She’s never been fond of the holidays, and this year is no exception. Though she must admit that this time around, it’s not quite as distasteful. Loathe as she is to admit it, she’s almost glad that she has Blair- she’d insisted that she wanted nothing more than to spend the holiday with her betrothed, a half-truth cooked up to avoid spending time swarmed by family and strangers alike. 

Though they’re still expected to make an appearance at a gathering later, the day is theirs to spend. She’s not quite sure what he’s expecting, but she’s avoided him for the better part of the day, only seeking him out as the afternoon sun streams weakly through a blanket of dull grey clouds. 

Delicate hands clutch a small package behind her back ( she’s only just finished his gift- it’s the reason behind her avoidance of him ) and she clears her throat-

          “ Ah- happy Christmas. I thought. . .well, I thought             that it might not be so bad to spend some time             together after all. If you would like, that is. ”

              though serena holds the dress over her arms, she               doesn’t look as though she plans on putting the outfit               back anytime soon.

Her lips are pursed in an almost childish display, eyes flicking back and forth from the sunshine blonde to the outfit in her arms. Even so, she recognizes the stubborn glint in chocolate eyes- she knows to pick her battles wisely, and this is simply not worth fighting.
