Hello everyone! An update, albeit not one we wanted to make. With much sadness we have decided to postpone the event for another year. After a visit and conversations with the hotel staff regarding the plausibility of the event being able to happen both the hotel and the RR staff have come to the conclusion that the event will be better off being pushed to it's 2022 date. As of right now, the hotel is not able to hold events of over 25 people. While august is several months out, both the local state and broader country has a very slow rate of opening/lifting on restrictions. The conclusion was made that it would be unlikely that the capacity needed for our show would be allowed in Clackamas county, come august. The resin rose staff also raise concerns that even in the event the capacity restriction was lifted, that it would be safer for our members in the long run to forgot the event for another year. Our first concern is the health and safety of our members. The new dates will be officially announced once we have them confirmed from the hotel (it will be roughly the same weekend in august that it always is) All passes, both vendor and member will be transfered to the new dates. If you have made a booking with the hotel using the reservation code, your booking will be automatically cancelled by the hotel once the date has been moved. If you made your reservation without the code, you will need to call to cancel your booking. Monarch does not charge cancellation fees. We should have the official date for the show in 2022 in the next few days and will make them public ASAP. We will also be holding another virtual event this year so vendors and members alike, keep an eye on your email for details! Usually around this time of year Resin Rose is hosting a coloring book contest, but since we didn't get to have this years show, the coloring book pages you all submitted will be used for the 2021 show as a cary over. But don't fret! We still have a contest for you! This year RR is holding a mascot contest. That's right, it's about time we had an official mascot! While the jointed hand has been our unofficial mascot since the start, we thought it was high time for an official face, so to speak. So BJD lovers and Resin Rose fans show us what you got! We're looking for a mascot that we can use across our promotional material, merchandise (bags and shirts) pins, sticker and banners for future shows. This @inkari.alpaca is the small size plush and will be part of our mascot contest prize package. What is the mascot contest you ask? This year, in lieu of our usual coloring book contest were holding a design contest for an official Resin Rose mascot. The mascot can be anything, person, animal or sentient cactus! Let your imagination run wild and design something that can be used year after year. We're looking for a mascot that can be adjusted/augmented to fit each year's theme via a prop or costume or other minor cosmetic changes so don't go too specific with the overall look! Hello everyone! We're excited to announce our 2020-2021 exclusive bjd! To fit with our theme of Fairy Tales we've asked this adorable little frog fellow to join us! Mr. Frog will be available for pre-order from May 10th until July 10th. His body is being pro cast by @harucasting in unique forest green and his wings are being glitter printed in resin by @syntheticephemera who also sculpted him. Each frog will ooak wings with a unique glitter resin. Mr. Frog sits 8cm tall with his wings and is roughly 14.5cm around. His head, wings and front arms are jointed. 2020 has been a very crazy year. Over the last 4 months we've held out hope that the global situation would shift for the better and we could continue as planned with our 2020 event. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Effective immediately Resin Rose 2020 has been officially moved to 2021. Our venue, Monarch Hotel, has decided to cancel the remainder of any large gathering events from now through august to ensure they can continue to adhere to the state of Oregon's health and safety guidelines. Resin Rose: Fairy Tales will be held on August 13th-15th 2021. So what is going to happen now? Regarding Rooms: Monarch hotel will be canceling all hotel reservations made using the Resin Rose group code. You do not need to call to cancel your hotel reservation if you made the reservation using our group code. if you made a room reservation but did not use our group code please call the monarch hotel at 503-652-1515 to cancel your room. Regarding Passes and Vendor packages: All passes and Vendor packages will be transferred to the 2021 show. If you have already paid in full for your pass or vendor package you do not need to do anything to have your tickets moved. We will be continuing as normal for the 2021 event carrying over layout, merch, planned events and activities, but a year out from now. If you have not paid in-full for a vendor package, you will have until July 14th to pay your table in full or the spot will be forfeit and you will have to sign up again durring the 2021 sign up period. If you can not attend the 2021 event, please email us and we will discuss possible options. While we are deeply saddened by the cancellation of the event, your health and safety are our top priority. As the landscape changes regarding Covid-19 and group gatherings we wanted to address the August 2020 event for Resin Rose and hopefully answer a few questions you may have. •At this time there are no plans to cancel or move the event, the date is far enough out that things will hopefully have settled at that point. we will continually reevaluate the situation at hand and follow any state or county guidelines regarding gatherings that may be in effect at the time of our event. •RR2020's venue, Monarch Hotel has assured us that they are following CDC/WHO and local/state guidelines regarding cleaning/sanitizing. They will continue to take extra steps to ensure the health and safety of the guest at the venue. They have provided a statement regarding their steps which you can access on the next slide, or on our Facebook post. •While we are not offering cancellations at this time due to the planned continuation of the event, transfers of tickets and/or tables is allowed.
