Her sisterâs acceptance of the excuse made her relax just the slightest bit, her smile growing just a little more natural as she shook her head, golden hair moving along with the motion, offering a response to the rather innocent-seeming question. There were animals - that much wasnât a lie. After all, if her sister didnât see the results of the shoot containing said animals, she would have been ruined. No. There were animals, but it went rather well under the circumstances - leaving her just enough spare time to catch up with a friend.
But her sister didnât need to know about that part.
â It was a little baby snow leopard. It was the cutest thing. The pictures are supposed to go to help support endangered species. Promise I was perfectly safe the whole time - there were a couple professional handlers just out of frame. â
Her words were calm, a tinge of excitement mixed in just to try to convince her sister that it was okay and that she was safe. Besides, the animal hadnât tried to snap at her even once. She was pretty certain she was in more danger here than there, in fact.
She barely saw the bottle coming towards her, eyes widening slightly in surprise as she managed to catch it. She nodded slightly in response, knowing well not to argue with her sister in matters as simple as this. Instead, she unscrewed the cap and took a long drink, only to look back towards her sister as she took her phone and flipped it open.
The blonde swallowed just a little bit harder than usual, loosely putting the cap back on the bottle with the intent to have another drink before long. Her sister was right on that account - she really should drink more water. It wasnât good for her to go so long without it, even if it had yet to kill her.
Then again, a lot of things that likely werenât good for her still hadnât killed her.
Her gaze flickered back to her sister, and then momentarily to her phone as it beeped. She had practice in this game. She would force herself to breathe, nervous even though she was almost certain that there was nothing blatantly incriminating on that phone - she had made sure of that. She told her friends not to text her unless she texted first and deleted every message once she replied to it. There was nothing. Nothing bad.
   And then that question.
   Did she know?
She couldnât know. How could she know? Junko only hoped her sister wouldnât hear the frantic beating of her heart or see the way her eye twitched slightly. She shook her head, forcing herself to take another sip of the water her sister had thrown at her - buying time to consider her answer. When she did speak, she tried to keep her tone simple and sweet, giving a slight shrug along with it.
â Nobody out-of-the-ordinary really. A director, my manager, photographers, hair and makeup- oh, the animal handlers, too, but thatâs it as far as I remember. It was a smaller-scale one so we didnât need a lot of people. You know, you could always come along to one if you wanted to. Iâm sure they wouldnât mind and Iâd love to see you there. â
Every word made sense for the most part, but part of the mercenary was always paranoid and this was always especially true towards her younger sister. She knew Junko would NEVER betray her, but there was always the âwhat ifsâ and the âcould someone corrupt herâ that lingered in her mind. The photoshoot did sound pretty normal, and she would be excited to receive a copy of the article. The wolf cherished everything her darling sister did and even if she didnât approve of it, that didnât mean she didnât treasure the things given to her.Â
All the helpless girl received was a nod of understanding, which was not the worst thing in the world to receive from the predator. Her silence although anxiety inducing was rather normal, she had always been reserved and quiet until she felt threatened or she was upset in some way. If anything it was a good indicator that the woman wasnât feeling tense in any way, however, that didnât stop her from pushing to justify her feelings of peace.Â
She had to know FOR SURE.Â
Dull eyes watched every movement Junko made, her claws still clinging to the cell phone. Every word the younger sister spoke was obviously being judged and the soldierâs gaze narrowed a bit as if she was deciding if what the analyst had said was acceptable. The word LOVE was enough to settle the wolfâs mind and she snapped the phone shut before tossing it over to the blonde, she had passed the test and Mukuro gave a sigh of relief as a reward.Â
The tense feeling in the air had been broken as the older sister stretched and listened for a satisfying crack of her joints to reach her ears. The wolf considered her offer with true endearment, even if she hardly WANTED to take her up on her offer. A hum on her lips indicated her thoughts as she stepped closer to her sister and allowed a sharp nail to dig under Junkoâs chin forcing her to meet Mukuroâs gaze. The younger sisterâs eyes didnât carry the same murderous spark as the mercenaries, and it made the womanâs lips curl into a smirk as leaned over and spoke in a hushed voice against the analystâs ear.Â
âItâs a very sweet offer, but do you TRUST me not kill someone who touches you? Iâd HATE to get the wrong idea and make a MISTAKE.âÂ
There was simple sigh before the older sister pulled back and looked at the younger one with love and maybe a tad concern. It was a fair warning, she really did detest people who touched what she considered hers. Junkoâs life and mind belonged to her, and she considered herself KIND for allowing the younger sister to share herself with other people. With that the predator was finished and moved on to another less than the favorable topic for the model. The whole topic was a trap and Mukuro made sure the lay a firm hand on her shoulder, a little too close to her neck for anyone to be comfortable as she spoke with a poisonous tone.
âNow that we have that cleared up, itâs your turn to choose dinner.â
