples coming before
From Natalie’s fate leading to Audrey’s curiosity which leads to Jean’s origin. It’s almost as if the sentient mold literally molded itself right into this family wink wink
I ended up combining the prompts into one picture !
🖐️ - draw your OC’s hand or hands. What’s distinctive about them?
I'd say the most distinctive thing is kat's tattoos on her hands (despite not being a heavily tattooed person all around)
Do i forget to draw them most of the time ? yes. But be assured, kat has permanent tattoos, it's just my fault as an artist for not consistently drawing them lol
🦺 - character’s work uniform or work outfit. If they don’t work, reinterpret or take 🎭
Katsumi works at a clothing boutique and there's no real dress code, she's just encouraged to dress trendy, and while Kat isn't the most cultural trendy person, she does love fashion and being experimental in her fashion, so she's in uniform enough.
🎭 - character study (happy) and character study (sad), presented together.
the tough truth to swallow: the projects see themselves as "above" everyone else: they were conditioned to.
being raised in a lab (and half of them living in there until adulthood) they were taught that they were the hope for humanity against the wasteland and their genetically engineered designs made them better by default. Of course this didn't stop them from being terribly sheltered and their unethical treatments, but it was a bizarre upbringing in all sorts of ways.
I'd say the only one who doesn't feel this way is lilith, who hates herself so much that she couldn't possibly see herself as better than others. Still hates other people too though.
But I think this is why Adam nor Seth couldn't truly accept Morgan the way they wanted to be included in their weird codependent dynamic.
Like Seth definitely enjoyed Morgan a lot, but at the end of the day Morgan was expendable. Think Omni man referring to his wife as a pet but in a less gut punching way.
I don't think Adam nor Seth are like "we are better because of the project" it's just subconscious that their upbringing brought them closer together and the hatred they had for the humans ("naturals") that created them kind of seeps into everyone else. whoops.
celeste, on the hand, is a romantic and loves everyone but is giving steven universe rose quartz in the way that she unknowingly patronizes her love for people sometimes.
She does come around and evolve her view as she actually interacts with more people and realizes the project was broken.
Sean and Trinity have a little more intention behind their superiority complexes, but while Trinity (who isn't a public figure and is a rogue person) will brag about it to people she's trying to intimidate, Sean keeps his opinions to himself.
Echo is one of the people who help teach Sean this (though it was more of the older scientists including Echo's original Dr. Cloud that do the conditioning) and with Echo believing this too, it's why a relationship like Aurora's and Sean's peeves them.*
Like sure if the Ellocast project in its current state (aka only six alive subjects with only two in custody) was to continue it's legacy it was inevitable for the projects to procreate with naturals, but the original intention was to continue research and make enough for only projects needing to procreate with each other. (To everyone's disgust, Sean and Trinity were intended to be a pair by the project. Sheesh....)
So Echo does consider romantic/sexual relationships between naturals and the projects to just be too weird for them. Some of the population of Evelow also share this opinion, given the ethics of lab grown humans and whatever that entails, but it's not that popular a opinion.
* Aurora doesn't know Sean thinks of himself as "better" than all of humanity. She knows he has a bit of a superiority complex, she can feel that radiate off him, but she doesn't know about what he was taught. If she did, she probably wouldn't have tried to date him. As much as Aurora has a "I can fix him" mentality, she'd never intentionally date someone who thought they were better than her.
Fun fact but not so fun fact: Kat isn’t the hugest fan of children. She doesn’t hate them or anything, she just never really spent a lot of time with them and has been okay with that. She doesn’t want any herself or have any desire to be a caretaker, and I hope that doesn’t come up in her future 🙃
I had an idea to draw some pictures inspired by songs from the brat album (idc if I’m late, I was in art block hell when that album came out so now’s my turn !) and maybe if i get around to doing more of my ideas (i have like five or six more I wanna do) I’ll compile the set but for now here’s hopeless romantic Celeste loving the city of Evelow
“I’ve waited for the day to see my maker’s face once again, even in this wretched new form of his !”
“Uh, do I know you ??”
Lilith meets Advik 2.0, aka the clone of the scientist who created her. And given her upbringing, you can’t blame her for not having fond memories, even if the familiarity doesn’t come from the true source.
