Oh my God, you’re so full of yourself, ain’t ya? Well… Um, I don’t know exactly what you mean by my story, but… I’m a twin. I’ve got a younger brother. My girlfriend asked me to marry her. I said yes. My mum is a homophobic. I love gardening. My favourite colour is blue. I love tits. I’m a photographer. I’ve never not been in love since I was 14. I’ve never had a boyfriend. Bristol's in Wales, dear. *He smiles* I was raised in Doncaster, but I moved to London when I was sixteen. Now I live in Hull, but I'm moving to Hertfordshire soon.

Joe shrugged. “Comes and it goes. Most people get sick of it pretty fast. Right now there’s a kid that sometimes comes in during the slow weekend hours. But my guess is he’ll vanish by next paycheck. Got that look in his eyes, you know? Not that I’d rat him out. This here’s a bridge no one really minds burnin’.” The only thing that hurt is he didn’t seem to be able to burn it himself.

"Why? You lookin’ for work?"

"I can understand why people get sick of it. I mean, it’s a small place to be, not much to do. I’m sure the pay isn’t all that much, either." He gave a slight shrug of his shoulders, "Nah, I’m not necessarily looking for work. Plus, I don’t live anywhere close to here. I’m currently staying in Hull, England, but I’m moving to Hertfordshire with my fiance soon. I bought a house just recently.”

"No need to go depressing me, pal," Joe said with a smirk, "I do still work here, after all."

He gave a little nod. “Well, congratulations.” It was refreshing to hear a nice story walk into the bar for a change. “What’s got you here in NYC, then?” It was only a conversation topic. He didn’t hold a lot of weight on it, and there was the unspoken out that the patron didn’t have to answer if he didn’t need to. Joe was an easy going bartender in that way. Never one for pressing issues and deep psychological investigation. That was what the shrinks were for, and they were certainly getting paid better than he.

"Sorry, mate." Luka smirked, as well, taking a sip of his beer.

"Well, I decided to get out of the house, so I came here. My fiance's busy today, I forgot with what, but I didn't just want to lay around." He didn't necessarily even know what Jerome was doing today, but he did know that he wasn't going to be home. The house held too many bad memories for Luka to be able to stay there alone, which was the whole reason he decided to buy a new house.
