Mikan was exhausted, hair falling into her eyes as she stumbled awkwardly into the room. She was mid yawn when the younger girl - her Beloved - slipped her arms around her and squeezed like a boa constrictor squeezing the life out of its prey. Mikan gasped, face red and heartbeat pounding against her ribcage. Junko very rarely let her get this close to her, and she never greeted her in such an excited manner. The nurse felt like she was going to faint from how amazing this was.
“M-Missed me?” She repeated, face getting hotter and hotter the more she thought about it. Her Beloved had missed her while she was out doing all her little errands for her! The excitement of it all was already getting to her and she couldn’t help but let out a tiny squeak as Junko turned away and gestured for her to follow her further into the room.
The excitement seemed to wear off quickly though, a lump forming in her throat at the mention of a boy. What boy? There was no boy. Sure, there were boys in her class, but they couldn’t compare to Junko’s beauty, her grace, her everything. Mikan was totally obsessed with the mastermind. No boy could ever replace the love she felt for Junko Enoshima.
“G-guy? I… I don’t know what y-you’re talking about… I w-was just out doing w-what you asked of me… There’s no one else, I swear!” Mikan blurted out in her defence. “I a-admit I t-took a lot longer than I sh-should have b-but…”
She trailed off, knowing that no matter what excuse she came up with, Junko would do what she wanted with her anyways.
Of course there wasn’t, and Junko didn’t doubt the nurses’ honesty. Yet, it was strangely ENTERTAINING to watch the girl scramble for excuses, as if she had actually done something wrong. It kept her under Junko’s thumb easily enough, as well - making sure that the girl remained just as dedicated to her as she had been on the first day.
It was undoubted that the nurse was still in love with her - everything about her screamed it, from the way she blushed at her slightest compliment to the way she followed her like a lost puppy. But Junko wanted to see just how far she could push the girl. It would be something like a game to her and a test of loyalty to the older girl. The first time she spoke, it would be a soft, reassuring purr, spoken as she turned, sitting on the top of a desk in her room, meant for studying but re-purposed into a vanity where she kept her makeup and hair supplies.
“ Of course I missed you - I was worried about you. I always am. Especially since I started seeing that guy looking at you. I don’t remember who he was, but it looked like he knew you. ”
All lies, but lies that rolled off her tongue so effortlessly they may as well have been simple truths. As if she was merely reciting what she’d had for breakfast that morning. She had become talented in the art of deception. So talented that it was almost boring by now, but Mikan had always been more fun than others, with very few exceptions. She was willing to lie to Mikan for this reason - she was fun, even when it wouldn’t necessarily give the Mastermind anything in return other than that temporary enjoyment. It was worth it, and in her mind, this was nearly akin to CARING for the girl.
“ I was just worried I might loose you if it turned out he’d spoken to you. Please, just be careful, okay? I don’t want anyone to sway you into thinking they’re better than me. Especially some some guy couldn’t appreciate you nearly as much as I do. ”
