maccready listen to her, unsure of even what she was speaking of. he had never heard the words banana, or knew what it was, but he was a curious minded man, wanting to know what she was speaking of. “peaches and mangoes? oh you mean fruit.’’ maccready finally pieced the puzzle together. “banana is a fruit, yes, i thought it sounded familiar.  yeah, i’ve never had one, or seen one, well not in person.’’ he assured her. “we have apples, and cactus fruit, but mostly everything is mutfruit.  it’s not that bad, after you get use to it.’’

“ it can be, at least in the beginning.  and then there is that not all locks are the same.’’ maccready nodded. “some are pretty easy, stick a pin in, and BAM, they are unlocked, others take time, and concentration. there are still locks i can’t exactly do, but cait, she could get into anything.’’

“i think we all are salty at some points of our lives, depends on if you’re one for taste of attitude.’’ maccready paused, listening to her words. “animatronic puppet? like a giddyup buttercup? i thought they stopped making those, i mean there is some man out in boston trying to continue making them.’’ maccready pursed his lips.  “but i don’t think they were ever that great of a seller. i’ve scavenged the factory of them, nothing but parts remained lying about.

“ you can refuse all you want, and you can continued to let this bother you, but it’s a shame that you’re going to believe that one lies to you about something like their own age.’’ maccready shook his head. “ but you saying that i am lying about my age, doesn’t really sum up that i am actually not old.’’

maccready wasn’t usually one that went out of his way to speak to a stranger, much less joke with one.  but the laughter from her lips only fueled him to speak.  he wasn’t a social butterfly, he was a hired gun, and although that seemed to be ages ago, he was his own. “ well that’s a shame, maybe they are just nervous from the beauty you have.’’ robert joseph grinned, keeping his eyes on her. “ oh. DEFINITELY worse, much worse.  the land i come from, is dead, there are humans, or what they consider human, but it’s nothing like this.  i have fought far too many super mutants and mirelurks to state that it isn’t a terrible place to live.’’

So good to see you. As you can tell Dogmeat has missed you but not quite as much as I have missed you.” Gertie looked at anywhere but him, “I”m scared.” She suddenly said. “What if we don't’ ever get back? What if I don’t find Shaun?” 

“it must of been the rad storm’’ maccready answered. “i remember it clearly, it hit hard, i mean that shit usually scatters all over, but fuck, it was hard this time around.’’ he hummed, trying to remember anything beyond it.  “and you know how quick it comes, all i know is piper and i were together, than we weren’t. we tried to hunker down for the night, but then i awoke here.’’ maccready was relieved he wasn’t the only one confused, he was just happy to see that he wasn’t alone, that he had found gertie, and dogmeat, or more so, they found him.

        As much as she wanted to find it in her to tell him off and not so friendly either, Sally ended up laughing. “Okay, alright, I gotta hand it to you, that one’s kind of funny, but please tell me you’re not the kind to go around saying stuff like that to unsuspecting women.”

when a smile formed on her lips, maccready knew he had done a good job.  “i’m glad you like it.’’ he chuckled. “to be fully honest with you, most of the woman i come in contact with, are either some kind of monster, or they shoot before asking questions. i’m glad you are neither.’’

“probably is.’’ he pursed his lips closed, hearing words fall from her lips. maccready had heard of many different creatures, but nothing called walkers. “not fully sure. not sure where you came from, or what a walker is, but i haven’t seen any monsters around, unless you count regular old humans.’’
