Alexys was, in short, wandering. In long, she was looking for two things. One, more doors to add to her list - she was on a mission to count every single door (or room, she wasnāt picky) in the facility - and two, to find at least one more sign of life in this place.
Oh, there was a hallway sheād never thought to go down. Why was there music blaring?
Waaaait a minute! Music! Someone was playing music!
Alexys makes her way towards the source of the music. āHello?? Hellooooo??? Anybody?ā
- @resident-techie
[What Alexys hears next is shuffling, then a loud thud, followed by muffled discontent, the blaring music being turned off and, finally, the door opening.]
[A young blond man peeks out of the room. His face is smudged with what looks to be ink, and his glasses balance on the very tip of his nose as if they slid down without him even noticing. The man looks around and, once his gaze settles on Alexys, smiles excitedly.]
"Oh! Hello, darling. Sorry for the loud music, I didn't suppose that anybody would be wandering the halls at this hour.. I haven't seen you around here before, have I? Are you new?"
[Alexys blinks at him, surprised to see that this is a real, actual human being and not just another drone or hallucination figment of her imagination.]
āYouāre alright, Iām always wandering. I um. Iām not exactly new, Iām just not really needed. Iām Alexys, My dad- Iām one of the techies.ā
[Alexys wanted to mention how one of her dads was a techie, but then she realized her dads may not. exist. so. She straightens, holding a hand out for this dude to shake.]
āYou are?ā
[Artie nods and then fully steps out of his room. He shakes her hand firmly, grinning.]
"You may call me Artie! Artie the Artist. It's funny how my role aligned with my name, isn't it? I'm the writer and designer of most of the shows on here, I write the scripts, make designs, sometimes help out with other things here and there. It's lovely to meet the one who has to deal with my insane ideas on a day-to-day basis."
[He chuckles and retracts his hand.]
"Oh, since you're not doing anything, would you like to hang out in my room? I always work better when I have somebody to bounce ideas off of. You don't have to, of course! It's just an offer."
[Artie stepped to the side, letting Alexys see into his room, which seemed to double as his office. It was.. very bright, that's for sure, with a ton of different decorations. Notes and drawings spread all over the walls, and, partially, the floor. There was an office table, a chair, a bed, a bean bag, and a giant plushie of a porcupine with the body of an alpaca. Like, 3 meters tall.]
āAh, so youāre the guy. Iāve heard about you fromā¦others in the past. And Iād love to come in. Itās so refreshing to see a face that isnāt a robot.ā
[Alexys walks in, taking in all the bright colors and the drawings, making sure not to step on the ones on the floor.]
āShowfall gave you a room? Thatās cool. I like your decorations.ā [Alexys smiles, petting the porcupine.] āThis guy is cute too. He got a name?ā
[Artie followed suit and closed the door behind himself, but didn't lock it. Never locks it. As Alexys looked around, he just sort of stalled in the entrance. Ugh, he should really keep his room in better shape, just in case somebody does stumble in.. Artie's gaze trailed downwards, to his own hands, and he blinked in alarm, seeing the rolled-up sleeve and small notes, scribbled on his forearm. He quickly tugged his sleeve down, playing it off as just fixing his appearance. Nothing suspicious here!]
"Are you referring to the drones? Hmm- I don't think that they're robots, necessarily? At least they don't feel like machines when I talked to them.. Oh well, that's besides the point."
[The Artist shrugged and finally stepped forward himself, settling down on the edge of his spinny office chair.]
"Mhm! All artists, creative directors and whatnot need an office, don't they? Plus a place to sleep is pretty vital. And thank you! Most of it was actually gifted by the a- by the viewers."
[He grinned at Alexys mentioning the giant toy. God, he loved this creature and whoever gifted it so much, it's a little absurd just how much happiness just having it in his space gave him, really.]
"Ah yes, the creature! The one who gifted it to me called it 'the porcupaca', and I just stuck with that. But.. I suppose that's more of a name of its kind, than its own name.. Why, do you have any ideas?"
āPorcupaca sounds like a fusion for a porcupine and an alpaca. I donāt have any good names, though. Iām not very good at names.ā [Alexys continues to look around the room.]
āItās veryā¦uh. maximalist in here. You must be good at keeping yourself busy, huh. Since youāre pretty much out of a job.ā [She remarks.]
