"That’s good because I love that bakery and the last thing I need is for it to become awkward." Alli chuckled and frowned. "What do you mean we’re coming back to pack? Where are we-" She dropped her jaw and laughed slightly in disbelief. "What did you do, Axel Jones?"

Her cover was busted and Axel knew it. She sighed in forfeit, licking the chocolate off of her fingers before speaking. "I knew if I'd brought the idea up with you, you would've shot it down. But I kind of booked us in for a bed and breakfast holiday." She pursed her lips closed, not wanting to say anything else, but Alli's gaze ruined her. "In Hawaii."

Alli giggled and sat at the breakfast bar, her croissant in front of her and grabbing the glass Axel just poured for her. “What did she say? Was she shocked or jealous?” She mumbled after biting into her croissant, slightly moaning at the taste.

She took a seat next to the brunette and grinned. "Oh yeah she was jealous. She tried to hide it but that girl is obviously a terrible liar." Axel chuckled and dug into her food. "I didn't tell her it was me though, because I figured that would've made her lying even worse. She wished you and your 'honey' well though." Axel rolled her eyes at the thought. "So after this, we're going into town. That's where your appointment is. And after that," She took a sip of her drink before continuing. "We're coming back here to pack."

Alli just finished up with her hair when she heard Axel arrive. She slipped on her flats before making her way down the hall and into the kitchen, where Axel greeted her with a hug. “Morning.” She mumbled into her neck, pecking her lips lightly before pulling away. “Yeah I wasn’t going to eat. Wasn’t really hungry… But those smell nice.” Alli eyed the paper bag before Axel gave her a nod. She opened it up and grinned, glancing up at her girlfriend. “Chocolate croissants from the cafe we first talked? You’re too sweet.”

She grinned and nodded. "Yeah they were fresh out of the oven, too. Remember that blonde that flirted with you?" Alli nodded and Axel chuckled. "Well she asked how you were doing because you hadn't been in to see her lately and I told her she had a girlfriend now." She chuckled to herself again before retrieving them both some plates and cups. Axel grabbed her own croissant before rummaging through the fridge and grabbing two cans of dr pepper, pouring them each into their glasses.

First official day of leave and Axel couldn't help but getting up early. Her alarm was set to go off at 8am, but Axel's mind was set to wake up at 4am. She spent majority of the time lurking online, looking for things that her and Alli could spend their free time doing - anything to help her mental health, was what the doctor had said. When the clock struck 8am, Axel jumped in the shower, got changed and made her way over to Alli's house. "Knock knock," Axel said as she unlocked the door to Alli's apartment. "I made a pit stop. Figured you wouldn't have had anything to eat." She said as she placed the paper back of goods onto the kitchen bench. "Please tell me you're up." Axel groaned before Alli appeared from down the hall.

Anyone who just leaves you like that just isn't worth the time or the sadness. If you ever need someone to vent to, I"m here for you. *half smiles*

I just thought you meant cutting back on shifts not leaving work for good.

It's not for good, Alli.

It's just until you're on your feet. Chief Hunt understood and he even filled out your paperwork so you didn't have to come in. It's all been approved and now we can get started on getting you better.

"Thank you." Alli mumbled when her finger was fixed. She raised her eyebrows. "Big day tomorrow?" Alli asked before settling herself into bed, patting the spot beside her.

[residentaxeljones]

"Yep." She huffed before laying down next to Alli. "I'm going to fill out the paper work for time off and then I'm going to get you an appointment with the best psychologist Seattle has to offer." Axel turned so she was on her side and draped an arm over Alli's waist. "We're going to get you better, starting tomorrow. So try to get some sleep." After that, Axel closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

It's not a big deal, Alli. Time off will be good and you'll be back on your feet in no time.

Axel laughed and shook her head. “I’d give you an aspirin but you’ve still got alcohol in your system. Would you settle for a glass of water and some stitch glue for your finger?”

"Water would be great." Alli sighed and then raised her eyebrows. She’d completely forgotten...

Axel rolled her eyes. "I'll be as gentle as I can." She pursed her lips and assessed the wound before opening up the tube of surgical glue and applying it to the finger. "Try not to use it for a while, the glue needs to settle and hold it together." Axel got off the bed and put away the supplies before returning. "You should get some sleep. Big day tomorrow."

She laid back onto the bed and sighed contently. “I feel much better. Kind of have a headache though.” Alli laughed slightly.

Axel laughed and shook her head. "I'd give you an aspirin but you've still got alcohol in your system. Would you settle for a glass of water and some stitch glue for your finger?"

"Okay." Alli said before reluctantly sitting upright. She pulled off the towel and sat, waiting for the clothes to be ready. "Thank you for this, Axel." Alli gave a half smile. "I love you."

Axel pulled out random pjs and laid them into the bed. "I love you too." She said with a soft smile, before beginning to get Alli changed. Not too long afterwards Alli was changed and her hair was wrapped in a towel. "Feel better now?"

"That’s not fine. That’s alcoholism." Alli sighed again and shook her head. She watched on as Axel went through the drawers. "Does that really matter Axel? I feel horrible and I"m still going to feel horrible in or out of plaid." Alli laid down onto the bed not even caring…

"It just hurts so much you know." Alli started with a crack in her voice. "I try to think about getting better for him but then I remember he’s gone and the pain starts all over again." She turned on her side and scooted closer to Axel. "I want to get better though. I really do."

Axel pulled her closer and kissed her forehead. "I know, but that pain... Is normal to be feeling. You need to feel it to move on." She said softly before pressing their lips together and pulling away with a sigh. "Come on let's get you dressed."
