so kat was born in riverdale on the northside, her parents moved from india after they got married so she was born into a pretty settled family. both her parents being doctors, they moved to america for the promise of a brighter future for their daughter. turns out they couldn’t have been more wrong.
kat always had a mind of her own, and while her parents pushed her toward science she found a talent and love in performing. she often snuck out of her home to sing at clubs which is where she met the serpents for the first time.
she fell in love with a serpent at seventeen, did the dance, got a tattoo & a jacket, and officially became one of them. it wasn’t long before she felt like she’d found the one place she truly belonged.
she was also seventeen when her mother unexpectedly passed away in an accident, her father looking for her to tell her only to find her in the arms of a serpent, a bright green tattoo across her collarbone.
she’d never seen her father truly angry, and instead of losing himself in the grief of losing his wife, he took out the pain he had on her. after months of bearing the abuse, she left his house and went to live with the serpents, her family, who took her in with open arms.
after years with the serpents she eventually got married to the same man she’d joined them for, having a child she loved more than anything else in the world. she was happy there, happier than she even thought she’d be. but she didn’t know all that would change again, repeating what always happened to her like clockwork.
after another night singing her heart out, she went home to her husband and child only to see him in bed with another woman. she didn’t think much then, silent pulling her gun and shooting it through the other woman’s eyes. next, she turned the gun onto him but couldn’t do it, shooting him in the shoulder instead. grabbing her child and a few other things, she was out of the house and on the run, faster than she’d ever run before in her life. a part of her knew she’d never be ready to go back to the serpents, but they were the only ones she’d ever called family.
after spending days squatting wherever she could find place, a ghoulie found her, immediately wanting to start trouble at the sight of her serpent tattoo. swearing her loyalty to them was over, she burned her jacket and struck her pocket knife across the tattoo, and was welcomed into the ghoulies with open arms.
now, she’s managed to get herself a small home considering she helped streamline the ghoulie system for dealing drugs & became a vital part of their operations, earning herself a big cut.
